I am a Retired housewife, a resident of McMinnville for many years. My daughter Janet and her husband Michael manage this property for me.
This property has been in the family for years and has been extensively remodeled.
What sets this home apart for me is the first impression from the street. The river rock and stone accents on the garage and entry stairs give the home a 'vacation' feel right off. As you enter the front door my eyes are drawn to the pebble entry surface, the bamboo hardwood floors, then up to the high ceilings. The great room and kitchen with it's stainless steel appliances and stone aggragate counter give it an up to date feel. The beds are well appointed and comfortable. Decks off of 2 of the bedrooms are spacious and inviting. I hope you find my home to your liking as well.
What a great location to stay when visiting Linfield College. We were in town to visit our son who attends Linfield and couldn't have found a better place than this to stay! It is within easy walking distance of the school and close to McMinnville's wonderful downtown area. The house is very comfortable and clean with a fully stocked modern kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and the neighborhood quiet. A nice feature was being able to use the garage for our rental car. We will be sure to be back on on next trip to McMinnville! Highly recommend by everyone in our party!
This wonderful little house just a few blocks from Linfield College was a great choice for our trip to Willamette Valley wine country! The beds were extremely comfortable, the house was beautiful, and there were lots of games and books available. The owners even provided Wi-fi, coffee, and breakfast for us (stawberries, eggs, and muffins), and a bottle of white wine.
When I'm on vacation with family and friends, one of the things I like to make sure to do is to have a communal cooking session and a home-cooked meal. This house is perfectly laid out for just that, with a nice big kitchen island and a cozy dining room that seats 6 comfortably, 8 if you squeeze. They stocked plenty of cooking utensils for us as well as basic pantry items like spices and olive oil, and there is an Albertson's grocery store just down the street. We made good use of the propane grill on the patio, as well.
Each room has its own temperature controls, so different types of sleepers don't have to argue with one another, and having two showers makes it easy to cycle people through in the morning.
The owners are very responsive and have clearly thought a great deal about how to appoint this home for the best vacation experience. Highly recommended!
My family and I loved our stay in this very clean and modern house. Everything in the house was soo convenient along with the check-in and check-out process. The owner even left us some wine, snacks, and fruits which was soo nice as we were in such a major rush. Honesty this was a such a beautiful house and with a backyard for a BBQ as well. They even provide you with a ton of board games and everything. It would be a great place for anyone to stay for a vacation in McMinnville.
-very clean! Lots of cleaning supplies to clean yourself (we stayed for a month, so this was important)
-wine, sparkling wine and muffins left for us by Janet (the home owner)
-kitchen is stocked with all that you need to cook if you'd like
- a short walk to (6 blocks to main street (3rd street), 3 blocks to the park
-there are games, books, foosball and Netflix if you need it for the kids
-keyless entry - no keys, that was convenient
-check in and check out process was very easy
-Janet is very responsive if you need something
This is one of the most thoughtfully appointed properties that we have stayed in and is in a very quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is well stocked for those who like to eat in. A gas grill and several outdoor seating areas are an added bonus. We especially appreciated the screen doors on the bedrooms. A Roth's grocery store is just minutes away and the Thursday afternoon Farmer's Market has excellent vendors. McMinnville has outstanding restaurants, delis and bakeries, but if you happen to be passing through Carlton don't miss Henry's Diner, a food truck located just off Main Street and HWY 47, serving Breakfast and Lunch and the occasional dinner, also the Carlton Bakery. If you enjoy wine tasting, along with the tasting rooms on 3rd Street venture into the Granary District, it is a little off the beaten path, to enjoy some wines being produced by some very innovative wine makers.
All arrangements for reserving the property, making payments and refunding deposits were efficiently managed by the property owner.
We visited this home in late May/early June for our sons graduation from Linfield College. Upon arriving, we were greeted with decorations for our son's graduation, as well as a modern home with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was well supplied with spices, and basic necessities to get our stay started including fresh eggs and coffee. The home also has a patio and several decks with an excellent gas barbeque of which we made use of to host the graduation dinner. During our stay, we were close to restaurants, shops, and Linfield College. We also visited the coast, which was about 70 minutes drive. Other sites visited included garden nurseries, and shopping at several cities within about an hours drive. We visited several wineries of which are plentiful, and loved the more rural area that McMinnville and surrounding area exudes. The home had a varied library for leisure reading, Wi-Fi, Dish Satellite TV, and a very nicely stocked kitchen if you desire to cook on premises. If we get the opportunity to return to the area, this house will be on our list.
