The photo shows us with 2 of our 4 children next to a campfire on the beach. I grew in the area and worked a few years in quebec city. After a year backpacking in asia I choosed to return to live in the area of Rimouski for the quality of life. It's a gift to them to bring up kids in this environnment, close to nature. We are environmentaly concerned and we have built this chalet in this mood. We even recycled occasionnaly old pieces of wood from barns and others places I lived before. I am actually manager in an office where we support business and economic development.
The ski station is located 45 minutes away from where I was living and we were driving every days on week ends to ski. In Christmas 2006 I heard about land for sale just a short walk from the ski slopes...
6 months later I was cutting the first trees to make place for my building project. The construction lasted 2 years and we ended up with this warm ans cosy atmosphere.
Builded in a mature maple tree forest, september and the first half of october are just amazing. The leaves are colorful. You can easily hike the mountain, and on the week-end days they start the chairlift from where you have a fantastic overview.
In winter, we usually ski on natural snow and knees deep powder is not rare.
A 5 minutes walks brings you to a small lake. Usually warm from the end of june till mid-september.
