Photos and Description of the Rethymno vacation rental 3 bedroom villa Aphrodite to sleep 6/8 persons, unique romantic atmosphere

A most attractive 3 bedroomed villa, situated in some 2 acres of unspoilt countryside, just 6km inland from Rethymno. Villa Aphrodite is surrounded by old olive groves, oak trees and is reached via a winding country lane and then a long private drive. The living area of the villa is on one level and the interiors are simple, fresh and modern in style. The interior of the villa is open plan with pretty matching sofas, satellite TV, DVD, dining table and from here there are two well-equipped kitchenettes and two bathrooms, each equipped with shower/WC. The entrance has pretty flower beds, twin patios and comfortable garden furniture. There is ample outside dining for those meals al-fresco and the brick build barbecue compliments this area. Stone steps lead down into the gardens, to a 40sqm swimming pool with children's pool and the raised pool terraces are equipped with sunbeds and sun umbrellas. There are a few local shops and tavernas in Prines. A car is essential.

The Rethymno region of Crete offers some of the most interesting and beautiful landscapes in Greece. Our villa Aphrodite is located in Prines, a picturesque village close to Rethymno. An area of outstanding natural beauty, the countryside lends itself to fascinating walks and mountain biking. The traditional village of Prines is just a few minutes stroll from our villa to find a local tavern and a mini-market. There are also local shops, bakery, butcher, cafes and chemist close to our villa. Within a 10 minute drive from Prines there are sandy beaches which offer good facilities. Situated in the middle of Crete, our villa provides an ideal base to explore Crete. Some interesting sights close to Rethymno are the monasteries of Arkadi and Preveli, Plakias, Lake Kournas, the natural springs of Argiroupolis, Episkopi and Georgioupolis beaches for beach lovers.

This villa was just brilliant. The location was idyllic-in the country but not to far from a village and town. Also,it was not too far from the highway, which made sight-seeing easy. The house was very good and the gardens and pool were excellent and well-maintained. The hosts were very friendly and were very generous in every respect. It was excellent value for money.It was, as the title suggests, Utopia in Crete and we would,without hesitation, return again.

A little piece of paradise

A really authentic Greek villa, the moussaka, raki and apple cake supplied by the owners were amazing, if you want a chilled out holiday within reach of the amazing sights of this beautiful island then book the villa. You will need a car, there is no where within walking distance (apart from olives and goats) but this means its incredibly peaceful. There are a couple of resturants within 5 mins drive but with a purpose built bbq and an out door pizza oven (and very good local supermarkets, butchers and bakers) you can while away the evening on the terrace over looking the fantastic pool.
