Somewhere different to stay in Italy, inside an hour from Pescara Airport. Our traditional Abruzzo holiday villas - just for two. Stylish, comfortable, and relaxed, bordered by olive groves, with stunning panoramic views across the unspoiled Abruzzo countryside. We're on the fringes of the magnificent Majella National Park- yet within sight of the Adriatic. Just three villas, each just for couples or friends only. All centrally-heated and with individually-controlled air-conditioning. Inside - it's light, cool and airy with your large double-bed on a galleried mezzanine. Outside our villas you'll find big sun terraces, sunbeds and umbrellas for everyone - and a salt-water pool. And with a maximum of six guests at any one time, you'll always have masses of space. Masses of year-round choices too, from skiing to sunbathing to sightseeing to shopping - and from long holidays to short breaks. And where better for a wonderful honeymoon than your very own romantic villa for two ?

Along with our other Abruzzo villas, Pesco Falcone – named after after a mountain in the nearby Majella National Park - has risen from the ruins of a 19th century barn, keeping to the traditional Abruzzo style of dark green shutters; cream-washed walls; big, curved roof tiles. The villa opens onto south-facing sun terrace of over 50sq metres and has its own screened area with a table, sun umbrella and chairs. Walk into Pesco Falcone through big double doors. Downstairs are cool tiled floors, white walls and wood beams. Plus a comfortable sitting area to relax, read, or watch a DVD; a dining table and two chairs; a well-equipped kitchen with gas hob, oven and fridge; and a clean, modern tiled bathrooom with sink, WC, bidet and walk-in shower. Upstairs is a wood-floored, galleried mezzanine with either a kingsize double bed, or two singles. Plus a wardrobe; a chest of drawers; and a small personal safe. Pesco Falcone has central heating and individually-controlled airconditioning.

Welcome to a part of Italy still free of mass tourism - but less than an hour from Pescara Airport. We've three Abruzzo villas, each just for two people – and a pool – set in beautiful unspoiled countryside. The villas – Acquaviva, Pesco Falcone and La Majelletta are named after mountains in the nearby Majella National Park. If you'd prefer the beach, the Adriatic's inside 30 minutes away. If you ski, you can be at the nearest chairlift in an hour. Our nearest town is medieval Casoli. Larger and a little further is medieval Lanciano. (Who says Tuscany has a monopoly on medieval ?) All around us are great places to eat, drink; buy food and wine; and go sightseeing or walking. Plus banks, petrol stations and shops. And more. Rural doesn't mean remote. And we don't just rent-out villas. We live here too. So no international calls if a light-bulb needs changing, or wondering if someone will be there to let you in if your flight's delayed. Notes: Along with each of our villas, Pesco Falcone has a well-equipped Kitchen with a 4-burner gas hob; fullsize oven; and fridge. Plus freely-supplied fresh-ground Italian coffee (and an Italian coffee-maker); English teabags; olive oil from the groves bordering our pool; salt and pepper; white and brown sugar - and sweeteners; and lemons. In the Living Area: a multi-region DVD player (bring your own favourites - or borrow one from us); lots of books; a full-length, double-width flyscreen across your villa entrance to keep out things that go buzz in the night. We're set in about an acre of countryside with a private car park for guests. Our 10 x 6m pool, bordered by olive groves, has an advanced salt water purification system and enjoys unbelievable views. While we don't allow pets at Villasfor2, guide dogs - and their owners - are always very welcome. Please note that as our Abruzzo villa holidays are for grown-up couples or friends only, we don't accept bookings for anyone under 18.

A Day in Abruzzo: Here's what you might enjoy doing today...Start with breakfast on the sun terrace outside your Villa. Decide whether to spend the day lazing by the pool or maybe go sightseeing ? Perhapsthe dizzying and dazzling heights of the medieval castle at Roccasclalegna ? Or the haunting ruins of ancient Gessopalena ? Or the imposing, iconic 2000 year-old Capestrano Warrior in Chieti ? Or traditional trabbochi on the coast ? A day at the Beach ? Fossacesia Marina; or Le Morgie; or Casalbordino Lido are all in easy reach. A Walk on the Wild Side ? The magnificent Majella National Park is on our doorstep. Eating and Drinking ? This was our first visit to Abruzzo and we weren't disappointed. If you are looking for somewhere away from the crowds this is it. A beautiful setting with spectacular views set amongst olive groves.

The villa was very well appointed and we appreciated the ground coffee and other little touches. A lovely swimming pool and David and Pauline were always helpful and gave us lots of tips about the area and even printed out individual directions to help us negotiate the windy roads to get us to our destination.

We are keen walkers and tried several of the well known trails of differing lengths and difficulty from coastal paths to mountain peaks of the Majella National Park.

We spent four days in villa Pesco Falcone and our break was relaxing from start to finish. David made sure we had excellent driving instructions to get to the villa and we did not get lost once. The villa is situated well off the beaten track with stunning views over the olive clad hills in which it is set and the dramatic mountains beyond.
Throughout our stay David and Pauline were both so friendly and helpful, suggesting days out for us and making sure we were well looked after, but never in an interfering way. It was great knowing we could ask for directions and suggestions if we needed them. The temptation was to stay and sit by the pool enjoying the view by day and eating on our terrace of an evening, but the hospitality we received at a local restaurant suggested by David and Pauline prompted us to return there on our last night.
The views from the villa are amazing and you could hear a pin drop it is so peaceful. The villa itself was wonderful, very well equipt with lovely homely touches. The region of Abruzzo is a wonderful place and is so quiet and unspoilt.
Thank you so much David and Pauline for such a wonderful holiday, we will definitely be back.

Peace and romance in an idyillic setting

If you are looking for a romantic place for 2 or even going with other couples you could not wish to find a more idyllic setting.

It did take us longer than an hour from Pescara Airport but that is because we took our time. The driving instructions to get to our villa were absolutely fantastic and for once we did not get lost.

Our hosts who live on site could not have been more helpful - places to visit, places to eat and they booked our restaurant as well as giving us detailed directions, places to shop and things to do. The swimming pool was gorgeous and always clean and beautifully kept.

The villa is perfect for 2 although the TV for the DVD would have benefitted from being much larger. The villa was well equipped, spotlessly clean and well maintained, and the air conditioning made the hot days and evenings a pleasure. Even beach towels were provided which was great especially if travelling with limited suitcase space.

We were there on our own so do not know what it would be like to share the patio with other couples.

Our trips out to the seaside and mountains were delightful and all with fantastic driving instructions from our host.

Our host nformed us about local events happening in the evenings with firework displays and indeed the two that we attended were absolutely spectacular.

So, if you are looking for a place to rest, relax, read, swim, sunbathe and be on your own then look no further. Villas for 2 was great. Thank you so much to David and Pauline who helped make our holiday so enjoyable.
