Overview

El Raval Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Our top floor 32 square meter (345 sq ft.) apartment, with elevator, has been beautifully designed and refurbished turning a humble apartment into a modern haven where the feeling and life-style of Barcelona living comes alive. The apartment features a queen size bed with fresh white cotton linens, a plush comforter and a standard of four pillows, ensuring you an excellent night of sleep in the bedroom with a unique 270 degree view of the top of the city and the two landmark mountains, Montjuic and Tibidabo.

The American kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need to make your in-home dining experience easy and enjoyable, should you decide to enjoy the fruits of your culinary labor on the private, sunny and rare roof-top terrace, or inside on the convertible dining room table.

Feel like lounging around after a day of walking, walking, walking? Swing the flat screen satellite-equipped TV out of the bedroom and into the kitchen/living area and sit yourself down on the large pull-out sectional sofa. Or, take advantage of the high-speed internet access and surf the web or plan your next day’s excursion.

A long day at the beach means a refreshing shower afterwards! Fluffy bath sheets, hand towels, facecloths and hair-dryer are at your disposal. Time to wash your bathing suit and beach towel? Take advantage of the washing mashing and hang your goods out to dry in the warm Barcelona breeze.

Wake-up to the classic sound of the church bells of Barcelona and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on us! A chilled bottle of Cava awaits your arrival! Enjoy your stay at your home away from home in Barcelona.

Why Matt and Sue chose El Raval

Barcelona is my favorite vacation city and I wish for others to enjoy it as well

What makes this apartment unique

Centrally located and close to all the popular tourist attractions

Guestbook comments from the manager

Thanks again for everything! We are having a BLAST!!!

Oh--and, yes, the cooking class was at the Barcelona Cooking School (a few blocks east on La Ramblas) and it was Tapas with wine. One of the best parts of it, though, was that the chef first took us to La Boqueria to purchase the ingredients while educating us about the market and meeting the vendors, as well as sharing many historical tidbits about the city in the process. We learned more from him about Barcelona's history in one hour than we have from all the tourist guides we have read in preparation for our visit here! We made meatballs with a Sofrito Sauce, Cod fritters (we learned an amazing amount about salted cod and it's history), and a bread that I would be butchering the name if I tried to write it here. It was a flat bread with anchovies and roasted veggies on top and baked--delicious! Also, rice pudding! Their Rioja-2008--is one of the best we have had in the counry, so far! Corey does NOT cook and only agreed to attend because it would make

me happy....I KNEW he would get a lot out of it if he did and within 30 minutes he stated that he was impressed! For hours after we finished he made many comments on how much he enjoyed it! Today, again, he mentioned what a wonderful experience it was. I encourage you to share with your future renters!

Thank you for a wonderful home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 4 nights as the second leg of our 25th Anniversary trip. This apartment is wonderful! We found it to be everything the description and guest reviews showed. It was clean, convenient to get around. Sue spent time with us at check in and didn't make us feel ripe shed at all. Although we had no need to do so she made sure we knew that we could contact her throughout our stay should anything arise. We enjoyed morning coffee and evening wine on the beautiful outside terrace! I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone. We hope to be back one day!

Great Locarion, Nice Apartment

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It is small but very adequate for two people. The deck overlooking the city on which to enjoy an afternoon glass of wine made the small spaces more than adequate.

The proximity to the Marvelous Barcelona system makes this an easy location from which to see the city easily. Don't miss the terrace restaurant atop the museum at the wharf, the Cathedral of the Familia Segrada or Park Guell.

Sue was a wonderful hostess and I loved having that bakery for breakfast croissants right at the end of our block.

Excellent location, simple, tiny

  • 4 of 5

Sue and Matt were wonderful - great communication in advance, and very helpful and friendly. Matt was out of town when we arrived, but Sue made us feel right at home. The small space was perfect for the two of us. The bedroom has three walls of windows, so the light was lovely. The only thing I felt was missing was a shelf or two to unpack. The elevator was great to go up with all our luggage, saving the 110 steps for the way down. The bathroom was quite cramped, but perfectly functional. Good hot shower! The location was ideal, right next to the Sant Antoni market, sadly closed for renovations during our stay, but the temporary market was just as fun. We had grand plans to shop for fresh items at the market and cook, in the perfectly well appointed kitchen, but the apartment is within walking distance of so many fantastic restaurants, that we never got around to it! We stayed in February, so we didn't make much use of the terrace, which only had an hour of sun in the afternoon, but it was a great spot for a quick glass of wine before heading out again. El Raval was a great neighborhood to walk around in, but we often ate in Ciutat Vella and Born. No need for a clock - the nearby bell tower keeps you up to date on the quarter hour, but only from 8 am to 8 pm - perfect vacation hours! We would definitely recommend this apartment.

A wonderful month!

  • 5 of 5

We left Barcelona with a feeling of sadness due to to the varied experiences we enjoyed during our month there. Clear directions and a warm welcome from Matt at the designated spot boded well. The apartment was well equipped and nicely appointed. Details for a traveller's stay were provided - the small touches that mean so much.

The location was ideal for easy access to the metro, pleasant walks to the popular areas, little shops handy as well as the market at the top of the street. From the initial contact until the day we left Matt and Sue were helpful, informative and thoughtful. Thanks for making our visit such a success.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this cute, compact apartment! The location was great, just a couple of minutes walk from the Metro, but also within a short walk to many sights. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We loved the rooftop terrace as well. Matthew and Susan are wonderful hosts! We highly recommend this property!
