Came down for my sisters wedding. We had my parents and our two kids (9,11). The home was very comfortable. The kids LOVED the backyard. Played many hours of badminton. A bit too cool for the pool, but that didn't stop the kids. The master bedroom is massive and the entire house is filled with beautiful trip memories. Very comfortable and would highly recommend the place. Plenty of space for the 6 of us.
We rented this home for our 21st anniversary trip for my husband and I. We brought our sons with us so we wanted a little bit more space. The home was perfect for out trip! We used to live in San Rafael so it was fun to return to all our favorite spots on 4th St. Sol Food, Yum! We loved the location of the home and went on a nice hike everyday. Great proximity to go to San Fran and Napa Valley areas. The home had plenty of space for all of us and the yard is amazing and so is the view! I can't wait to return in warmer weather so we can use the pool next time and more of the outdoor space. Nicely decorated and comfortable! Liz was very accommodating and we will definatly return.
We rented this home to be a central location for our 50th High school class reunion Saturday evening, and a Barbeque on Sunday at Rancho Nicasio plus visiting with some of our old friends at the house for dinner and laughs!! We four ladies, all from out of town, had a very relaxed and wonderful time reconnecting while staying in this very warm and inviting home. We so admired how Liz decorated which showed her travels and she was most accommodating especially letting my son bring his dogs over for a day while he visited and swam in the pool. It was a lot of fun but a short four days and we all wanted to stay longer.. So This will Most definitely be a home to rent again!
We had a lovely time at Liz's home and she was a very gracious and helpful hostess. She answered all questions quickly, gave us travel advice and left extensive information sheet for everything in the home. There were six of us and we spent the majority of our time by the pool, swimming and watching the birds. We loved waking up to sound of the birds singing each morning! We walked to Panama Hotel for Sunday morning brunch, the food was good but the service was a little slow. It took us a little while to get our sleeping arrangements set. We added an air bed upstairs and one of us slept on the couch, but it worked out fine in the end. The only thing I wondered about was the per night price. It turned out to be higher than the price listed on VRBO due to seasonal increases. That's completely understandable but should be changed. All in all, a very nice rental.
We had a great time here, especially on the warm and sunny days we were able to enjoy the saline pool. Liz was warmly accommodating to us (and to our lab who extends his heartfelt thanks for letting him enjoy the pool). This house and yard are beautiful and in a terrific location to enjoy all the Bay Area has to offer. We had lived in San Francisco for many years and visit often and location is a high priority for us yet we don't like the hectic atmosphere of the City so much anymore. The Larkspur ferry to San Francisco is minutes away from this house, plus it is centrally located to all the interesting little towns and attractions in Marin County (San Anselmo, Pt. Reyes Station, Sausalito, Mill Valley, ...) and has easy access to the freeway. Another important feature for us is that the house is on a dead end street next to a wild area that allowed us to appreciate the incredible natural beauty of Marin from the back yard, patios and steps from the front door into the woods. (Advice to vegetarians/vegans: Despite recommendations from previous reviewers, skip Sol Food -- their one veg option is dismal.)
Liz is the most generous host and her beautiful home and grounds provided an wonderful gathering space for our stay. Comfortable and colorful, we found everything we needed to feed a group. We'll be back!
The house is in a woodsy setting with lots of birds, songbirds, hawks etc. There is a basketball area in front. Volleyball or badminton in back yard & a large solar heated pool.
We are 20 minutes to wine country 7 15 to 20 minutes to San Francisco. There is a ferry to San Francisco & one directly to the SF Giants ball park. The Marin airporter is just minutes away. Staying here you enjoy the Bay Area without the cold & fog. I have 2 kayaks docked in sausalito which you are free to use. There are 2 bicycles to use.
