Polynesian Villa is situated mid-island on a professionally landscaped; half-acre lot in one of Fort Myers Beach’s designated “quiet zones”. PV’s deep water canal and lagoon are often visited by dolphins and manatees, not to mention the numerous varieties of fish that can be observed right from your own dock. If you like sugar-white sandy beaches, people watching and beautiful sunsets, you’ll be glad to know that you are just a block and a half away from one of Southwest Florida’s most beautiful beaches. However, if you prefer the peaceful solitude of our own tropical oasis, no problem, just open one of the many glass doors that run the full length of this paradise retreat and slip into your own private (fully caged) heated pool. Or better yet, take a chair to the water’s edge and read a book or just watch the fish jump!

About Polynesian Villa Email
Hugh and I have been visiting Fort Myers Beach for about 6 years. We live in Western PA, just outside of Pittsburgh, in a small town -- just far enough away to call it 'the country'. We both love quiet, peaceful settings where you can get away from the hustle and bustle while still being close enough to get to anything you may need. Fortunately, we've found that on Fort Myers Beach as well.

Why Polynesian Villa Email chose Fort Myers Beach
We were quite happy with our little cottage get-away up near Times Square when a friend told us about a special mid-island house that had recently come on the market. We fell in love with the property the moment we stepped foot in the front door. Everyone who enters our home makes the same comment about the beautiful view. From every spot in the home you have a gorgeous view of the peaceful canal/lagoon. Professionally landscaped, the property provides a big view of the water while still maintaining a feeling of privacy.
What makes this house unique
We named the home Polynesian Villa to honor the gentleman who built the home in 1966. Born in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1917, Colonel George H. Hollingsworth served 28 years in the United States Air Force before retiring to Fort Myers Beach. Hollingsworth surveyed the sparsely populated area by air in order to locate the perfect spot to build his retirement home, which he mimicked after the peaceful villas he saw while serving as a WWII pilot in the South Pacific. Colonel Hollingsworth also built the Lahaina Inn and established Lahaina Realty, both still on the island today. Stories passed down from the family tell of times where the Colonel hosted dinner parties at the Polynesian Villa with none other than the other famous pilot, Charles Lindbergh. You'll find pictures of the Colonel and his plane in the master bedroom.
