Casoli Villa Rental Photos and Description

Country villa just for couples, set between the mountains and the Adriatic sea

Welcome to a different type of Italian villa rental holiday, which in April 2014 was featured on BBC TV's travel series 'Escape to the Continent'.

Just three tranquil villas for two, set in beautiful, unspoiled countryside, with what one of our guests calls 'the best views in Abruzzo'.

Inside each villa, it's light, cool and airy, with individually-controlled air-conditioning; central heating; and free wireless internet access.

Right outside your door, there's your own private space on the big sun terrace, with a wooden table, stripey sun umbrella and a couple of wooden chairs. Perfect for breakfast; al fresco dining; or a nightcap under the stars.

Just for our guests, there's a sparkling salt-water swimming pool, bordered by olive trees, with another sun terrace. And with never more than six people here at any time, there's plenty of space to spread out and relax, with enough comfy sunbeds and umbrellas for everyone.

With well over 400 villa rentals in Abruzzo available through HomeAway, we never forget you have a choice, so we'll always try that little bit harder to ensure you get the very best value for your money and have a wonderful time on your Villasfor2 holiday.

That's why in 2010, 2011 and 2012 our villas earned more 5-star reviews on the HomeAway website than any of their other Abruzzo properties.

Check out the Guest comments below - and take a look at our website www.villasfor2.com to find out more about us and our Abruzzo villa holidays !

More Details

Details for Villa Acquaviva 1 Bedroom, Sleeps 2, 1 Bathroom

Like each of our three Abruzzo holiday villas, Villa Acquaviva rose from the ruins of a 19th century barn, keeping to the traditional local style of cream-washed walls; dark green shutters; and big, curved roof tiles. Each of our villas is split-level. Downstairs are cool tiled floors, white walls and wood beams, with double glass doors opening onto your own private area on a big south-facing sun terrace. You've a comfortable sitting area to relax, read, or watch a DVD; a dining table and chairs; a well-equipped kitchen with gas hob, oven and fridge; and a clean, modern tiled bathroom with sink, WC, bidet and walk-in shower. Upstairs there's a wood-floored, galleried mezzanine with a kingsize double bed - or, if you prefer, twin singles. There's plenty of room too for all your holiday bits-and-pieces and a small personal safe. And if you need to keep in touch during your holiday, we have free WiFi access and fantastic cellphone reception !
Suitability:
  • Low Allergen Environment
  • non smoking only
  • not suitable for children
  • pets not allowed
  • unsuitable for elderly or infirm
  • wheelchair inaccessible

About David & Pauline Brenner

Hello...

We're David and Pauline Brenner.

David was formerly a television presenter with the BBC; Pauline worked in IT. We moved to Abruzzo from Somerset in south-west England in October 2007 and now live here permanently and look after our three holiday rental villas.

David & Pauline Brenner purchased this villa in 2008

Why David & Pauline Brenner chose Casoli

We'd looked at 96 different properties before coming across the one we finally bought.

Just take in our surroundings and our amazing views and you'll understand why it took about 10 seconds to realise we'd found exactly what we'd been looking for !

Guestbook comments from the owner

It's difficult to be objective when you stay in a place for 10 days and come away completely relaxed and feeling you have made friends with the owners. Anyway, here goes. The location and views are superb. The villa was spotlessly clean, comprehensively fitted out and well supplied. The swimming pool was also maintained to perfection. David & Pauline did everything they could to make us welcome and to allow us to enjoy our holiday. Abruzzo is a fascinating region and apparently undiscovered by Brits (good). We were able to do so many different things, from wandering around almost deserted hill towns, browsing markets, paddling in the Adriatic, walking to the tops of mountains from where you could see for miles, sunbathing, swimming, eating....you get the idea! The ONLY slight downside is that for total peace and tranquility you are at the mercy of the other couples in the two adjoining villas. We were lucky to have good neighbours during our stay and at least there are no children! We would definitely return if we were in the area again. David & Christine, Herts.

Outstanding views + Hosts = Fabulous Vacation

  • 5 of 5
I have read some of the reviews and I "ditto" all the good things that have been said about the villas. We spent 5 days at Villasfor2 and I can't say enough good things about our hosts David & Pauline and the villas. If you are looking for a perfect place for two then look no more - this is the place for you. The beautiful villas are light, bright and nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was equipped with all the basic utensils and coffee, tea, some beers, a bottle of water, salt & pepper, olive oil and a bottle of locally produced wine to get us started. The pool is outstanding and maintained daily and the views are incredible. Before our arrival David had sent us very detailed directions from Rome Airport to their place (including tips on how to use the toll booths on the autostrada) which were extremely helpful. When we arrived David met us in the car park and took us to our villa. In the villa was a binder with all kinds of information on towns, markets, restaurants and more. After settling in David took us on a tour of the surrounding area to show us the closest supermarket (so we could buy some groceries), gas station, bank and several good restaurants.
There are some delightful hilltop towns to wander around and drives into the mountains. The beaches and the Adriatic are a short drive from the villas.
All in all we had a fabulous vacation and David & Pauline were the perfect hosts. I would recommend villasfor2 to anyone. Trust me you will not be disappointed.

