Our Christmas Geteway

The Alpine Pension provided sufficient bedrooms so that we were all accommodated comfortably. The several sitting areas and the sun room provided many nice places to congregate. The listing information was quite accurate and allowed us to make bedroom assignments prior to our arrival. It was quite convenient to downtown Leavenworth with its beautiful lighting displays…it was the best ever. We sampled a traditional German meal, but most often we had meals at the house which provided a large table where we could all sit. It was convenient to a hiking trail across the street that provided access to a beautiful mountain trail. The snow was good, so we took advantage of the local ski area and the cross-country tracks at the Fish Hatchery. One day, two of our out of town guests drove to Stevens Pass for a day at skiing in really great snow. We were there through a Sunday so we attended Mass at the beautiful Our Lady of the Snows parish church. It was a wonderful parish community with a very welcoming priest. One of our grandkids at one time during our stay remarked to my wife: “Mimi, am I dreaming?” That kind of sums up our memorable stay at the Alpine Pension which was so reminiscent of our many vacations in the Alps when we lived in Europe.
