Welcome to Sleepy Bear Cabin, Big Bear’s premiére and affordable staycation destination. Enjoy this spa like retreat just steps from the lake. This newly remodeled 2 +1.75 cabin is only six houses up the street from Big Bear Lake and around the corner from the boat rental and public launch. Sleepy Bear Cabin is located only only one mile from the village and minutes from Snow Summit and Bear Mountain resorts.

Everything in the house is newly remodeled with convenience and warm relaxation in mind. Pull up in the driveway with a peekaboo view of the lake and you are just steps from the front door. When entering the cabin you are immediately greeted by a bright, beautiful open floor plan, knotty pine ceilings and rustic hardwood floors. Is there a chef in the house? The newly remodeled kitchen with stainless steel appliances and spacious butcher block counter tops are a must for any cook and will be enjoyed by all.

Come in and relax. Activate the new gas fireplace by a flip of a switch and your vacation begins. No using wood in this fireplace–it is gas only, which leaves you more time to relax. Feeling chilly? Just turn on the blower or turn on the brand new furnace which will raise the temperature to toasty warm in a matter of minutes.

Cuddle up and enjoy the spacious deck with views of the 60 foot majestic pines located on the property. Grill something and take advantage of some outdoor dining. Snow showers in the winter or meteor showers in the summer, the deck is a perfect place to star gaze and enjoy the outdoors. Did we mention there’s a hot tub? After a hard day of hitting the slopes or hitting the trails come and relax in the hot tub. Let the jets remove all the soreness and tension or turn the jets off and just soak up the breeze, the stillness and the beauty of Big Bear Lake.

This property is in a great location with peekaboo views of the lake from the front porch and very close to the slopes and shopping. Ceiling fans and new windows allow for the clean mountain air to pass though the home. The cabin is in a beautiful and quite neighborhood ideal for relaxing. It has a large two tier deck perfect for grilling, dining hot tubbing and lounging. This cabin was purchased as a retreat from the fast paced city and with it's prime location, wonderful open concept and large beautiful deck it accomplishes it's goal.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin has it all: Cook's kitchen with stainless steel appliances, large deck with outdoor dining, grille and hot tub, two bedrooms, new tile shower, new bathtub with tile surround, hardwood floors, tongue and groove wood ceilings,gas fireplace, central furnace, two (2) recliners, sleeper sofa, dinning kitchen peninsula and open concept floor plan. Pack&Play baby bed. Boat parking out front during the summer.

Adorable and cozy!,

We had a wonderful stay at the "Sleepy Bear" cabin. The cabin is nicely kept, very clean, newly remodeled, has two comfy recliners, a great couch, nice fireplace, etc... overall -super cozy! A great backyard for kids to run and play. A nice little bbq and a fantastic hot tub! A beautiful walk down to the lake is right outside the front door. A short drive to the village, slopes and tubing. Our kids didn't want to leave! Our son wrote about it at school, in his kindergarten "writers workshop" as the highlight of his spring break and drew pictures of the cabin! We look forward to spending another vacation there. We highly recommend the "Sleepy Bear Cabin" and the owner couldn't be nicer! He was very accommodating and helpful.

We had such a relaxing time! This cabin is the PERFECT escape when you need it! 10 minutes to the slopes and a hot tub to soak away the soreness! It couldn't have been better. The upgrades, decor, and amenities were OUTSTANDING! This is the cabin to rent! Thank you again!

This cabin is wonderful. Very clean and on a quiet street. We spent four great days in Big Bear and had everything we needed. I would recommend this cabin to everyone, especially families with small children like us. There is a good sized fenced yard so the kids can run around and have fun. We are all looking forward to staying here again.

Cozy, Clean Home Away From Home

As soon as we opened the door, we knew we had made the right decision in selecting our "home away from home" for our special Big Bear Getaway Weekend. We are a family of three, with one on the way, so we wanted to be sure to find a 2-year old friendly, two bedroom home with an updated kitchen and a big backyard. Sleepy Bear Cabin fit the bill and had a hot tub to boot! The neighborhood was nice and quite and it was a quick walk to the lake. The home was clean, well-maintained and had a beautiful, cozy fireplace. We left the cabin twice to sled, but other than that, we spent the majority of our time cooking, cuddling and playing in the house. A great home for a small family or two couples for a relaxing, winter weekend.

This was the first time for me and my girl friend in Big Bear. (At least in the past 30 years.) What was most important to us besides being located near Big Bear Lake was that the unit had a Fire Place and Hot Tub. It did and we used both constantly. It was as others have said remodeled and they did a nice job. It was decorated as you would expect a big bear house to be. I had spoken to Charles the owner of the house many times prior to arriving and he was really helpful in planning our 4 nights. We cooked all of our meals in the house. The kitchen was top notch and we certainly utilized the little Weber BBQ. We never went out for a meal which is not our normal. We were hammered with snow for a day and 1/2 and it was the perfect house to spend a romantic snow day in. We used the Cable TV for piped in music and could not have asked for more. The location was perfect. We went both sledding and snow shoeing within a couple of miles of the house. Snow summit is maybe a 10 minute drive. We actually walked to the Village (about a mile) which was crazy in 20 degree temps. When we go up again we will stay in the same house.
