Vacation Homes in Marco Island House Rental Photos and Description
Welcome to our family home. This lovely ranch is located on a canal, with a two-story screened-in lanai, swimming pool with spa, outdoor bar with access to kitchen, full dock, and sliding doors that open to the lanai from great room, family room, master bedroom and front bedroom. The master suite is separate from the two guest bedrooms and has a dressing room, walk-in closet and private shower. There is custom tile throughout the home as well as the pool area, and the beautiful landscaping on the large lot provides flowers year-round. The extra-large dock is our sundeck, so you can hang out and watch the dolphins while tanning, or drop your kayak in the canal and paddle around the mangrove islands. We have three bicycles in the garage, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, anything you need for a fun day in Marco. Top it off with a visit to one of the excellent restaurants, a movie, or maybe a sunset walk on the beach. Watch the moonrise from the lanai and enjoy a midnight swim in the pool. The possibilities are endless!

About Nancy Parsons
My name is Nancy Parsons and I live in Ann Arbor Michigan. I grew up in Rochester, MI, but then moved up north to beautiful Traverse City, where I spent 30 years teaching high school and raising my daughters. I've also been coming to Marco Island since the early 1980's, when my parents discovered this gorgeous island. My girls and their cousins grew up playing with the geckos, carousing in the pool, cruising in the boat, digging enormous holes in the beach, grilling with Grandma and Grandpa, watching the pelicans fish and picking hibiscus flowers while moms and dads enjoyed the outdoor bar, boating, dining and relaxing!
Nancy Parsons purchased this house in 1985
Why Nancy Parsons chose Vacation Homes in Marco Island
My parents bought this house after visiting Marco Island for many years. When they first came to see it, a Great Blue Heron welcomed them, stalking about as if he owned the place. Jerry, as he was named, allowed them to buy his home and it was subsequently named Heron House. My brothers and I, and eventually our children as well, have been coming here for the last twenty years. Unfortunately, our parents have passed away, and with their absence, Jerry quit coming around too. On my last visit, however, he came back and said hello! We have lots of other wildlife, however, especially living across from Sanctuary Bay, where flocks of heron, along with pelicans, egrets, ibis, and osprey land every evening to join the dolphins and manatee at play. After much thought, my family and I have decided to share our home with others, so they, too, could appreciate what a peaceful and fun place we have here, and our home will always be filled with laughter and warm memories in the making.
What makes this house unique
We feel that Heron House is extra-special because of its location, with the canal on one side and Sanctuary Sound on the other. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood, close to the beaches, restaurants and stores. There is light reflected off water throughout the house, and enough room for people to be together, or not to be together. Our pool is larger than average, our sunsets sublime.
