Guestbook comments from the owner
We had a fantastic time -- the weather was great and we got to do most of the things we wanted. One of us had an underwater camera with a video option so we all got to "snorkel" around the boat basin and Rachel Key. We always knew there were lots of lobsters on the outside wall of the boat basin but we were surprised to learn there are even more along the wall inside the boat basin. We saw a pod of 8 manatees (adults and young) swim right by the boat basin one afternoon and some of us got to see them again when they swam by in the opposite direction at sunset. That was one of the highlights of our trip.
Everything at the house was fine, housekeeping was good.
Thank you for making your house available to us. I'm sure we'll be back in a few years -- if you haven't realized our dream of moving in permanently.
Frank & I have enjoyed our piece of paradise over the years, first while raising our 3 boys, and now with their families --which include 8 grandchildren. While we have lived in a wooded neighborhood in Virginia all these years, our hearts are at Media Luna with unlimited water views.
We fell in love with our half-moon shaped home while house shopping on a cloudy day while our sons golfed at the par 3 nearby golf course. Being in a quiet neighborhood with proximity to grocery stores and shopping sealed our decision. The sandy beach we could bike or drive to also did not hurt.
Nothing beats the view when walking thru the front door, unlimited horizon views thru 24 feet of 8 foot high sliding glass doors. The 925 s.f. screened porch with a lobster trap bar that had a wood top from a salvaged ship sold us on Media Luna. We also loved the circular driveway which provided covered parking to keep our car shaded from the fabulous Keys sun.
