|Minimum Stay||2 - 4 nights|
This unique oceanfront home in Seal Rock offers breathtaking views from almost every room! There is a private staircase that leads you down to the sand with a new vista from each landing! With 60 steps between you and the sand, it's still a manageable distance to walk whenever you want to enjoy the beach, but high enough to provide amazing views.
The home features three bedrooms that are all spacious and inviting. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom features a queen as well and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with a full bed on bottom and a twin on top. There is also a full futon in the upstairs bedroom, bringing total guests allowed up to nine, however three to four of the guests should be children or young adults.
The main level of the home was recently updated and the open floor plan makes it a great place for family gatherings. The main living room features a cozy gas fireplace and large windows facing the ocean so it is a great place rain or shine, as you can storm-watch during the rainy season and watch a beautiful sunset during the summer or fall. The kitchen is tastefully appointed and there is a nice dining table that expands to create seating for eight.
The best feature of the home is undoubtedly the amazing private stairwell down to the beach that leads off the deck. The stairwell features two benches along the way that make the perfect romantic location for watching the sun dip into the sea! The beach below is a long stretch of sandy beach that ends in a small wetlands area as you approach the house. It is very quiet beach so it is an excellent place for discovering shells and sand dollars.
Seal Rock is a quaint yet interesting town with some local artisans and restaurants. If you are looking for a little more action, Newport is just a short 10-15 minute drive away!

Were here Feb. 8-11, 2015. Sunday night through Monday, a massive storm with pelting rain and 70 mph winds kept us inside where it was warm and cozy. The fenced yard allowed us to let the dog out without facing putting on full rain gear to face the storm. House was clean, roomy, very comfortable couches and great views. The back yard and deck are about as private as you can get on the Oregon Coast without finding an expensive estate. The stairs to the beach weren't a problem for us, actually good exercise but with all the rain the bottom of stairs was water 6 inches deep. There were logs that were easy to walk on if you aren't frail but would be a problem for some. Probably dry in the summer and not an issue. Garage would be very welcome in a storm like we had but it was too low for our 4X4 pickup. Not complaining. Just wanted to mention the garage since many don't have one. Beach had few people since there are no big resorts on this stretch.
The easy of doing business with Vacasa was just as good as this amazing house we stayed in. The Sea Drifter is the best of all worlds. Location, privacy of the home, private beach access, the view from all rooms in the house, the layout of the home, amenities, and cleanliness made this one of the best times my family has had on a weekend getaway. My children, wife and I will make Sea Drifter a regular family vacation spot because of the house and Vacasa.
I had high hopes for this vacation rental after reading the previous reviews. We were not disappointed! All of us loved this warm, welcoming old house that has been maintained very well and updated with lots of amenities. It was a dream beach house from the huge windows with the unparallelled view of the ocean to the comfy, beautiful furniture to the deck with chairs and table. Our 3 children were so happy here, not a fight was heard, just playing all day in the sand (we got very lucky with 3 sunny warm days in January!). It was truly a magical vacation and I hope we return to the Seadrifter.
A very, very special place to spend a week. It was the silver lining in a trip that went sideways after our transmission blew on the way to CA and we had to wait a week for it to be fixed.
Our clan ranged in age from 17 to 87, and everyone loved our stay. The active ones walked and ran on the beach and nearby forest trails, while the others were happy enjoying the view from the deck or exploring the nearby coast by car. Kitchen had everything we needed. The spot is quiet and feels secluded. Great location!
Nothing better to wake up and fall asleep to the ocean view! we had stormy weather and that made it all the better!! Will definatly stay here again.. the steps down to the sand are not that bad and would rather have the long walk down and the view then a no walk down and no view of the ocean fenced in yard made it so easy for my dog to run around. away from hwy 101 was perfect!!!
