LAKE FRONT CABIN WITH BOAT SLIP- BEAUTIFUL BASS LAKE

Bass Lake Cabin Rental Photos and Description

This home has lake views from every room except the kitchen. The lake water is warm and the beach is the most spacious at Bass. The home is at the base of a mountain, giving it lovely shade and a private, relaxing atmosphere compliments of the gorgeous trees of the Sierra National Forrest. You will have a boat slip steps from your cabin and easy access to Miller's Landing where you can rent your choice of water/boating toys.

When you are not on the lake, enjoy a comfortable, remodeled cabin. Enjoy a sunset, sunrise or meals on the deck overlooking the lake and comfortably seating 10-12. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with lake views and a balcony. Downstairs there is a game room that can be converted to a bedroom sleeping 2; the quaint kitchen with its original wood siding; and a great room where you can enjoy one of two gas stoves for the winter, internet connection, and direct TV.

You are a short walk to a beautiful hiking trail and for the more ambitious outdoorsy types, you are 15 miles from the south gate of spectacular Yosemite National Park.

It's truly a gift and a vacation to remember.

Wonderful vacation! We spent a week in the rental house and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The house is located just across the road from the lake and the views are fantastic from every room. We spent much of our time enjoying the balcony but were able to make excursions to go tubing, jet skiing and a day trip to Yosemite, very nice!
Our only complaint was that the wifi went out about mid-week and despite a couple calls to the owners we weren't able to get it fixed but other than that we enjoyed ourselves.

What an incredible stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this property, located on the quieter side of the lake, just steps from the private dock and shore. We had in-laws from Scotland, as well as our two young children, six people in total. The house was spacious, clean and up-to-date, bright and open, and perfectly stocked. The upstairs porch, as well as the front outdoor seating area, were wonderful to lounge in, with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning or a glass of wine at the end of a long day. We enjoyed boating on the lake, jumping off the dock, picnic dinners on the beach, relaxing evenings on the deck under the stars, and cozy nights on the couch with cable, DVDs, games and Wi-Fi. Overall a really, really lovely stay!

My only warning is to families with young children. The rental is very close to the road and there is no fence or enclosure of any kind. The owners did leave a note about this, and we were very careful. Also, the two main bedrooms have murphy beds and bunk beds high off the ground. If you have small children, they may need the extra room downstairs (which had a twin bed with pull-out trundle) or a pack-n-play type mobile crib. We brought one along just in case and were really glad we did.

Finally, we've always known about the chance of black bears at Bass Lake but didn't think too much about it. But on our second night, we were lucky enough to catch one going through our trash! A major highlight for us, but a word of warning to be mindful of securing trash and food safely, too.

A Perfect Experience at Bass Lake

We decided rather last minute late August 2012 to make a Yosemite trip, first time visit for my wife, kids, and in-laws - and ended up staying in this house primarily because the owner was so easy to work with. It was great to have all the amenities such as towels and linens included as we arrived from Southern California at 12:30am and the big beds were ready to go and the kids' bunks were a matter of a sheet or sleeping bag (very warm nights in Summer). Directly across the street from the lake, literally 50 yards to the water, was a beach area for our 3 kiddies to splash around (2012 lake water level was low for dam construction so beach size may vary) and convenient dock to utilize for watercraft or boats. House was immaculately clean, with newer addition to an original cabin with all wood kitchen. We enjoyed dining on the beautiful deck and lake view for breakfast and dinners, there was TV/DVD and games for the kids. The first morning, the kids were on the upstairs deck outside the bedroom and were excited to see deer eating berries toward the back of the house. The location is on the less-crowded side of the lake near The Forks, which is a quintessential cabin-style store/diner which is famous for it's classic breakfast and hamburgers, and has convenient limited groceries, primarily for a day at the lake, or a milk-run if you need it. You can also rent boats there too. Easy drive across the lake to more conveniences, groceries/restaurants/post office/marina. Nearby Oakhurst has most everything, including a Rite-Aid/pharmacy, etc. We made easy day trip to Yosemite Valley floor one day, and another day to Wawona for lunch and the Sequoia Grove, after the Sugar Pine steam railroad (located outside the Yosemite park near Fish Camp). The $20 per car Yosemite fee is good for 7 days, so this was perfect to day-trip twice, if you don't mind the curvy roads...,
All-in-all this was a perfect stay with lasting memories, and would certainly return here again as it felt like our home away from home.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much, I really appreciate the review. I know writing one is a pain but once again, thanks so much.
