The Area Around the Palms

Palms of Treasure Island is located on famed Gulf Boulevard right on the intercoastal waterway in Treasure Island, FL home to one of Gulf of Mexico’s most beautiful beaches. Treasure Island beach in particular is one of the widest beaches in the area with gorgeous white sugar sand and great swimming in the warm waters of the Gulf. Beach access is just across the street. The property is two blocks south of the beautiful Treasure Island causeway with access to I-275 leading to convenient Tampa International airport. The property is less than 2 miles south of John’s Pass with restaurants, boat rental as well as area rental shops for bicycles, electric scooters, and water craft including jet skis and parasail. Just south on Gulf Blvd. is the famed Ft. Desoto, named number one of the nation’s best beaches in the last 5 years. And, Palms is less than 15 minutes away from the Don Cesar Hotel, the Vinoy Hotel, some of the nation’s historic old hotels. And if your vacation is not complete without fishing, John’s Pass, just north on Gulf Blvd., has excellent fishing charters, as well as casino boats along with scenic views from quaint shops and restaurants. You will also find an abundance of waterfront nightlife in Treasure Island FL. Many of the bars on the beach have a variety of island-style entertainment for you to enjoy!

We really enjoyed your condo for the two weeks in St. Pete. It was very well equipped, so comfortable, and in excellent condition. We loved the view and the large balcony, and the location of the condo was convenient to everything---the beach, Publix, and even downtown. The hot tub was working, but did not appear to be clean (rather cloudy looking), but since we are not interested in hot tubs, it didn’t bother us at all. I am only mentioning it because as a former condo owner, I know you would want to know. The pool was great, however.

Again, thank you for a delightful two weeks in your beautiful apartment. Maybe we will stay longer next year.

Perfect Couple Weekend Getaway!

The communication with the Owner and Property Manager was extremely good. Strong followup-gave me piece of mind knowing that we had secured a place for our long weekend.

This condo is everything the listing describes, very, very clean, up to date finishes, excellent location directly across the street from public beach access, grocery store (Publix) literally next door and drug store, liquor store next to that. A quick walk. Air conditioning worked well, water pressure good, everything in the kitchen to cook and grill. Propane grill located directly down the stairs below the unit. A very quiet and peaceful stay. The morning sunrise was beautiful over the intercoastal and the sunsets across the road at the beach were breathtaking. Bring a book or two, the balcony is over-sized and easy to enjoy the outdoors. Master bathroom has whirlpool tub, walk in shower in second bathroom, very comfortable beds, plenty of thick white towels and laundry available in the unit.

We will for sure be back to this unit. the location in Treasure Island is perfect and the location of the unit in the building is by far the best.

I live in Florida and will tell my friends about this get away-

It was an absolutely perfect long weekend.

Great getaway, total relaxation

we absolutely loved our stay at this condo! Excellent location. The view from balcony is awesome. We saw dolphins from the balcony every day. The beach is right across the street and John's pass is an easy drive (5 min)

The owner was very easy to work with. Cannot say enough good things about this condo and our stay their. I would go back tomorrow.

Wonderful Condo in a Wonderful Location!

This condo is wonderful!! It is in an ideal location. BEAUTIFUL view off of the balcony over the inter-costal! We saw dolphins every day! The condo itself has beautiful decorations with beach/palm theme - makes you really feel like you are at the beach! The condo is clean and well stocked. The kitchen has everything you could want to use, including a toaster oven and a cork screw! It is an easy walk to the beach, just across the street. And also an easy walk to the grocery store, right next door. The owner is very pleasant and VERY easy to communicate with. It was very nice to have the washer and dryer - very convenient! Also, the gas grill that is available just at the bottom of the stairs was great! This condo has everything you need. If you are looking at other places because they are cheaper, I would recommend this place even if it costs a little more - it is worth it!! My two boys want to live there!! Great place to stay!

