Loved this house fantastic location

  • 5 of 5
Such an adorable place so many great finishing touches. It was fantastic that our golden retriever was able to sit on the side patio with us unleashed and hang outside in the sun! The rain shower in the bathroom was a nice added touch! My husband and I stayed here and found the house just what we needed! the bikes were a lot of fun and my husband was able to fish every day just steps away from the house - (while I on the other hand was able to relax on the beach!) Dinners at the local restaurants were great and we can't say enough about the smartly priced breakfast at the Hurricane. Thanks for the great get away Lisa, it was fantastic!

Home away from home..

  • 5 of 5
This is our fourth stay at this PAG Beach House. We typically stay for 2 months in March and April but loved it so much we came down for a few weeks in the fall. We come down from PA. to escape the brutal winter so we are far from home. The landlord has made our stay so accommodating that we don't need for anything. When I told her via an email that I can't wait to have a cup of tea while sitting on the patio, I was pleasantly surprised to find a tea pot on my stove when I arrived. The kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans/baking dishes/coffee grinder/knives/dishes/silverware as well as coffee/sugar/and a nice coffee pot.
We are neat freaks and so is our landlord. Upon arrival, the place smells fresh and clean. I have been in a few vacation homes but this one by far is the best. While it is small, there is plenty of storage areas for everything. Lots of cupboards in the kitchen, drawers under the bed for clothing as well as a nice wardrobe with drawers. The bathroom is amazing and though there is not a lot of storage right in the bathroom, there is room for all my toiletries on a wall unit right next to the bathroom door. Everything is hidden nicely.
There is a tv that hangs on the wall that pivots so you can watch it from bed or from the living area. A couch folds into a bed if needed. The floor plan is an open one and we like that.. My husband and I as well as our very large lab love this beach house.
Yes, it is small, but when you are at the beach, you typically don't spend a lot of time inside. When we do, we find the way everything is organized - this type of floor plan works for us. And it's less to clean leaving more time for fun.
Speaking of fun.. let's talk about the outdoor area.. We are lucky because there are two of them. We have a small entrance out the back for us only to use to come and go. There is a small deck that we like to sit out on and drink coffee in the morning before we start the day. There is a Weber charcoal grill. But what we love the most is our common area out front. There is a nice sitting area with outdoor furniture. We have enjoyed meeting new vacationers as well as chatting with repeat visitors. The landlord has provided a large propane grill with 3 tanks full of propane. There are so many comfortable sitting areas for us to use, another one with full afternoon sun. And just 150 footsteps to the beach.
Our landlord is most accommodating. I have allergies and this year she provided an air purifier. We are hooked!

Disappointing

  • 1 of 5
I specifically asked owner for a sunny bright location, I was very disappointed to find a very small and dark room. I also had to keep blinds closed because it was in the middle of other residents that could see in as they walked by. This was a suite (room) that was supposed to sleep 4. I am not sure how 4 people would fit comfortabley? I was travelling alone and could barely find any counter space to place a makeup bag!

The fridge was very noisy when it kicked in and kept me up most nights, the sheets or comforter had a smell of purfume, so not sure if they were washed when I arrived. the small backyard that I was told my small dog would enjoy was basicaly a space under some stairs with two small metal chairs and seashells scattered over a very small area, my dog did not enjoy and would not enjoy runing on sharp seashells. There was no sunshine or space to enjoy this so called yard. The BBQ that was promised was also under the stairs and would likely cause some fire issues had I used it, as this was a very small space for a BBQ. You could also here every move the residents above were doing at times it sounded like they were bowling (very loud) no privacy.

This was a very expensive room to rent for what you get. I was also promised a view of the water if you sit out in the front verada, It was impossible to see the water from this location!. The hammock that was advertised to relax on was weathered and very old and dirty. I feel this place was not what was advertised and very deceiving

Owner's Response: Wow, I am not sure how to respond to this review. It’s unlike what all other renters have EVER said to me or written to me about. It is true this January there wasn't as much sun as is typical in FL the high average was 69 degrees and the low was 59. I wish I could promise good weather all of the time! So far I have a 75% re-booking request for this house, its brand new and I clean all laundry with high quality Gain detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheets so I am befuddled on so many aspects of this review. The hammock is just one year old and is a weave rather than fabric because the weave actually is a higher quality and it was purchased from Pier One. There are two porches one is out in the open with a nice Webber grill and a round seating area with chairs the other is just a side fully fenced in porch only accessible to the house that I built in case a person wanted to sit outside and get some fresh air, drink their coffee or read the paper and it also serves as a rear entrance to the house. The house is an open floor plan studio style house and typically I only rent this house to one or two people, in this case it was just rented to one person so I am not sure why she is commenting on multiple people staying in the house unless she was dishonest when speaking with me on her intentions in the house. I am clear about the house and I would never want a person to be unhappy. I emailed her after a week of her arrival asking how things were going and to see if she needed anything and she never responded. Honestly people love it in this house so this really does have me confused! I was never told she had any issues with the house, the neighbors, or anything else so I wasn't given an opportunity to help or address her concerns in fact this is the first time I have heard of any problems with her stay. Perhaps I wonder if this is a ploy to get me to return her rent payment? The price is very fair for the area. Unfortunately I guess there is nothing I can do about this review, my only hope is that she is able to find happiness somewhere and it is disappointing that she wasn't able to find it in Pass-a-Grille.

Beautiful place, great location.

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I visited with our puppy for a week in August. We needed to spend some time in the St. Pete area to help with family issues, and we opted to stay on Pass-a-Grille since our first home after getting married was on P-a-G. We lived in Florida for more than 40 years (mostly in Broward Co.) before moving to Tennessee a couple of years ago, and we have traveled all over the state. Pass-a-Grille is, without a doubt, our favorite beach community in the state. It has changed a little - not a lot - since we lived there in the 70's, and it definitely has not lost its charm. To find a beautiful little house to stay in at such a reasonable price was amazing - and we were able to bring our lab puppy. We couldn't have asked for more.

It was a very enjoyable visit. We will be going back.

Some rain ....... some sun ..... but how nice it was.

  • 5 of 5
What a comfortable unit this is. How unusual to sleep better away from home ........ had to be the bed. Or was it all the comforts of home, right down to coffee and filters. We loved it. Seriously, we did get some rain, but plenty of sun also. The owner put forth every effort in making our vacation as easy and relaxing as possible. What a joy to deal with. I had vacationed up Gulf Blvd. in N. Redington Beach for around 25 years. This was our first stay on Pass A Grille, and it won't be the last. Shelling is good, traffic is light, sidewalks are convenient, restaurants close by, beaches are clean and people are friendly. Pass A Grille is convenient to do all the things you like to do on vacation, sightseeing, shopping (when it rained, guess what we did). When you pass "The Don CeSar" on Gulf Blvd. to re-enter PAG you kinda feel like you're entering your own little paradise .......... and please close the door. Really we can't say enough, we give the owner, our unit, the people, and the area, a huge AA++. The two of us took a huge "hit" with our countrys' economic downfall and we didn't even think a vacation would be in our future, but then we found Lisa (owner) and all was so reasonable, it became a reality. More memories in the vault. THANKS Lisa
