McCall is 5021 feet above sea level. When you stay at this modern, smartly appointed condo right on the shore of gorgeous Payette Lake, you'll have access not only to the association's private dock, lounge, and swimming pool - all overlooking the lake - you'll be walking in the footsteps of mountain men like Jim Bridger and Jedidiah Smith, and movie stars like Spencer Tracy, Robert Young, and Walter Brennan. (The 1938 film North by Northwest was filmed in the McCall area.) But you needn't be a trapper or a film icon to experience the scenic wonders and the wealth of activities available in this beautiful Idaho resort area all year long.
Timberlake condo is an example of a tasteful and intelligent use of a limited space. With no bedroom, the lounging, cooking and sleeping areas are integrated. Wood floors, evocative modern paintings, and cherry wood furniture lend the room a touch of elegance. Sink into one of the plush couches in the living room and enjoy a lakefront vista right in front of you. Enhance the experience with your favorite CD or, set your iPod in the dock provided and listen that way.
There's also TV (sorry, no cable), and a DVD player, so bring a couple of your favorite flicks to watch after dinner. Step out on the patio and be even closer to magnificent Payette Lake.
This condo has a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances that will make cooking hassle free with easy clean up. When it's nice out, walk out in back and fire up the grill for a barbeque right on the shore of Lake Payette. There's also a fire pit on the private beach for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores! If you're dining out, then you're in the right place. McCall has 30 restaurants that will serve you everything from omelets at breakfast, sandwiches at lunch, and entrees of every sort in the evening. And you won't have to travel far. Most of these eateries are within a mile or two of the condo.
Timberlake Condo has no bedroom. The murphy bed (a bed that hides away vertically in the wall and is pulled down for use) will sleep two comfortably. There's one full bathroom. There isn't a washer/dryer in the unit, but there is a washer/dryer in the complex a couple of doors to the right as you come up the stairs.
Of course this condo's proximity to the lake and the fact that it has mooring facilities (first-come, first-serve basis) makes this the perfect place for those lucky enough to own some type of watercraft. Certainly you'll be able to do all things aquatic, like swimming, water-skiing, and sailing, but there's a world of things to do around McCall on dry land. Nearby Ponderosa State Park has numerous hiking and biking trails and spectacular views from Osprey Point. You can arrange a rafting or fishing trip. Golfers, bring your clubs! It's just a few blocks to McCall Golf Course. Jug Mountain and White Tail golf courses are also nearby. But McCall has lots of things to do in winter as well. Brundage Mountain Resort is about 30 minutes to the north. There are plenty of snowmobile trails around McCall and places to ice skate as well. The main event in winter, however, is McCall Winter Carnival, a celebration begun in 1924.
