Self-catering rental, spacious villa sleep 10 with lots of sports opportunities

The country house is nestled off the beaten tracks at 10 minutes from Aix en Provence surrounded by oak trees, beautiful lavander-field , orleanders and roses. Facing due south, the architect-designed house has a very large living room and wide sliding doors that open up to the flowered terrace and outdoor dining area. Our tennis-court is protected against wind and you can play all year round.The 5 hectare totally enclosed grounds has an amateur 3 hole golfgreen (astroturf/plastic) with 9 tee offs from the rough ground ( par 4: 236 m ), a full sized professional, hard surface tennis court, a swing; the swimming pool is an impressive 15 x 4 m with diving board and an isle is separating an additional shallow area. By the swimming pool with the 'summer kitchen' there are several cosy sitting areas and sunchairs.

There is a vineyard and a fig tree with a never ending supply of figs.

No pets allowed. No smoking inside the house, please :-)

Additional Information about the rental.

Twice a week 3h housekeeping is included as well our gardener comes along for the swimming pool and garden, heating(May-Sepember) and electricity included, bed sheets and towls are included, final cleaning included.

About Traudi

We are Europans and lived in several cities in Europa. Before we came to France we were more than 10 years in Munich and now we are already over 10 years here in Eguilles.

Traudi purchased this chateau / country house in 2012
Why Traudi chose Eguilles

Because our children were taught French at school we decided to spend our summer vacation in Sanary sur Mer, several years in a row.. When the retirement come up we wanted to spend more time in this area but closer to an important city. This resulted in our present wonderful country house in Eguilles: practically next to Aix en Provence, the most sought after city in France.

The country house is close to everything...and far away from everything. You walk out the property along the vinyards for hours without seeing a soul, while being in 10 min. in Aix, 30min. in Marseille intern. Airport , Aix TGV, downtown Marseille , beach or mountains. An agreeable walk along the vineyard (1km) brings you into the little, busy village Eguilles where you find all you need for your daily life. 10km by car or bus brings you to Aix en Provence. It was an old roman settlement, a rather important city, with warm springs. The town itself is a jewel of a Provencals town, everywhere fontains and outdoor markets open every day of the year.

PROVENCE SUMMER FESTIVALS. Musicfestival in Aix is one of the top opera festivals each June/july.

PIANO FESTIVAL Roque d'Antheron (mid.July-mid Aug.)Wonderful beach in Carro (25km) for picnic and long hike or swim in mediterrean sea.

Notes:
Cosy and spacious living room, dining room and a library - through large glass doors, lovely views in to the garden. Very good central heating and an over-sized fireplace. Fully equipped, modern kitchen opens up to the south terrace with another fire place outside and a large table for 8-10. This is the best part of the house almost all year round. This magnificent Provençal villa with its 5 hectares, gives you a lot of privacy, and quiet (!), and the comfort of being within 10 minutes in the center of the city Aix en Provence. Outdoors is our swimming pool (15m long), tennis court, private golf course...... Nearby our house there are the golf courses of Les Milles, Set Club and Pont Royal. Horse back riding is possible.

A great stay for families

We had a great two week stay in Mas des Lavande with 6 adults and 6 young children. Gorgeous swimmingpool, great tenniscourt and very helpful owners and staff (twice a week!). The area is beautiful, with lots of quaint little villages and towns, with little churches and typical French markets. Lots to see and do, even canoeiing. Would recommend it.

Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Owner's Response: In fact that time there have been too many people in our house, but the children were very good and happy and this is important for us. A little artist(4year) made the most fantastic dog with large teeth and other artistic work.

Vielen Dank nochmal für die tollen Ferien die wir bei ihnen verbringen konnten. Das Haus, der wunderschöne Garten und die sportlichen Extras haben sogar bei den Kindern keine Langeweile aufkommen lassen.

Verder hebben wij een fantastische 2 weken gehad in Mas des Bories. Een fijn huis op een heerlijke plek, prachtig zwembad en de tennisbaan was ook een mooie bonus. Af en toe wat last van de wespen, maar dat mag de pret niet drukken. Ik zal uw huis van harte aanbevelen aan vrienden die eventueel ooit uw kant op willen komen.

Delightful property in beautiful grounds charmingly decorated with highly original ceramics. The tennis court was a great addition. The sofa room upstairs is probably best suited to children. The guardian and gardener were both charming and helpful and the village of Eguilles is close enough for the more energetic to jog out for the breakfast croissants. Recommended!
