You will be impressed by our beautiful 3 bedroom condo situated steps from the amazing crystal blue waters of Seven Mile Beach. The convenient beach access to coral reefs located a short distance offshore provides excellent snorkeling without leaving the condo. Do you have a large group? We have another condo right next door, which makes it great for large families/groups. Inside you will find granite counter tops, stainless appliances, a full array of kitchen gear including a standing mixer, blender, coffee pot, toaster etc. There are 3 flat screen TV's, two of which have cable, and all have a dvd/vcr machine. The walls are decorated with beautiful artwork by local artists. There are 2 king size beds and 2 twins, all very comfortable with nice linens and pillows. Outside, enjoy the spacious oceanfront patio with a dining table and plenty of seating. A variety of shops and restaurants are in close proximity, as well as a grocery store. Enjoy 3 swimming pools on property, including a wading pool for small children, whirlpool, and swim up bar and restaurant. Snorkel and explore under the water and see all different varieties of tropical fish and sea life Cayman has to offer. A variety of water sports are available near the condo including para sailing, jet skiing, canoeing, scuba and more.
My family is an original owner of a vacation condo at this location since it was built. I have spent many years enjoying this beautiful and lovely island, and I now share it with wife and children. We love to snorkel, swim, soak up the warm Caribbean sun, rest, and watch the amazing sunsets. We always look forward to our trips to Cayman, and find it hard to leave behind. This is a special place.
Our condo has been updated with above average finish out. The decor is beautiful, featuring an art collection and much more.
We can provide 3 or 6 bedrooms, accommodating 6 to 12 people. This is hard to find in Cayman.
We stayed there several weeks ago and it was terrific. The location is ideal with some of the best snorkeling on the island right off property. Plenty of restaurants are within walking distance and I would recommend you skip renting a car. Will definitely be back
Our family of 6 had a wonderful time in Grand Cayman and were very pleased to come back to this condo as our home base each day. The pictures don't do the condo justice - it is even nicer in person. The bedding was very comfortable, the condo is exceedingly well appointed and very clean.
The location at the south end of Seven Mile Beach is ideal. Although one reviewer didn't like the separation from the rest of Seven Mile by the coral outcropping, it was actually one of the reasons we chose this condo. With two young children, and having only traveled to "sleepy" Caribbean destinations before, we were concerned about the hustle and bustle of Seven Mile Beach. That tiny separation kept the foot traffic in front of the condo to a minimum, but was very easy to get around when WE wanted to explore the rest of Seven Mile. It made Sunset Cove a very quiet oasis in the middle of a busy vacation destination. Prior to choosing this location, we were contemplating VRBO listings in Rum Point or East End, but we would readily come back to Sunset Cove if Grand Cayman is in our plans again.
Heidi was great to deal with, and very responsive to our needs and minor issues. The information provided by email after booking was very useful and pointed us in the right direction for fun activities, good restaurants, shopping and grocery stores.
We tried out Fidel Murphy's, pizza at XQ's, Coconut Joe's, Duke's, and of course Billy Bones. The best "bang for the buck" was definitely Coconut Joe's, and we went there for a breakfast and a supper. The 2 for $12 margaritas were awesome! I was too lazy to make my own coffee on this trip, so I started each day with a short walk to Icoa's Fine Foods for some very good coffee and even better desserts. A bit pricy, but worth it for the convenience.
We did rent a car for the week, so got to explore Rum Point, Hell, Cayman Islands Turtle Farm, Georgetown for the shopping and took a Captain's Marvin's boat to Stingray City. We also celebrated a birthday with a nighttime Atlantis submarine tour. My wife and sister-in-law both agreed that the snorkeling just in front of the condo was FAR better than the snorkel sites we stopped at on our boat excursion. Plenty of tropical fish, a stingray or two, and an even a barracuda.
All in all, a great place. Even the proximity to the sketchy Treasure Island Hotel should not be a deterrent. The people staying there were just as friendly as everyone else on this island. A++
Just went on a couples retreat to this great place. Can't ask for a better location, great snorkeling just outside the protected swim area and a dive shop right down the street. The kitchen is supremely outfitted for cooking but I will say the grocery store is a bit of a walk. I would recommend a car or taking the bus. Great shopping a quick drive from the house into Georgetown. The beds are very comfortable and the porch is huge and offers great sunset views every night.
The dive shop at Red Sail was great, we completed our PADI certification our first 2 days and went diving at the Kittywake the 3rd day. Highly recommend that one if you are diving on your trip. The turtle farm on the north end was also really cool. We used Captain Brian's to go to Stingray City and it was a great deal. There are so many great restaurant's nearby and Heidi gives you a list to work from. We ate at the condo for breakfast and lunch to stay on budget and went all out for dinner. The Wharf was excellent and sat us on the beach for candle light dinner.
