Villa Oreia (Greek for beautiful), a luxury villa, built from locally excavated stone, in a quiet lane above Elounda. Views over sea/mountains. The villa is a 10mn walk from blue flag beaches and Elounda, tavernas and shops, the best of both worlds, quiet and convenient!. Off road parking. Free welcome pack and quality toiletries. Linen/towels supplied, 2 hairdryers. Bedroom 1, lots of storage, shower room/ own balcony with chairs and coffee table, air con. Bedroom 2, plenty of storage, access to garden, air con. 2nd bathroom with bath. In living area on first floor: TV + DVD + stereo, 2 sofas, coffee table, sideboard, dining set. Fitted kitchen: microwave, full oven, kettle, toaster. 2 large fans. Large outside first floor terrace with dining table and chairs, BBQ-grill and pergola/flowers/plants. In garden: sunbeds, table and chairs, large jacuzzi (spa), flowers/plants. Free mid week cleaning. Z bed available. Friendly English management. All you need for a perfect relaxing holiday!

Pano Elounda is a traditional Cretan village, a peaceful 10mn walk from the town and beaches of Elounda (9 of whiich are Blue Flag). In Elounda you will find tavernas, local 'kafenions' (Greek cafés), bars, plenty of shops, a local market on Friday,.doctors, chemists, a bank, a post office and internet cafe's. Very nearby is Plaka, famous for its fish restaurants and opposite is Spinalonga Isand (a short boat trip from Elounda), built by the Venetians in 1579. Archaeological sites nearby include Olous, the sunken city dating back to 780AD in Elounda itself. On the road to Kritsa you will find Lato, an impressive archaeological site with free admission. The town of Aghios Nikolaos is 9km away (a bus takes 15 minutes, 1.50 Euro) with a lake, shops, bars, tavernas and a market on Wednesdays. All the above are a short distance or drive away, or you can stay in or close to Elounda, and still see famous sites, sample Greek culture, great food and a relaxed lifestyle,! Crete has it all!

The Experience: We really want you to have a great experience at Villa Oreia, so please feel free to enquire about any other requirements that you have and we will always try to meet them. A bottle of champagne in the fridge, a birthday cake, etc, just ask! We also take very seriously any problems that you encounter. Whether it is turning on the spa, how to work the oven , a light bulb needing to be replaced, e.t.c. again please ask at the time. We would rather know about them and resolve any issues there and then than detract from you having a great holiday because of any annoying issues! Any other questions? Just ask!

The Local Area : Pano (Upper) Elounda is a traditional Cretan viillage very close to the town of Elounda, so you get peace and quiet at the villa and no annoying bar noise at night!. With its own handful of small Taverna's Pano Elounda is the true Greek experience. Fourni is a short drive away, a beautiful village with a fantastic Taverna. Many other pretty villages and towns are really close to hand. If you feel like venturing futher afield Knossos is about 45 minutes away by car, Festos is also well worth visiting. There are plenty of activities that can be found in and around Elounda, and ruins too. We are happy to find out about any particular activity or interest for you, just ask. Local buses are quite regular and are cheap, plus fun! For instance you can get a bus to Agios Nikolaos and enjoy some time there, or, from Agios Nikolaos go to Heraklion, it is a great bus journey all along the coast going via many pretty villages. Buses from Agios Nikolaos and Heraklion go to many other locations.
