Our guest suite is located on beautiful Puget Sound and is a part of our home. We live in a quaint little beachfront community called Edmonds. It is 25 minutes from downtown Seattle. A short 3 minute walk allows you to walk on the beach or catch a ferry ride across Puget Sound and maybe spot an Orca whale. That same 3 minute walk also gets you to the bus or train terminal for travel through out the region.
If you like to Scuba Dive there is an Underwater Dive park 300 yards from your door step,. We have many wonderful restaurants, shops, a movie theater just a few minutes away.
Edmonds is also the home to Travel Guru, Rick Steves.
Our guest suite was built in 2006 and is approximately 500 sq. ft.. It has a comfortable 'beachy' feel with a balcony overlooking Puget Sound and the Ferry coming and going. Cruise ships sail by daily during the cruise season. The sunsets are spectacular in the summer along with the extensive flower garden that was featured in the Edmonds Garden Tour during July 2012. Our home was also featured in the Chef's Tour of Dream Kitchens.
In the summertime, our garden is wonderful to stroll through, sit out front with a cold drink and watch the Ferries and Cruise Ships go by before watching the sun go down with beautiful sunsets. Very Romantic! You can also enjoy a wonderful view from the privacy of your own deck.
There is a mini kitchen equipped with refrigerator, Induction cooktop, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffee pot, dishes and silverware. Complimentary water, coffee, tea and apple cider.
Our home also has an elevator for easy access of luggage. Also, for anyone who has trouble climbing stairs.
From May thru September, Edmonds also has a wonderful outdoor Saturday market with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and many other vendors.
We are also located 30 min. from Woodinville Wine Country, which features 90 wineries and many quaint restaurants.
We have 2 micro-breweries in Edmonds and many others throughout the area.
We have a wonderful arts festival on Fathers Day Weekend. Also the taste of Edmonds 1 weekend in Aug.
There is the Tulalip Casino located 30 min. north of us and and outlet mall right next door to the casino.
Toni and I are retired and love to spend time caring for our house and entertaining. I am an avid golfer while Toni loves to work in our beautiful flower garden. We have six grandchildren and spend lots of time with them. We also love to go out crabbing in Puget Sound and then eating them of course. We travel several times a year and love to cruise.
We love to dine in our town and then take in a movie at the restored Edmonds movie theater. This theater is a classic that was built in the 20's and serves the best popcorn you will ever find.
Al or Toni Young purchased this apartment in 2006
Brandon and his family were great guests. Quiet, clean and very nice.
They had 2 kids and we hardly knew they were here. The kids even made their bunkbeds, I was very shocked. We would love to have the family back anytime.
The room was spacious, clean and new looking, artfully decorated, with upscale fixtures in the bath, a nice balcony for coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening, and many nice amenities in the kitchen/living room area. The owners were as helpful and friendly as could be. It is a short walk to the main street area of Edmonds with many restaurants and shops as well as the beach park, ferry and transportation center. There was a noise issue with the train, not so much the ferry, but that affects any community near the train line which runs next to the water, not just this home. As the owners will readily tell you, if the train whistle is a problem for you, this may not be the place you want. Bottom line is that the home, the owners and the community are so nice that we will be back at the first opportunity.
What a perfect get away -- Al and Toni Young's home is a paradise. A magnificent garden that has to be seen to be believed, a view of the water and ferry that is amazing, one block from the ferry and short walking distance to downtown Edmonds...many restaurants, galleries, antique stores, etc.
This is as good as its gets...do anything to secure your reservation for this beautiful guest suite...it is just perfection!
More than just a beautiful place to stay, the owners are warm and inviting. Enjoy!
We were blown away how beautiful this home was. The owners Toni and Al were out of town and had their relative Debbie staying there. She was so friendly and accommodating. We have 4 year old twins and had plenty of room in the apartment. They set up an air mattress on the floor for them in the sitting room. The room was fully equipped with kitchenette and beautiful ensuite bathroom. The balcony off the sitting room had a great view of the sound where we enjoyed afternoons with a glass of wine. It was very centrally located and we could walk to the beach and restaurants. We grew very fond of Debbie and hope to stay in close contact with her forever. We live in Southern California and after this visit we have decided to sell our house and move there! We really couldn't say enough good things about this guest house.
We were in town for a job interview, and staying here was a great way to check out the community! Toni and Al were very gracious hosts!! We were guests in their home and they were very welcoming and so kindly answered all of our questions. You can easily tell they very much enjoy meeting and taking good care of their guests. Their guest room was wonderfully appointed and came with yummy snacks, water and tea...just what every traveler needs. Very easy walk to downtown, many restaurants and the ferry and train terminals. Thanks for a terrific stay!!
My husband and I were scouting Edmonds as a potential retirement relocation and chose this VRBO primarily because of its location. From the on-line pictures we did not expect the rental to be elegant. It was elegant. The furnishings, especially the bed, were top drawer, very clean and comfortable. Many unexpected bathroom amenities were extra nice. The general decor felt a little cluttered for our preferences but it was easy to move some things aside for our own comfort. There was plenty of space and empty drawers for our own things.
We had had some reservations relating to having to go through the owners living area to get to the rental suite. Not being able to enter privately felt a little awkward the first time or so but soon became a pleasure, even when we brought friends back to our rooms for early evening visits with us. We felt very welcome, comfortable and safe. So glad we had the opportunity, both to see some of the dramatically beautiful home and to get to know the owners a little. They were very gracious and helpful.
The location was truly inspiring and included a balcony and french door view of the ferry crossings on Puget Sound and a glorious sunset. This visit topped our expectations in every respect.
This is a wonderful spot, we enjoyed our stay very much. The suite, and the home it is in, are beautiful. Our hosts, Toni & Al, were gracious and welcoming. The house was decorated amazingly for Halloween, I bet it's exquisite at Christmas time. There were delicious snacks and a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers in the suite when we arrived, very nice. The flowers, dahlias, came from Toni's gorgeous gardens and lasted the whole time we were there. The suite is equipped with all the necessities and is beautifully appointed.
We enjoyed exploring Edmonds, the village & waterfront areas that are within walking distance of the suite offer many dining and shopping options. It was fun watching the ferries come & go and hearing the fog horns as they navigated across Puget Sound. This really is a beautiful spot.
This guest suite served our needs extremely well. We were in town visiting our son, his wife and our first grand baby. The short 10 minute drive from the suite to their house in Shoreline was perfect. It was Reasonably priced and so much nicer than a hotel room.
We would most definitely stay here again in the future.
