Thanks again for everything! We are having a BLAST!!!
Oh--and, yes, the cooking class was at the Barcelona Cooking School (a few blocks east on La Ramblas) and it was Tapas with wine. One of the best parts of it, though, was that the chef first took us to La Boqueria to purchase the ingredients while educating us about the market and meeting the vendors, as well as sharing many historical tidbits about the city in the process. We learned more from him about Barcelona's history in one hour than we have from all the tourist guides we have read in preparation for our visit here! We made meatballs with a Sofrito Sauce, Cod fritters (we learned an amazing amount about salted cod and it's history), and a bread that I would be butchering the name if I tried to write it here. It was a flat bread with anchovies and roasted veggies on top and baked--delicious! Also, rice pudding! Their Rioja-2008--is one of the best we have had in the counry, so far! Corey does NOT cook and only agreed to attend because it would make
me happy....I KNEW he would get a lot out of it if he did and within 30 minutes he stated that he was impressed! For hours after we finished he made many comments on how much he enjoyed it! Today, again, he mentioned what a wonderful experience it was. I encourage you to share with your future renters!
