3 bed, sleep 6/7, near to Ansiao and Figueiro dos Vinhos

Recently renovated 3 bedroom detached house with private pool, BBQ and patio area. The property sits at the edge of an authentic Portuguese village and has around 6000 m2 of land attached.

The village is in a rural area, perched on a hillside, about 5 mins drive from the nearest main town (Avelar), just off the IC8, near the A13. The house is within easy reach of the Coast (40 mins to Figueira de Foz) and Coimbra (around 40 mins). The roman ruins of Conimbriga are not far away and there are several river beaches in the vicinity.

The accommodation is on 2 floors; upstairs there are 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and an ample upper terrace, sleeps 6/7; downstairs is an open plan space, including fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge with log fire and satellite TV. Outside there is an ample patio with pool, BBQ and downstairs toilet. There is access from the patio onto the adjoining land, which belongs to the house.

The house is very conveniently situated for exploring the 3 Beiras regions, including the coast south of Figueira da Foz, Coimbra, the Dao and Bairrada wine regions and the various Beiras mountain ranges, in particular the Serra de Lousa, with its excellent cuisine and Schist Villages.

There are river beaches nearby, with various water sports, and canoeing can be arranged on the Mondego river. There is also walking, climbing and horse riding in the vicinity. There is a water world amusement park near Pombal.

Within easy reach are of the famous Conimbriga roman ruins, the Fatima sanctuary, and a little further away the spectacular Monsanto village built out of the very rock itself! Within a short drive is the famous Palacio de Bucaco, with its gardens and extraordinary history.

Fantastic Holiday

Hi Ed,

Thank you so much for our fantastic holiday in your beautiful house. It is honestly the loveliest house we have ever stayed in, and I can't think of a single thing that needs improving. The bedrooms and living room were all extremely comfortable, the kitchen very well stocked, and the pool an absolute delight on the many hot days we had. We managed very well with the internet connection and on those odd days when it was cloudy we were able to find out where the sun was and go there. The house is so well placed for Lisbon, Tomar, Coimbra, Porto, etc etc. We caught the train at Pombal to Lisbon, as recommended by Mike - such a nice man and so helpful.

Amazing holiday in a beautiful house

My family and I (with three children 12, 9 and 4) have had a very enjoyable 2 weeks in this beautiful house.

The restoration has been done beautifully and the finish to the property is lovely. I really appreciated the touches that made the holiday even more relaxing. The owners had given extra thought to everything that one could need for the holiday and the agents were helpful and unobtrusive.

Beautiful and comfortable

We very much enjoyed our stay.

You really have a very beautiful and comfortable house and we felt very welcome. Amazing what you made out of the ruins.

We visited a lot of places in Mid and North Portugal, the landscape was beautiful, nice weather, good food and wine, enjoyed the swimming pool and read good books, so all ingredients for a good holiday.

We will recommend your place to our friends and if we decide to visit Portugal again we will keep it in mind.

Perfect Holiday Hideaway

What a superb house and location, both are absolutley stunning. The photographs couldn't possibly do it justice. The first word uttered when we walked in was 'Wow'! This is the perfect place for those who love to get away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist hotspots. It is by far the best equipped villa we have stayed in , the owners have given a lot of thought to those finishing touches that make all the difference and couldn't have been more helpful.We would recommend this house to anyone.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
