We have owned this home for 10 years and recently decided to turn it into a vacation rental. Our primary home is in Nashville, TN. We have 3 children and a dog. Lindsay Sanford purchased this house in 2003
We stayed in the Hayden house the week after Christmas. We found everything to be very clean and neat. The owners even left bottled water and other supplies for us to use free of charge. We found the beds to be very comfortable. There is a nice courtyard in the back that is great for relaxing. The neighborhood is quiet, beautiful, and great for taking walks. We would definitely recommend this vacation home to anyone that is traveling to Orlando and wants to be convenient to downtown.
We enjoyed our stay over Halloween weekend. Very close to all the events in downtown and super close to I4 which can pretty much get u anywhere in orlando in 15min. The house nicely decorated, very clean, and hidden away in great neighborhood. I felt it was a great bargain when compared to many downtown hotels with a great amount of privacy. I would defiantly rent it again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The location was in a wonderful spot tucked away in the College Park area. I commented several times on how nice and quiet it was there, considering you were right on top of the neighbors. It’s in a very well kept sub division that's close to some beautiful lakes/parks overlooking downtown Orlando. You’re also just a few miles to Winter Park (right off of Edgewater and Colonial, for those who are familiar with the area). There are a lot of shopping/grocery/restaurants and bars all within close vicinity too.
The home itself was minimally decorated with IKEA furniture (i.e. platform beds) and in need of a little TLC here and there. It’s a small, two bedroom, and one bath bungalow house with a mini-backyard and enough sheltered parking for two. There were fresh linens and a few towels in the bedroom closets. We also found plenty of kitchen utensils, pots/pans and plates/cups available too. This is an added convenience so you don't need to worry about adding to your packing list.
The owner, Lindsay, was very pleasant to work with and communicated with me promptly from start to finish. That definitely helps with making the whole experience more enjoyable!
My only suggestion would be to maybe add a small grill for guest use. We brought our own; Florida weather is very conducive to cookouts!
Thank You for opening your home to us to enjoy! I can't imagine another vacation in a hotel, so I appreciate the opportunity to take advantage of rentals such as these.
Overall, we were very happy with our amenities and would definitely rent here again in the future. :)
This was our fist time visiting Disney World and Universal Studios. We are so glad we stayed here rather than one of the resorts. The house was tastefully decorated with all the comforts of home. THe beds were so comfortable. My husband and I commented we got the best sleep we've had in a while. We were able to experience the city of Orlando and the various neighborhoods which were rich with culture, great food and shopping. There is fantastic sushi and Vietnamese food, coffee shops and boutiques within a few miles of this place. The neighborhood is quiet and easy to walk. There was a lake nearby with parks and is a great place to stroll and walk pets. We would like to go back to Orlando again and see more. THere is a lot more to do than we expected.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. My wife had knee surgery while we were here and it was extremely well located, close to Florida Hospital at Altamonte and easy access to Route 4. A wonderful location for any trip in a very nice neighborhood with lakes and beautiful homes throughout the area. We also attended events at the Amway Center which is just 1.6 miles from the property. A short drive to all Orlando area attractions and about an hour drive to east coast beaches. Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, and New Smyrna beaches are all a short drive away. It was important for us to be able have our dog with us while we were there and the owners were very accommodating to our needs. We had an extra deposit for our dog which was fully refunded after our stay. The home was very comfortable and very clean with shopping, restaurants, and boutiques near by. My wife's addiction to Dunkin Donuts coffee was able to be satisfied with a very short drive! All in all a very nice experience! The owners were only an email away and were very prompt in responding to any of our questions. We very heartily recommend this property!
The house is in a great location to many places to eat and for entertainment. The owners were very accessible and helpful when ever I had questions. The property was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this property to friends for any length of stay. The house was better than expected.
I'm a 60 year old woman from Toronto who spent the month of Jan primarily alone with a senior Jack Russell Terrier at this downtown Orlando property. The house itself was clean, well-maintained, tastefully decorated and very spacious for a 2 bedroom bungalow. The layout of the house has great flow. Outside of 2 days with a car, I relied on Lynx transit to get around Orlando with a weekly bus pass. The house is a 5 min bus ride from Lynx Central Station where you can connect to everything Orlando including a 30 min bus #11 to the airport. I worked on my Mac in the pleasant sunroom with uninterrupted internet access, went to the downtown flagship central Florida YMCA and discovered Orlando as the hidden gem beyond its theme park popularity. I felt perfectly safe at all times in this house, the established College Park neighbourhood and on walks with my dog. My husband could only stay briefly due to work commitments. We both recommend this property for its access to amenities especially for the traveller without a car. In my own opinion this property excelled its HomeAway description and is very accurately showcased. Orlando is a beautiful city with wonderful parks, farmers markets (the one in Winter Park was fabulous) and historic urban neighbourhoods. Lindsay's house provided the perfect backdrop to explore it from. Thank you Lindsay for an enjoyable stay in your home. Marilyn from Toronto