This is a great island with tons to offer and this condo is impossible to beat at this price. Guaranteed to have a great time!
This was a fantastic family vacation! The condo was clean, neat, and very comfortable for our family of 6. It was conveniently located near a grocery market, restaurants, and the diving operation we used. The sunsets were some of the most beautiful you will ever see from the balcony which is waterfront! We loved being able to cook some of our own meals in the fabulous kitchen that has granite counters and is very well equipped! We also enjoyed having a washer and dryer to use during our stay. With the ability to wash, we didn't need to pack as many clothes.
The beach was quiet and had great snorkeling! It was never crowded and we saw lobsters in the cove and many other fish in and around the rock cove area. There is also a reef just off the beach for even more snorkeling adventures! If you want to take long walks on the beach, it is easy to walk down the sidewalk to about the second or third hotel and then get on the long stretch of the beach. We even went down to a hotel where we personally rented jet skis, paddle boards, and snorkeled...lots of fun! So there are plenty of rentals available within easy walking distance.
The private pool with a swim up bar was very nice! The food was good and they served all types of drinks at the bar.
We rented a car and we were able to park at the condo parking area. But we walked to Coconut Joe's for breakfast many times. If you don't want to rent a car at the airport for the entire stay, there is a rental company just across the street next to Coconut Joe's Restaurant.
The owners of this condo have done a fabulous job with the decorations, set up, and stocking of the condo. They were very helpful in giving tips on restaurants, dive operations, and other fun things to do during our stay. We highly recommend this condo for your future vacation!
This was my first experience using VRBO and I could not be happier.
The owner of this condo is very friendly. I spoke with Heidi on the phone and was able to learn some great places to dine and things to do; she also provides you with some information after signing the rental agreement.
The facility was clean and stocked with all the essentials (and then some). The bedrooms are a nice size and perfectly accommodated our two couples and one child. There are three TVs with premium cable and movie channels (for those evenings when you're pooped from the sun) and wifi so we could research the perfect dinner spots. The master suite faces west and does not have blackout shades, so it gets quite warm in the afternoon from the setting sun but manages to cool off at night.
The beach was not at all crowded. The private beach is separated from the busier beach by a rock wall (so you cannot take a walk down the beach). This was perfect for the R&R we were looking for. It was nice to feel secluded and at times we were the only people swimming in the man-made cove. Make sure you bring some goggles because there is great snorkeling inside the little cove - a pleasant surprise.
The pool is quite resort-like with a swim-up bar and grill. The food is actually quite delicious (try the Sake-It to Me wrap, conch fritters, and the coconut shrimp) and very reasonably priced. The adult beverages are not too shabby, either.
The market is a short cab ride away (it's a bit of a hike in the hot sun. We did walk to the market and asked the store manager to phone a taxi for our return to the condo). Coconut Joe's is one of many tasty restaurants within walking distance. We did not take the bus on this trip, but I'm told it is quite convenient, safe and affordable.
All-in-all we were very pleased with our stay and would most certainly recommend it for someone looking for a laid back vacation.
We stayed last week in this beautiful condo. It was perfectly suited for my husband and I, two teen girls and my Mother. Heidi was wonderful to work with providing tons of info about the condo, the location and what and how to do things in GC. The Condo is within 3/4 mile walk of a nice size grocery store and the local buses stop right in front. We bought goceries twice and brought them home on the bus with no problem. The beachfront location is awesome...most beautiful mornings on the patio drinking coffee and watching the ocean. The sun comes up on the other side so it was really nice and shady until 10:30 or so. The pool with swim up bar is also very nice - waterfall, zero-entry area for small kids, many chairs and some umbrellas. The outdoor bar/restaurant at the pool had good burgers and drinks and it was fun to meet some of the locals who live in the condos.
The beach in front of the unit is very wide compared to most of the other condos on SMB and there were plenty of beach chairs. There is not a lot of shade as umbrellas are not provided although there is a very nice, large mangrove tree that we sat under on one side and had no problems. There is a patio umbrella and Heidi probably wouldn't have minded if we used it on the beach but we didn't as the tree was nicer. It is a short walk down the beach to Red Sail at the Marriot to rent stand-up paddle boards, jet skis and other beach activities.
The unit is very well appointed with beach towels, any kitchen equipment (pretty high end for a rental I might add) or appliance one might need, laundry products and cleaning supplies and shampoo/soap. The beds were comfortable- on the firm side- and the unit was very clean. Having the maid pop in during the week was very nice.
If we ever go back to GC we will stay here again. I highly recommend the unit, the owner, and the location overall.
