Winter escape
Submitted: March 27, 2013
Stayed: January 2013
My wife and I spent 2 months here, Jan 15 to Mar 15 2013 as a getaway from our Canadian winter. This was our second winter in this complex. What we have noticed and appreciate about Coronado is the weather is the same every day this time of year- sunny, 33 deg C with a nice breeze.
We really enjoyed the one bedroom layout as it gave us extra living space which is a big plus on a longer term stay. We did make use of the roll out queen size couch sleeper when our daughter visited. The great advantage of this condo is it being on the east side of the building and hence shaded after 9:30 am alleviating the need for air conditioning. We only used the AC a few times during the two months.
As per the description provided and previous reviews have indicated everything you need for housekeeping, even on a longer visit, is provided and Laura, the owner is right nearby if you need something.
We usually started our day just around sun up with an hour barefoot walk on the beach that is unoccupied most of the day, then for a swim to freshen ourselves in one of the pools. Breakfast and most of the meals were on the balcony with the breeze blowing to keep it cool and the sound of the waves on the beach. Evenings are spent on the rooftop balcony/pool with groups of owners and renters getting together to share stories, have a glass of wine and watch the sunset.
The availability of most everything you need for groceries and everyday supplies is just a $3.00 taxi fare away and you can take the bus to Panama City for $2.50 if you want some big city shopping/outing. There is a host of great restaurants and places to have a drink within a 30 to 45 minute drive.

Owner's Response: You must have made a typo (drive 30 or 40 minutes to get a drink? or to a restaurant?). What are you talking about. There are 3 restaurants plus 2 fondas within walking distance.
English speaking expats and visitors get together at Picasso's for any drink you like. It is a short walk.
You can have breakfast (opens at 6am) at the fonda on the corner for under $3. It also serves lunch for under $4.
Lunarossa is an excellent restaurant, so good that you may need reservations. This is also within 2 blocks.
Plus there are many other restaurants within a 5 to minute drive.
Many of our guest do not have a vehicle and do just fine.
Maybe you got some things mixed up
Sorry, you did not like our decorations.
