This private residence is for rent to guests who want to enjoy the peaceful tranquility of Sayulita. Enjoyed by those with a taste for the finer style of beachtown enjoyment. Spacious rooms, terrific views and easy walk to beach & town make it one of the most popular rentals.
The house sits above the coconut palm grove with expansive views of the beach and quaint village below. You can check the surf, watch the whales, and even root for the locals on the baseball field all from the comfort of the huge palapa covered rooftop terrace. No need to rent a car as both the nicest beaches and central Sayulita are within short minutes walk from your doorstep.
Our home has two air conditioned master bedrooms with private baths; one opens to the very private swimming pool , the other has a private terrace with full view of the ocean, the town and Punta Sayulita. This main floor has a fully stocked gourmet kitchen with 10 foot high ceilings and is adjacent to the pool area, which has an outdoor shower. The adjoining dining room and living areas are furnished in Mexican coastal flavor with lots of leather and wood, including Mexican antiques.
Casa de la Colina will accommodate up to 10 house guests. When including the first floor apartment up to 14 guests. The apartment has a kitchen, a lovely patio, a king bed in an air conditioned bedroom and a queen size futon bed, flexible sleeping space.
The true jewel of Casa de la Colina is the palapa covered terrazzo on the top floor with a bar-b-que, service kitchen, bar w/fridge and dining table for up to 12 people. This is where most time is spent swinging in a hammock when not swimming in our pool or at the beach. Watch the birds and wildlife from this panoramic tree top vantage point. There is plenty of room here for everyone. Another one of the four bathrooms is located on this top floor and a beautiful semi-outdoor bedroom with breezy gauze curtains, a king bed and a tropical canopy. View the beach and romantic sunsets and count the stars from bed.
Casa de la Colina is suited to accommodate many size groups. Multiple couples with children can have beds moved to their best advantage as the large bedrooms and open floor plan is very flexible, and we have a few extra single beds, available on request for groups larger than 7.
We love this house because it is located in a quiet corner of town, easy walk to the beach and the town center. Spacious hi ceiling rooms, expansive views, lovely kitchen and private pool. great for entertaining or just relaxing at home.
The gigantic views from the top floor palapa covered patio. Very private courtyard pool.
A group of six of us spent ten days at Casa de la Colina in December, 2014. Firstly, we love Sayulita. It was at least a second trip there for most of our party and we will all go back again. It is a beautiful, magic, little town with a great atmosphere and fantastic food and bars.
Casa de la Colina is an absolutely gorgeous house. We rented the main floor and had the rooftop palapa included. It was more than enough space for six people and all the bedrooms, including the rooftop palapa bed, were comfortable and lovely rooms. The rooftop itself is a phenomenal space, on which we spent most of our time. The pool is great for a soak also.
Doug and Ruby were incredible hosts. They were there for everything we needed in the house and are very knowledgeable on restaurants, bars, nightlife, culture and activities in the area.
Whether you are traveling with friends or family, this is an amazing house.
We just returned from a week long stay at this house in Sayulita. The house is absolutely beautiful- the highlights included the AMAZING palapa (where we hung most of the time, and where my sister slept- the outdoor bedroom is absolutely fantastic), comfortable bedrooms, a easy to use kitchen, and the pool + outdoor shower.
The location was perfect too- close enough to the beach and town for easy access, but far enough away that we were able to really relax in a quiet environment.
Doug and Ruby were extremely accommodating, helpful, and easy to connect with during our stay.
We'll definitely be returning to this casa in the future!
We have stayed in this house 3 times and keep coming back! We love the super comfy beds, the well equipped kitchen and the great location in a quiet residential area just minutes from town or the beach. The house is clean, the pool is a lovely but the open air palapa is by far the best spot in the house. The breeze, the view, a nap in the hammock, dinner by candlelight overlooking the bay, simply the best!
We can't wait to return. Doug and Ruby are great and will set you up with all the best things to do on your vacation!
An outstanding Mexican experience...
My daughter and I visited for one week. Our stay exceeded our expectations in every possible way and if I had to characterize it I would say that at no time we ever felt like we were outsiders visiting a foreign land or worse yet merely tourists. Our hosts showed us ever possible curtesy and consideration. They shared generously their favorite restaurants and included us on several expeditions in and about the outlying area. At one point helping us book a fishing trip and whale watch. At each moment of our stay we always felt as if we had the advantage of being insiders.
As for the accommodations the pictures speak for themselves and these too exceeded all expectations. Our rooms were well appointed and cleaned each day with fresh linens as you would expect to find at the best hotel. I would return again to Sayulita and most surely will be staying once again at Casa de la Colina, where you can bet we will be booking our entire stay.
Thanks again for a great time.

Overall, the place is clean, large, and classy. The rooftop view was amazing, and the town is close by. It was very safe. The 2 issues I have with the place are that 1) the place sleeps 4 comfortably. It does not sleep 10. The third bedroom is outside, and only has 3 walls. It is loud, there are mosquitos, and it rained while we were there so these people had to move inside. I don't know how it could say it sleeps 10. I brought 10 people and 5 people were sleeping on mattresses, couch cushions on the floor. I was embarrassed that I told them that it slept 10.
2) the owners docked 1/2 my damage deposit because I brought 10 people. The posted description says it sleeps 10! They were not pleasant people to deal with, and I didn't like how they did business.
It is so frustrating when people put descriptions that don't match reality.
I will not be going back, and I would advise others not to, as well.
There are lots of other amazing, cheap places to stay in Sayulita.
Sayulita is located on the Mexican Riviera Nayarit, pacific coast, 30 miles north of Puerto Vallarta. Telephone & Internet connections are excellent. we offer wifi at Casa de La Colina.