WAT EEN HEERLIJKE PLEK!!!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect getaway for two

  • 5 of 5
Having viewed all of the previous comments I can heartily concur with the praise heaped upon these villas.
The listing description couldn't do justice to the reality which was delightful in every way. The location is remote which ensured a tranquil setting for lazing around the pool and yet was within a short driving distance to numerous restaurants for evening meals (or even breakfast). David (the host) provided detailed instructions and advice on a large range of restaurants from cheap and cheerful to Michelin starred establishments, a large number of which we tried.
There are some delightful hilltop towns to wander around and drives into the mountains where further access is available by chair lift at times.
We stayed for two weeks and found plenty to do and would definitely recommend it to others.
One point worth emphasising is that Pauline and David are so helpful if needed but melt away if not and a very clever balance is struck.

Paradise Found

  • 5 of 5
We spent two wonderful weeks at Villas For 2 in 2011 and rebooked for 2012 whilst we were there, something we have never done before.
The villa is beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and fitted to the highest standard. David and Pauline are welcoming and were excellent hosts and are great company. Their discrete and friendly approach reassures those first-time visitors are well-informed. They use their extensive knowledge of Abruzzo to ensure that all visitors' needs are catered for.
The pool is outstanding and is maintained daily. The view from the pool is panoramic and one never tires of looking out across the unspoilt countryside. Getting about is straightforward, although David offers excellent directions to a whole host of places across the region. This year we revisited the mountains, where the surreal experience of visiting a ski resort in July (37 degrees) is a must, as is a day trip to the amazing Tivoli Gardens. The coast is within a short drive.
We ate out a lot this year and there is a great choice of places to dine, ranging from 'fuel stops' to fine dining.
If your desire is a totally stress-free holiday, save yourself a load of web surfing and book yourself a week or (preferably 2) here. The locals are lovely and the whole ambience ouses great quality. We shall certainly return to this fantastic place to visit David and Pauline, whom we regard as friends!

Amazing spot, perfect hosts

  • 5 of 5
We had a very pleasant stay at Villas for 2. The beautiful apartments are light, bright and nicely decorated. And – above all – spotless clean! Like we said to each other: even if it is raining or cold, it’s not a punishment to sit inside!

The kitchen is equipped with all basic utensils and coffee, some beers, a bottle of water, salt & pepper etc. to get you started. In the villa you find a map full with information on towns, markets, restaurants and more. It saves you a lot of time finding the best restaurants in he area! And then the outside. The view from the terrace and pool over the hills and the Majella Mountains is terrific.

A car is necessary to explore the region. And why would you not? Ok, staying at a sun bed near the pool is very tempting, but the Abruzzo has more to offer. The region is unspoiled, beautiful and people are friendly and welcoming. Especially when you try to speak a couple of words in Italian. With Villasfor2 as our home base we visited nearby villages like Altino (with an little authentic fresh pasta-shop with ravioli at € 14,- a kilo: a real bargain!), Casoli and Guardiagrele, the beach and sea near Fossacesia Marina. A bit further you find the beautiful scenery of the Nature Reserve park of Punto Arderci and the city of Vasto. We want to highlight two things we did: having dinner at a traditional Trabocco (Pesce Palombo) and a daytrip from Termoli to the Isole Tremiti. Both highly enjoyable experiences!

Concluding; we had a very, very good time at Villas for 2. An amazing spot, perfectly hosted by Pauline and David!

Stunning views + great hosts = wonderful holiday

  • 5 of 5
Like many people, I'd struggled to find a cost-effective villa holiday for 2 in Italy. I'd tried Tuscany and Umbria but found them to be overbooked and overpriced. Then I came across Villasfor2, and from the moment I got in touch with David about organising a romantic break for me and my girlfriend it couldn't have gone more smoothly.

He talked me through the best flights to get, which airport to fly to and provided detailed directions and guidance to get to the villas (including tips on where to get a bite to eat and how to use the toll booths on the autostrada!). this was extremely helpful considering that we arrived quite late on a Friday night and had to navigate in the dark on strange roads. He then greeted us with a torch to help guide us to our villa once we arrived.

It was too dark for us to appreciate the stunning views on the night of our arrival but in the morning we opened our door to be greeted with brilliant sunshine and a picture-perfect view of rolling hills and distant mountain ranges - bliss! David gave us a tour in his car to help us get our bearings - supermarkets, bars, restaurants etc (although we mostly took advantage of the local produce and perfectly equipped kitchen to cook our own food). And when we mentioned that we hadn't been able to find any garlic in the local supermarket, Pauline (David's wife) brought some down to us from their own supplies!

The villa itself was spotlessly clean, the bed very comfortable and welcome pack of supplies (including excellent olive oil and a bottle of locally produced wine) was a great touch.

All in all we had a fantastic holiday and David and Pauline were the perfect hosts. I'd recommend villasfor2 to anyone (and in fact I already have!).

Our three Abruzzo villas for two are set between the mountains and the sea, about 4 miles from the small village of Casoli.

It's a corner of Italy still untouched by mass tourism. Uncrowded and unspoiled - but less than an hour from Pescara Airport, which has direct flights to/from the UK with Ryanair.

Other Activities: Majella National Park. WWF nature reserve

Golf: Miglianico GC - host course for the 2009 Mediterranean Games golf event - is just under an hour for us. It's a par-72, 18-hole course of around 6200 yards off the guest tees. The course is well-kept and the greens are particularly fast and true.

Ski: The chairlift at Passo di Lanciano is an hour from us. The huge resort of Roccaraso - the biggest ski complex in the Apennines - is about 75 mins.

Both have a choice of black, blue and red runs; snowboarding; and cross-country-skiing.
