Quiet, Peaceful and Off the Grid!
My wife and I stayed in early March, so it was nice and chilly in the mornings and comfortable in the afternoons.
Bull Mountain Lodge is VERY secluded off of a National Forest service road. There is no cell service here, but that is a good thing if you want to completely disconnect! The owner has a working land line, and active DirecTV service.
The interior is clean and has everything you need. It's a cozy atmosphere and there is room for a family. We didn't use the upstairs since it was only the two of us. The hot water and central heat work very well. Be sure to bring your food, and there's plenty there to cook with. There is ice in the freezer.
The outside is pure heaven. The first thing you'll notice is the sound of the creek running through the front yard. It reminded me of one of those sound machines and was very relaxing. There's a good sized pond, and you can bring some fishing gear for casual fishing. There's an outdoor fireplace/grill and a really nice gazebo/deck right at the edge of the pond.
The property is only about a 10 minute drive to downtown Dahlonega. I'm glad we came when we did because it was the off-season and not crowded at all. Everyone's friendly and welcoming. The North Georgia University campus sits right in the heart of Dahlonega and is absolutely beautiful...makes me want to send my kids there so I can buy myself a cabin and just stay!
For me, my dream is to retire in a cabin in the woods and I got a nice taste of it, although it was only for two days. I'm originally from Georgia, and it was nice to get back to my roots and get back to the Southern Hospitality I've grown up with.
I can't say enough good things about BML. If you want more info, they're also listed on facebook. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. They met us at the cabin to get us checked in and everything running, then that was the last I heard from them...although I would've liked to meet them for some Chicken Fried!
If you're looking in Dahlonega and you want peace, you can stop looking. Go ahead and book this, you won't be sorry.
