Nestled in the tree tops high above 'Playa las Manchas', in a high-end enclave of million dollar homes including 'Montezuma Hills' and 'Lunatica', this home boasts nearly 4000 square feet of living space, on over 2 acres of lush gardens, dozens of fruit trees, and its' own private park with a built-in bar-b-que.
The views of the whitewater coastline are breathtaking. After passing the entry gate, you'll drive down the beautifully landscaped 500' long driveway to reach this secluded, very private cliff home. You'll enter the home on the upper level and be immediately overwhelmed by the broad ocean views. It really does take your breath away.
The upper level consists of the living room, dining room, a huge well equipped kitchen, a very large bedroom with 2 queen size beds, and en-suite bathroom. The balcony at the ocean side of the home is 18' x 36', and there is a 6' x 60' cantilevered balcony all along the left (east) side of the home with incredible views up the coast line.
The floors are stone throughout all the common areas, and there are hardwood floors in the kitchen and bedroom. The open beamed ceilings are made of sustainable 'cania india', and the balcony railings are bamboo.
The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, a 6 burner gas stove with grill, gas oven, side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker, and dishwasher. Service for 8, and all you'll need to prepare your meals. A private chef is available upon request.
On the lower level, there are 2 large bedrooms, each with a queen size bed with good quality Orthopedic mattresses. One room enjoys the view of the coastline, the other overlooks the jungle and the park. Howler and white-faced monkeys, and other wildlife can be seen from just about any room in the home. There is also a bathroom with a nice big tub.
For parties of 10, for an ADDITIONAL CHARGE, you'll have access to the huge master suite (17' x 30'), and the house will accommodate sleeping for 10 people. The master suite has a beautiful bamboo King size canopy bed that faces to the east. You will be lulled to sleep at night by the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below, and wake with great anticipation to see another amazing sunrise. Each morning brings a different, but incredibly beautiful scene.
The master bath is lovely with a huge corner tub-for-two. There are only glass walls around the tub so you'll feel as though you are sitting in the jungle, over-looking the ocean. Many times..... the curious little white-faced monkeys will be just outside the glass, looking back at you!
There is also a walk-in shower that overlooks the ocean and the jungle. Please speak with the owners if you need to accommodate more than 8 people.
We are Americans who live most of the year in South Florida, but our hearts and our minds are forever in this beautiful country.
We hope to live here full-time in a few more years, so for the mean time, we hope you enjoy our dream home as much as we do.
We first discovered Costa Rica in 1991. We have traveled extensively throughout the country, but it was Montezuma that always had us coming back. There is something about this place that draws you in. I don't know if it's the natural beauty, the International community, or the Bohemian feel of the village, but there are few places on earth that compare. It truly is a very special place.
