GREAT CABIN IN CRIPPLE CREEK!! COZY! JUST LIKE HOME!

  • 5 of 5
Loved the Cabin in Cripple Creek. The view was amazing. We could see the town perfectly. Cabin is very convenient. It is just a couple of streets above the Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad Station. It was great hearing the train whistle blow during the day. It is not disturbing at all... it was really neat and we would go out to the porch to hear it. We also had deer outside the cabin each evening. You could look out the kitchen window and see them grazing up on the hill. The Cabin was very clean. The owners take very good care of the property and make sure that you have everything that you need. The cabin is not very old so everything is in excellent condition and there are no funny smells or anything weird like that. It is very cozy. There is plenty of room for everyone. We only had a family of 4 but it could have easily accommodated more. It is 3 bedrooms but there is actually a room on the bottom floor that has its own half bath with a sofa and set of bunk-beds. There are several flights of stairs but it is worth the climb to see the views! We were extremely comfortable and truly appreciate the owner (Bill). We called him several times before we came and he always answered the phone and was very helpful. If you are staying in Cripple Creek we highly recommend this Cabin on the hill! We loved it because as we drove around Cripple Creek during the day going to the museums etc. we could look up on the hill and see our "home". Cripple Creek is also a short drive to Woodland Park, Manitou Springs, and Pikes Peak area. Cripple Creek does have many Casinos - we did not gamble much but it was great getting $3.99 Steak and Eggs at Bronco Billys. :) I highly recommend this cabin and this owner! We will definitely come back!

AS ADVERTISED

This cabin was clean, well maintained, and roomy. We saw lots of wildlife including deer, wolves, coyotes, and hummingbirds. You can walk to all of the casinos, and I found them to be low key but fun and very affordable (for casinos). There is a lot to do in the area including some great hikes in the Crags, and Horsethief Falls. You need to be in pretty good shape to walk to the casinos, and honestly just getting up the stairs of this cabin though, so I don't recommend this cabin for those not in good health. You will not get an internet connection out here with Verizon or T-Mobile, but you can make calls. GPS is spotty thoughout the area so make sure you research where you want to go and how to get there.

EXCELLENT LOCATION AND FACILITIES

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here for a several nights to relax and enjoy what Cripple Creek has to offer. We were more than pleased with the house, furnishings, and amenities. The porch is an especially nice feature to enjoy when the weather is good. The house overlooks the town from above and has an excellent view of the mountains. The best aspect of this property, however, is its immediate proximity to downtown Cripple Creek. Everything is within walking distance. Highly recommended.

NICE LODGE AWAY FROM THE CROWDS

  • 4 of 5
Nice place about 1 mile from downtown; close enough if you're a gambler, far enough away from the noise and crowds if that's not your thing. The lodge is clean and well maintained. Loved the wrap around porch/deck; majestic views all around. Fabulous hiking trail (Gold Camp trail / American Discovery trail) within walking distance. I hope to return in the summer when the elements are more favorable to explore more of the trail. So much history along the trail as well as around town. Safe neighborhood; I had no reservations about walking my dog, even at 11:00pm. My husband and I had a most enjoyable stay.

GET OUT OF THE BUSY CITY LIGHTS

  • 5 of 5
Nice get away for good price. Not for elderly with health issues. Lots of stairs and access issues. Very clean and great views. We had a great time but could not take my husband again-he had to stay behind while we went to town. Great since we cooked our own meals which taste better than a restaurant. Bring your games and sit on the porch and watch the wild burros. This would be a wonderful place to have a small family get together. Casino's were to tight but if not a gambler you can take in the history of Cripple Creek.

NE GIRL SCOUT TROOP'S HOME BASE

NE Girl Scout Troop's Home Base
  • 5 of 5
Every year my troop votes on a "cookie trip" destination/activity and this year was to go white water rafting. This rental served as our home away from home while we were in central Colorado. The girls all found the view amazing as well as the rooms spacious and comfortable. The house allowed us to prepare most of our meals together and save a lot of money on dinning out as we had a limited budget. One of our days was spent wandering Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs with its variety of shops and historical attractions. After a day of outings it was nice to come home to the quiet of the rural community and relax on the porch or just hang out watching movies together. The owner was more than helpful in responding to my questions before and during our visit. I would highly recommend this rental to groups for any reason you may be staying in Central Colorado.
