Overview

Wilson Lake House Rental Photos and Description

Welcome to our dream home. This is not our vacation home, but it is our beloved home whenever we are in the USA. It was completely gutted in 2010 and lovingly renovated extensively. So you will be staying in a newly remodeled home.

Our house is 3800 sq. ft. with 6 bedrooms (sleeping 15), every room with beautiful views. The house has a split floor plan, with three bedrooms in one wing and 3 on the other. We can close off one wing so that you have the option of only renting the main living space with 3 bedrooms (sleeping 5).

* The master bedroom has a king bed. The master bath has a luxurious Asian style soaking tub.

* Next to the master are two bedrooms. One with two twin beds and a smaller bedroom with one twin bed.

* In the wing on the opposite side of the house are two bedrooms on the ground floor and one large bedroom upstairs. One bedroom contains a queen size bed and one bedroom has two twin beds.

*The biggest bedroom upstairs has 6 twin beds. It also has a breath-taking turret with 6 windows which will make you feel like you’re in a castle.

The exact opposite of a dark log cabin, this house on the water is bright and light with 14(!) beautiful skylights, you’ll never have to turn on the light during the day.

Eat your meals out on the patio overlooking breathtaking water views. Walk down the steps and set up your fishing lines on the pier, or sit on the beautiful natural rock ledges by the water. The water view is expansive, the opposite shore being over a mile across. Across the waters is TVA land, so you will be looking at a pristine natural shore instead of houses. Not only is the water beautiful during the day, but you just may be treated to a moonrise on the water as well. Crystal clear moonbeam spanning a long trek across the water is a sight few people ever get to experience.

Situated on 7 acres, our property is also a bird watchers’ paradise. We guarantee you will delight in seeing our resident great herons and red-headed woodpeckers. And if you’re lucky, you may see a bald eagle right outside the window! We have seen ospreys, kingfishers, pelicans, hawks, foxes, groundhogs, etc. On our land is also 3 acres of woods, a fruit orchard, and a pine tree stand we named Narnia.

Great Place for Larger Group

  • 4 of 5
Let me start by saying that this home is very well laid out. We were a party of 10 middle age guys and had plenty of room. The weather was spotty so we were inside one night and outside the others. Again, plenty of room for us to enjoy playing cards, cooking, and hanging out no matter what the weather decided to do. Plenty of seating, tables, and overall space. I was worried about hot water issues as we all would be leaving at the same time. We had no problems and even had two showers going at the same time. It was also an added bonus that the home was already stocked with cookware, flatware, etc.

The owner and staff were very attentive and a pleasure to deal with. One minor issue popped up and the owner responding quickly to my email. The only additional thing that would be helpful would for the bed sizes to vary a bit more. Notice there are lots of single beds, while it was fine for us, it could pose an issue for other guests.

The view was amazing and wildlife was ever present, it was a great time had by all. We enjoyed the restaurants in the area as well as golf courses. We would stay here again should our travel plans allow us to return.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your detailed and fantastic review! You're right, we do have lots of single beds, which has actually worked out great for the multiple groups of golfers we host every year. When multiple families come through, they simply push single beds together, and it's worked out fine. We welcome you all back!

The location was great and had all the amenities needed to accommodate us for the weekend. I would recommend this location for families looking for a weekend get away. The location and river view is amazing.

Wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5
Our stay at Cliffhaven could not have been more wonderful. The facilities were more than adequate for the 12 of us for a week. The home is so spacious, we were able to spread out to do many activities. Plenty of comfy seating to find a place to read, chat and/or play games. We had 5 college age grandkids and they had such fun. Our son brought his boat and everyone had a great time water skiing, and other water sports. The fishing was good, too, providing us all with a delicious fried catfish/bass dinner one night. It was a week for making memories, for sure. Any needs we had were quickly taken care of by the names given to us by the owners and everyone was so nice. We would definitely use this lovely place again in a heartbeat if we all didn't live so far away.
We thank the owners for renting their home so that people like us can all be together in such a comfortable place.

Family stay at Cliffhaven

  • 5 of 5
Our extended family spent a wonderful week at Cliffhaven. Judy is a very responsive and considerate host. Cliffhaven is beautiful, the views of the water and wildlife are breathtaking. The home is very spacious, sparkling clean and comfortable. We were a party of 9 adults from 2 generations, we could have easily accommodated several more. We were there because my brother was in a bass fishing tournament. The bass fishing is incredible. I would love to stay there again!

We loved our stay at Cliffhaven. We have a cousins weekend every year and this house was just perfect for us. The house is spacious and the veiw is absolutely beautiful. We are all in agreement that this is where we want to gather next year. I would absolutely recommend Cliffhaven, especially for large groups.

Great Weekend!

  • 4 of 5
Our family celebrated our fathers 80th birthday over Memorial Day weekend. We filled the house to the brim. We all had enough space to be comfortable and not be crowded.

The bed situation (mostly twins) was not ideal since we had mostly couples. But we knew this when we rented the house. We slide together most of the twin beds to make larger beds and that worked fine. However, not all of the beds were structured to be moved. Beds were comfortable.
We had everything we needed for cooking and sleeping. Grill worked well but it is charcoal so plan ahead if you are going to use it. We had lots of hot water so no one had any cold showers. That was a big plus with a large group. One bathroom had hot and cold reversed but once you knew, it was fine. A warning sign might be nice though. There were plenty of towels. Air conditioning worked well and so did the washer and dryer. Iron needs replacement as it didn’t want to heat up. We bought a new one but I don’t know if the family member left it behind or took it home.

House was clean and uncluttered upon arrival. A few decorative items (like the globe) were worse for wear but we moved those items into a safe place so they would not suffer more damage. Some minor cosmetic/maintenance issues existed but overall the house was beautiful. There are elevation changes between some rooms so the whole house is not wheelchair friendly.

The lake views (and fishing) were awesome. Our group enjoyed fishing from the dock. The views from all over the house were wonderful. Only downfall was that there is no sleeping past daybreak unless you are in a bedroom with complete window coverings. Not all of the bedrooms have this.
The fridge was large but we had an issue with the freezer not keeping items on the top row frozen but maybe that was just an issue with us.

A few steps going down to the dock need repair and a couple lawn chairs were worse for wear but other things were in nice condition. There are only 6 outdoor chairs so bring extra if you need them. The property owner told us this in advance so we did.

The owners were fantastic and the property manager helpful. Our outdoor trash cans were almost full and we filled them within two days. After a call he came the next day to empty them and bring us an extra one. Very friendly man.

We enjoyed our long weekend – Thanks again!
