Thank you so much for letting us hire beautiful Blo Norton Hall. we have all had a lovely weekend and the weather was so good to us till Monday- but we were going by then so it did not matter so much. We hired Emma to cater for us on Saturday night and that was wonderful-everyone enjoyed it even out picky little ones! Thank you

lovely character barn

  • 4 of 5

lovely old barn, well equipped, bed linen and towels very clean.

however, shame about the high legged beds, not suitable for the not very tall, or elderly resident.. legs need to be chopped off to give a lovely view out of the windows while still in bed. just cant see the point especially painted bright blue, not in keeping with the barn. the toaster only worked on one side, the light bulbs in lamps in main area 3 were broken or not working, and the light over mirror in bathroom only working on one side.

The windows and doors need a good clean. where is the window cleaner !.

But we had a lovely weekend regardless.

Fantastic house for a great family party weekend

  • 5 of 5

We had a brilliant weekend at Blo Norton to celebrate my 60th, with all the extended family there. Everybody thought the house was stunning - good facilities but not modernised, oozing with character. The staff and management were also extremely helpful. Lopham Fen is well worth a visit - even in mid Feb we had a lovely walk. Thoroughly recommended - might even go back for my 70th !

Lovely Old House

  • 5 of 5

We often stay in large houses and have done so for many years with the same bunch of friends, Blo Norton Hall is now added to our favourite list. The house was surprisingly warm and cosy for such an old house. We enjoyed the open fires and the walks in the woods. The house was very clean and well equipped. The maintenance man arrived promptly to sort out a minor problem we had. We also enjoyed the table tennis and would recommend a clay shoot with Andrew from How To Break Clays. I have a couple of suggestions - a larger TV would be good in the main lounge and some of the mattresses need replacing. We did also miss not having an aga as you often do in the larger houses. None of these spoilt our stay through, as we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Thank you to Sue for all her help and answers to my questions.

Absolutely stunning

  • 5 of 5

Well, what can I say other than absolutely stunning, felt like the Lord and Lady of the Manor. Great venue for my parents 60th wedding anniversary celebrations with friends and family. House very well equipped, bedrooms to die for and the location and grounds were beautifull. Thanks to all the staff who managed the property especially Sue who gave me all the advise and information I asked for. Thanks also to the housekeepers and the maintenance guy who showed us around. The house was spotless. Will definitely be back, possibly for a Christmas.

Beautiful Old English House

  • 4 of 5

We came with the whole family to celebrate my dad's 70th Birthday with ages ranging from 92 to 11 years old. The house is extremely beautiful although we felt it was a little run down in places. There were a few things mentioned on the website that were not actually there. (the aga and 42 inch television). However overall we had a wonderful time, the grounds were beautiful as were the log fires which kept my Grandad busy, we also had a table tennis tournament in the lovely games room. We had a fabulous meal provided by Good for a Party and we had dinner in the local pub the White Horse both were excellent and I would recommend highly. It will be a weekend that my family will remember for a long time thank you.

The Village itself is surrounded by quiet lanes, ideal for walking, cycling and painting and is close to Redgrave and Lopham Fen. Blo Norton Hall is the perfect choice for a relaxed stay in the East Anglian Countryside.

Blo Norton is situated close to the picturesque Norfolk and Suffolk Borders making it ideal to explore all that both counties have to offer.

Blo Norton lies on the River Little Ouse which separates Suffolk from Norfolk.

The Hall reputedly provided the setting for Virginia Wolf’s short story The Journal of Miss Joan Martyn. In the story the main character, Rosamund Merridew, is a historian researching England's land-tenure system
