Both apartments are perfect if you are with or without car as Menaggio's ferry port is less than a 4 minute walk away.

Menaggio ~ The perfect location:
Menaggio is about half way up the western side of Lago Como, an attractive and thriving town in the summer months and little more quiet in the winter!
Accessible by car from Como at the south end of the lake, or Lugano in Switzerland, across the pass via Porlezza (340) above Menaggio, but also by ferry from Bellagio and Varenna (where there is a train from Milan).
The heart of the 'old' town gathered around Piazza Garibaldi close to Menaggio's harbour features mostly 19th century buildings in the Italian alpine style painted in muted tones. The higher part of the town has a more medieval aspect featuring narrow alleys, steep stairs and stone buildings.
The old and 'new', the shops, restaurants, cafes, public squares and alleyways, the tree shaded lakeshore promenades bordered by flowers, and the well-kept villas form a wonderful and serene place to holiday.
Boutique shops blend with historical churches, Italian architecture and bustling Cafes; which line the beautiful shopping parade leading off from the Piazza and the characterful cobbled back alleys, which await your exploration.
The Public Lido Beach and Swimming Pool, Children's Park, Mini golf are all just a minute's walk away also. Conveniently the Bus and Taxi service runs from the main Piazza, and the fast and convenient Menaggio car and pasenger Ferry is just a 3 minutes walk away.

Restaurant Golf at the club serves fantastic food and is well recommended.The closest major ski resort is Madesimo toward the Splugen Pass, which is approx. 1 hr 20 min. by car. St. Moritz in Switzerland is only 90 km by car. Other ski resorts are located in the Valtellina near Morbegno. The lake is beautiful to relax next to all year long - the scenery in the winter is some of the most striking, as the air is crisp, the visibility near perfect and the mountains capped in white snow.
