We lived in this house for ten years before we moved to the Boston area. My kids and I still spend a lot of time at this house, and we love going back to Falmouth. We like to go for runs along the beach, go bike rides along the Shining Sea bike path, go canoeing, swim in the ocean, walk to downtown for ice cream, and play in the yard.

A. McGuire purchased this house in 2002

We chose this house because we can walk to everything--beaches; downtown; the bike path; open space preserves. The spacious, shady yard is perfect for the kids to run around; street is very quiet; the neighborhood is friendly.

Our home is a very peaceful and pleasant place. We walk everywhere, and rarely need to drive. We bike to the beach; we walk to downtown; cool off in the outdoor shower after swimming; sit outside in the shady yard.

This is a lovely, roomy and comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood close to everything. We were thrilled that we could ride our bikes to the bike path and not have to rack them and drive all the time. We appreciated the use of the shed to store our bikes.
All amenities we required were there. The home features good quality furniture and the beds are wonderfully comfortable, something we don't always find! In our 30 years coming to the cape, this was our second in Falmouth, a very sweet town. We plan to come back. Thanks Abby!

We stayed in this charming house for 10 days. We had an extended group of family ranging from toddlers to mother-in-law visiting from England. Our little ones were upstairs with us in the room with 2 beds, while my husband and I were in the spacious master bedroom. My mother in-law enjoyed the bedroom on the main floor and my brother-in-law had the futon in the finished basement. I don't think the photos do a good job, as we were pleasantly surprised by the house upon our arrival.
The house was in tip-top shape and really contributed to our vacation. The view from the kitchen window was of the veggie patch and bird feeder. Our little ones enjoyed watching all the chipmunks, squirrel and various birds come out for their daily feeding. With 2 little boys aged 2 & under, we fully utilized the play structure and toys. The house is in tip-top shape and the kitchen is fully equipped to make dinners and enjoy them around the large table.
The location was perfect - just a short walk from downtown. My husband and I enjoyed taking a jog to and along the beach. You must get the chocolate croissants from the new French Bakery downtown - is is almost the first store as you come in to the main drag across from the School. If you want a nicer meal, try the Blue Onion which is a short drive from the house.
Abby was extremely easy to rent from - there were no hiccups on getting keys or dealing with the lease.

Comfortable, spacious home with a lovely garden, perfect for families

My family and I stayed here for a month in October 2012 and we absolutely loved it. My husband and I were doing some work at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and taking turns to be with the kids, and this house was perfect for us.

The house is spacious and comfortable, and in a lovely, quiet, friendly neighbourhood. My kids (aged 9 and 3) loved playing in the garden, on the playground and in the basement. There are lots of toys (blocks, lego, puzzles, etc) in the basement and lots of books (for both children and adults) around the house. The garden is lovely and we enjoyed sitting outside on warm days, and when it was too cold or rainy we could still enjoy the garden from the large bay window in the kitchen. Coming from Australia, we particularly enjoyed watching all the different birds, squirrels and chipmunks in the garden. There were bikes and kids ride-on toys in the shed which we could use. I enjoyed walking and bike riding on the Shining Sea bike path (just 5 minutes walk away).

It's just a couple of minutes drive or 10-15 minute walk to Falmouth town centre, where there are lots of restaurants and shops. Our favourites were Osteria La Civetta (Italian restaurant) and Stone l'Oven Pizza, and my kids loved the candy store and toy store on Main St. There are some lovely beaches within 10-15 minutes drive. Woods Hole is just a 15 minute drive away. This is a great place to base yourself for exploring Cape Cod.

The owner of the house is a great host. She sent me an email with information on the house before we arrived, and there was a folder in the house with information on the house, local restaurants and tourist attractions, with pamphlets, maps, etc. I emailed her with questions a few times and she was always very quick to reply, and very friendly and pleasant to deal with.

I'd definitely recommend this house. We really felt at home here. It was sad to leave, we all missed it after we left, and we would definitely stay here again when we next visit this area.

We stayed here for a vacation in Falmouth in early August 2011. We in particular enjoyed our evenings outside, grilling and eating dinner outdoors while the kids played on the swingset/playstructure. We loved the pleasant 15 min stroll to the main Falmouth Center for shopping, restaurants, and - our favorite - homemade ice cream and chocolates from the local shops. The beaches nearby are great -- the water was warm enough for swimming, although my favorite activity was hunting for beach glass in the surf at Surf Drive beach. The Shining Sea bike path located nearby is very scenic with beautiful views of the marshes and beaches, as well as being convenient for accessing the local beaches, farms, nature trails, and downtown Woods Hole (from where we took the ferry to Martha's Vineyard for a day trip). We had a great time paddling on nearby Waquoit Bay. It's great that this house comes with a canoe and paddling gear. The house itself was wonderful -- it's maintained lovingly by the homeowners (who live there other times of the year), and feels incredibly homey yet was plenty spacious for our group of 6 (including 2 very active young boys). There was plenty of space inside the house -- the kids could be off playing in another room, while others of us could relax reading a book or making a new recipe in the nicely equipped kitchen. The outdoor shower was a great feature for after a day at the beach. The playroom in the basement filled with toys for kids was a wonderful bonus. We loved how quiet it was here at night -- no traffic noise, just the sound of crickets. Overall, this rental was a great value. I will definitely stay here again and tell all my friends about it.