The condo was very clean, updated kitchen & bathrooms were lovely, easy access to the beach was very convenient. We enjoyed a pleasant, peaceful vacation & would definitely recommend it.

The Good:

The area is beautiful, the condo is very nice and over looks the inter coastal water way. A couple of storms came in and we were able to view some beautiful rainbows. The condo has a nice patio, that is large enough to relax and enjoy some sightseeing.

The Bad.

I would not stay at this condo again, because of the following reasons.

The property was not well maintained. (My Wife stripped the sheets when we arrived because the sheets on the couch bed was not clean, the bathtub in the main bedroom was dirty when we arrived). The owner is judgmental and has the other owners (that live there) spy on you. (They falsified the amount of people that were staying in the condo, because we had family meet up for a day at the beach, (they were staying at the Bilmar Hotel). She would not return my security deposit (because she accused us of having 8 people stay (per what she was told by her "Friends") however, that was not a true account of our stay there.

Earlier problems such as shades needed for the main bedroom was never addressed. You cant sleep with the lights on next door to a Publix Supermarket.

There is no water pressure in the main bedrooms bathroom (again another comment that was made earlier). Each of these issues were stated on earlier comments, (on this site) that they would be addressed, but neither was.

The pool area has several bricks missing in and around the pool that caused me to slip and fall.

We had to buy trash bags, dishwashing soap, and Landry soap, fabric softner, toilet paper, and paper towels (which we left).

The worst part of my stay there is the owner would not show me the housekeeping bill, in which she stated that the condo was a mess and needed some repairs etc...This is not the truth because we cleaned the condo nightly, cleaned all the towels and washrags etc.... The owner kept our security deposit. Please be aware that this was part of her plan all along, because of her statement to me that was, she did not charge us the full amount, so she kept the security deposit in order make the difference.

I assure this is the full account of what occurred and she would not accept my account of what happen. Darcy changed her statement on who told her what occurred during our stay. This is when I knew that she intended all along to keep the security deposit (in order to make up for the off season cost).

Owner's Response: Interesting comments from a guest who had booked the condo stating that it was for a couple – only two people and in light of there being only two guests was offered a discount from the published rack rate. The VRBO Page clearly states that the condo comfortable accommodates 4 people, however a fifth person could be accommodated using the sofa bed in the living room. It is very curious that the guest’s wife would “strip the sheets” on the sofa bed when there were only two guests and even if husband and wife slept separately, the two beds – one king size and one queen size - would be appropriate and there would be no reason to even open up the sofa bed! In fact, the cleaning staff generally does not put sheets on the sofa bed when there is no requirement. The number of people in the condo reported to us by two other condo owners (the “friends” he refers to) had taken the effort to advise us by email that there were far too many people in the condo. From that report it was clear that they had not just met at the condo “prior to going to the beach”, but spent a lot of time in the condo, on the balcony, and around the pool. Had this guest been up front about the number of people they planned to have in the condo, we would have declined the booking request. The question of shades needed for the bedroom adjacent to the Publix parking lot is acknowledged and is being addressed. The window does have a venetian blind, but a considerable amount of light still is allowed in the room even when the blind is closed. Granted, one previous guest had commented on the amount of parking lot light in the bedroom at night. The owners do stay at the condo frequently and have had no problem sleeping even with the light from the parking lot. Regarding the condo supplies, sufficient supply of paper towels (2 rolls), toilet paper (4 extra rolls), dishwashing soap etc. are supplied for guests to accommodate their needs on arrival. If a guest uses excessive amounts of these supplies (possibly due to many guests in the condo!), they will have to supply any additional requirements. The VRBO site clearly states that additional guests in excess of 4 will be charged at a rate of $25.00 per night per person. The rental confirmation clearly states that a one-time cleaning fee of $125 is included and any excess cleaning costs will be charged. The deposit was forfeited to cover the additional guests (who were not acknowledged) as well as damage noted from cleaner’s report.
