Hi I am a 44 years old guy from Amsterdam and I work as a human recourses consultant in the logistics industry. My partner and I have been living in the center of Amsterdam for many years, we both love Amsterdam, its compactness, its friendly atmosphere, its noisyness, its tranquility. Originally I am from the eastern part of the Netherlands (If you want to know the difference between Holland and The Netherlands I am happy to tell you when you here) and moved to Amsterdam when I was 21. My first room (student housing) was just around the corner and from that moment on I new I wanted to own an apartment in this part of the city.

Frank purchased this apartment in 2001

Although no longer living there we don't want to sell it because its such a nice apartment in such an ideal location.

Whenever we have family or friends over we let them stay there and everyone who has always loves the great location!

From the south facing balcony at the back side of the apartment you have a nice view of the gardens of the 17th century canal houses on the Prinsengracht. It is amazing how peaceful and tranquil it can be in the middle of a buzzling city like Amsterdam.

AMSTERDAM CANAL AREA APARTMENT

  • 5 of 5
I had an outstanding 7 day stay in this modern, fully equipped and very comfortable apartment. Large (1 bedroom, study, large living room, modern well stocked kitchen, modern bath with full-sized washer and dryer) on the second floor of a modern building in the central canal district, within walking distance of Rijskmuseum, Concertgebouw, and basically everything else. Excellent wifi signal allowed keeping in touch and working while in the apartment. Totally quiet, with no street noise or noise from the other apartments in the building. The owner was rapidly responsive throughout the booking and reservation process and provided a complete orientation to the apartment upon my arrival. Among apartments I have stayed in through VRBO in Paris, Rome, and Florence in the past, this was by far the best place of all. I hope to return to this apartment in the future and would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone!

We really enjoyed our visit to Amsterdam. The apartment on Kerkstraat was a great place-convenient, quiet, and nicely appointed.

We recommend it very highly.

PERFECT LOCATION IN AMSTERDAM

  • 5 of 5
A great apartment for an Amsterdam vacation. Stayed 6 nights and walked everywhere from its location. The owner was great about giving us directions on taking the tram to the nearest stop and walking just a few blocks from there. Easy to locate the #1 tram at Centraal station and you can buy the tram ticket directly from the tram driver, just get on at front of tram. No exact change needed, what a relief after just arriving. Bottle of wine and candies awaited us. Clean, contemporary and quiet, even though it is only a very short walk to all the action. Would definitely stay here again!

WONDERFUL APARTMENT IN AMSTERDAM

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at this apartment for 3 days, after disembarking from a river cruise. After 2 weeks in a cramped ship stateroom, it was sooo nice to be in this spacious apartment! Added bonus was having the washing machine and dryer to do our laundry after the cruise. The location is great - very close to public transportation, shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, and wonderful views of Amsterdam's canals. The place is clean, comfortable, and very quiet. Frank even gave us a bottle of wine which we drank with dinner at the apartment (purchased at the grocery store). When traveling in Europe I try as much as possible to stay in VRBO apartments to save money, not just on hotels but also on meals. This apartment was one of the best we have stayed in.

GEZELLIG!!!

  • 5 of 5
We lived in Holland for three years in the 70's. Been back often. Usually stayed in a hotel near Leiden. This time we picked a mid Amsterdam rental near Leidseplein. Very, clean, quiet, modern and safe. Recently renovated to a very high standard. The owner (Frank) is easily accessible and very helpful. It is close to the Rijksmuseum and transportation is a breeze on the tram. A day ticket is 7.50 Euros. Cab to Schipol is 35-40 Euros from the Leidseplein.
