Relax and indulge in this Bahama Shores gem. A spacious and impeccable Classic Florida ranch decorated in a vintage Mid-century Modern style. Relax in the spectacular pool surrounded by your very own tropical oasis. Close to trendy downtown St Pete and to the beautiful St. Pete beaches!
This home is located in the popular Bahama Shores neighborhood. Located just six miles from Downtown St. Pete and three miles from St Pete Beach, Bahama Shores is a friendly yet exclusive community with an 'Old Florida' feel. The main entrance welcomes you with brick streets and a canopy of towering old oak trees. Full of elegant one-story ranch homes with impeccable style and attention to detail, you will quickly fall in love with Bahama Shores. Everyone in Bahama Shores has waterfront access through the neighborhood's public park that provides for many outdoor waterfront activities. Enjoy kayaking, fishing and the friendliest neighbors you could ever want.
We rented this house as a starting point for our relocation to St. Petersburg while we searched for permanent residence and couldn't have asked for a better set up. There was plenty of room to spread out with nice touches by the owners with the interior finishes that made it feel warm and welcoming. The backyard oasis sold us in the pictures when we were searching VRBO for short term rental options and did not disappoint during our stay. Morning coffee out by the pool was a weekend ritual.
The owners of this home are fine hosts and very responsive.
Outdoors, the recently-added pool and patio complex is a wonderful addition to this historic property. An egret named Max drops by now and then to see what tidbit you've got to share. This can be great fun (or you can ignore Max). The lot is wide and spacious, with a gigantic Banyon tree and lovely tropical plantings. A new grapefruit tree may provide fruit in winter, and a lime tree provides fresh limes in season. A covered outdoor deck protects you from afternoon rains. Both the lawn and pool are serviced, although you may want to skim the pool or clear the patio with a provided blower now and then.
The location is minutes south of downtown and St. Pete's fab restaurants, museums, shops, nightlife and Bay-side activities. You are just 15 minutes from St. Pete Beach and the Don Cesar Resort. Summer baseball fans can enjoy the Tampa Bay Rays, not 10 minutes away. Or if football is your passion, you can head into Tampa for a Buccaneers game.
Inside the home are two living areas, a dining area, two baths and three queen bedrooms. We were pleased with the quantity of sheets and towels provided, as well as a washer and dryer. The wireless works great; just reboot if it blanks out after an electrical storm.
The owners' house notes provide a fine overview of things to do. Read them closely. One favorite suggestion was Maximo Seafood, about 10 minutes west. This was a fun place to buy fresh fish and join the regulars for a beer. Also, don't miss the sunsets at Hurricane, PassAGrille.
We grilled outside most nights (good grill!), but we also cooked in the very well-equipped, small kitchen. You will need spices, soaps, plastic bags, TP, etc. A Publix grocery is about 5-10 minutes west, or you can shop at the downtown Publix. A CVS drugstore is within 2 minutes.
Bahama Shores is a 1950s neighborhood right on Tampa Bay. With its red-brick boulevard, it is a lovely place to walk your pets. There is a tiny park for residents and guests, and you can stroll the walkway of a nearby retirement community directly along the bay. The neighbors are friendly, so you feel at home.
This older house admittedly has a few quirks, but the interior decor is appealing and renovations continue, such as newly refinished floors. Any problems you have, the owners will quickly handle. The home is clean when you arrive, and a cleaning lady is available if you want to hire one. All in all, this is a fine rental in this area.
We stayed here in Feb. and Mar. and were very pleased with everything. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood and about 10 minutes from the city of St. Petersburg with all the restaurants, shops and cultural activities. The location is great and it's only a short (15 minutes) to the beach. The owners are very accommodating and all correspondence was handled quickly. We are looking forward to our return visit.
My husband and I rented this property in December and again in April. The house is located in a beautiful, older development with a great mix of well-kept ranches and bungalows. The neighborhood was safe and offered a pretty waterfront park as a destination for our walks with our dog during our stay. The house is unimposing from the curb but you enter the front door to a lovely example of mid century modern architecture. A split floor plan provided a perfect set up for us and our guests, easily accommodating six adults and a dog. Spacious and nicely decorated, the vintage vibe is fun and comfortable. As nice as the house is, the jewel of this property is the backyard. A big and powerful BBQ and pretty seating area compliment the gorgeous pool and beautifully landscaped yard. This was where we spent most of our time, enjoying morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. During our stay in April, we went in the pool almost every day! Sonja and Tom were a pleasure to work with and provided all sorts of information about the area. We took their advise to heart and tried all their restaurant recommendations! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and you will too!
This home is truly beautiful - spacious, stylish and clean. The fireplace in the living room is enormous and creates great atmosphere. We spent many an evening reading around a crackling fire. The backyard and pool are lovely, so tranquil and special. A private oasis. The neighborhood is charming and friendly, we loved going for long walks every day. And we took advantage of the boat launch to go kayaking a few times. The owners have thought of everything and make the rental process smooth and easy. We look forward to our next visit.
This was our second year at this lovely property (my husband, our dog and me). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and found the house and grounds to be immaculate and well-maintained. The decor throughout the house is very unique and well done with each room displaying its own character. While the photos of the rooms in the listing are accurate, they do not capture the full feeling that one experiences from the vintage furniture and carefully selected artwork displayed throughout the house. Of course the backyard pool and covered patio with grill are also key benefits to this property and can be fully used and enjoyed at any time during the year. The neighborhood is very friendly and a wonderful place to walk and bike. Relative to activities away from the house, this location is within a reasonable distance to all of the things we enjoy: golfing, birding, kayaking, nature activities and beautiful sunsets. The local Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is a treasure and offers many nature walks, environmental programs, Tai Chi, Yoga, exercise programs and an extensive trail system. Downtown St. Petersburg is close by and a fabulous city with cultural attractions (the Dali Museum is a must see), the pier, and great restaurants. Really, we couldn't possibly fit in all the things we wanted to do and see in St. Petersburg and the surrounding areas in the month we were there! The owners are very attentive and have always been readily available to answer questions and offer advice before, during and after our visits. They leave excellent house notes and a drawer full of information on restaurants and activities in and around the St. Petersburg area. They obviously do everything in their power to make sure the renters love the property as much as they do! This is a top notch home in a wonderful location and we would highly recommend it to anyone.
Beautiful nature parks, great restaurants, scenic beaches, fun bars, brew pubs, galleries and jazz clubs are all just a few miles from this peaceful waterfront neighborhood. Also, visit the world reknown Dali Museum and the many other Museums along the waterfront park. great Dali Museum - close to some of the most beautiful beaches in the US ready for kayaking, swimming, fishing and paddle boarding.
