Fish from the deck at high tide! Two charming cabins at the water's edge in beautiful Tramp Harbor on Vashon Island. Beautiful south facing Sound and Mountain views . Main cabin has eat-in kitchen, living room, bedroom that sleeps two and bathroom with shower. Secondary cabin is a bunk room that sleeps six with a half bath. Large deck area with jacuzzi, fire pit and built in picnic table.
My family wanted to rent a place on the water and we were not disappointed with these cabins. The Puget Sound comes right up to cabins' porch. My 10 and 5 year old loved going out on the beach everyday for hours each day we were there. They loved turning over the rocks and watching the crabs scurry across the beach. The cabin was well stocked with toiletries and kitchen items. It was easy for us to make a trip to the local grocery store and cook for our entire stay. When the kids were tired at night we were able to relax with DISH network inside the cabins. The only drawback for my stay was the lack of blinds in the cabins. The large picture windows are beautiful for viewing; however, it also made for a VERY warm cabin during our visit. To be fair though, our time visiting was unusually warm for the Seattle area and I was six months pregnant. My only recommendation for the cabins is to have some fans available or blinds installed. I will definitely contact Lanette again for future visits to this lovely island.
My wife and I needed to stay on Vashon for a friend's wedding, and decided to make a long weekend out of it. We are extremely happy that we chose this place! Even though on a clear day you can see Seattle waterfront neighborhoods like SeaTac and Des Moines off in the distance, you truly feel like you're on an island vacation far from big city reality. Sitting in the hot tub on a deck that's basically IN the Puget Sound, while watching the sun come up and taking in the view of Mt Rainier's majesty to the south, was breathtaking. Lanette was a pleasure to communicate with, and this place had more than enough of everything we could need. Highly recommended for anyone who loves to be close to the water while vacationing... because you couldn't be closer than this place unless you vacationed on a boat. (Speaking of which: there is a very sturdy row boat you can use at this rental!). This is a great getaway that's a bargain, and just a short ferry ride from Seattle. Lastly, the bunk house was an unexpected surprise: It has two full beds, a set of bunk beds, a TV with cable, and a cute half-bathroom. If you bring the kids, they'll love it.
We had an outstanding time! The views from the cabin are incredible! Every morning we awoke to Mt Rainier and 2 bald eagles outside. Awesome! If you want 5 star facilities and fancy toiletries and such, this isn't for you. It's an older cabin and not everything works perfectly. However, everything you need is provided. Not to mention, there is a Thriftway grocery store 5 minutes away. Be advised a ferry ride is required and it was $30 round trip for our car and 3 people. Lanette was very nice and great to work with. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!
Lots of nice amentities, good kitchen, wood burning fireplce, and hot tub. We loved the view from the outdoor deck especially from the hot tub! This location is perfect for kayakers as you are literally on the waters edge from the deck. I wish there were kayaks supplies but we had fun exploring in the row boat. This place would be good for a couple or smaller family not for big gatherings. My only qualms were the small things needing repair but these were very minor concerns. We would definitely come back to stay here again.
My family really enjoyed the cabins. We loved being right on the beach, fishing and combing for sea shells. The cabins were clean, fully stocked with all needed kitchenware, towels, bedding and new appliances. A great time had by all. Thank you for sharing this sweet spot on the shore. We will be back.
We attended our cousin's wedding on Vashon and had the pleasure of staying at the cabins. We had a lovely time. The cabins are convenient to the ferry and town. Four of us stayed at the cabins, they are quite comfortable and with the deck space, spacious. We hung outside on the decks a lot. We even had a great family bbq one evening complete with smores out by the firepit! Thank you so much for sharing your family's getaway with our family!
Tip for new travelers to Vashon, take a map! It is very easier to get turned around and lost!
