Enjoy a relaxing stay in Southern California just steps from the beach at the Catamaran 2B, a recently remodeled two bedroom apartment in Marina del Rey. This bright apartment is conveniently located just a half block from the quietest residential beach in Los Angeles, yet it is just a five minute walk to many of the restaurants and activities of Venice.

Walk up one flight of stairs to an open floorplan combined living and dining room with a galley kitchen. Relax in contemporary comfort in front of the fireplace, or watch movies on the flat screen TV with HBO channels. Dining table seats four comfortably. The recently remodeled kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances, granite countertop, dishwasher, electric range, built in mircrowave and garbage disposal.

Walk down the hall to the first bedroom, which has an Eastern King size bed, Flat screen tv and mirrored sliding closet doors. The hallway bathroom is directly across, with pedestal sink, and tub shower combo. The second bedroom at the end of the hall has two double sized beds, a full length mirror, flat screen TV with DVD player and a large walk-in closet. Also, located off this bedroom is a private bath with walk-in shower and pedestal sink.

The apartment is decorated in peaceful, soft hues with tasteful artwork that celebrates coastal living. Flooring is Pergo wood throughout with dark grey linoleum in bathrooms. All kitchen and bath fixtures are new. Each room has individual heating controls and gas fireplace has an easy push button start. Two outdoor assigned parking spaces comes with the apartment and will fit up to a mid sized car each.

As most beach properties along the California Coastline, this property is not equipped with an A/C unit. With average beach temperatures ranging from 65 to 75 degrees year round, air conditioning is not generally needed in our beach areas. For our warmer days, each of our beach properties is equipped with portable ventilator fans which, when combined with open windows, allow the fresh ocean air to circulate and cool your property to a very pleasant temperature.

Great experience, although shower head in hall bath needs to be replaced as could not be used. Bathroom door in hall would not lock and bathroom door in master would not close. Otherwise, property was great and we enjoyed our stay.

After letting the management know of the below issues, and giving them plenty of time to respond, we realized that all they wanted was to turnover the apartment to the next 'customer' as soon as possible. I guess they have there priorities in check.

The following is a list of the issues we have been running into:
-bug infestation due to missing screen in guest room. Found in cupboards and bathroom

-tv cuts signal

-very hot, no "beach breeze" as claimed. Fans are noisy and inefficient

-no cleaning utensils available

-bug mesh screen missing from the room

-bathroom vents are both inoperable. Leaving unwanted scents and hot air.

-vacuum is not working well.

-blinds are damaged an let in plenty of sun.

-simply does not feel on the beach due to concrete surroundings.

-inconvenient washer outside not informed about.

-loud area with thin windows and walls

Just what we wanted

My husband and I were looking for a clean, comfortable condo in Marina del Rey,CA close to the beach and walking distance to restaurants. We found it here! The concierge services were also a bonus as we were able to set up bike rentals prior to our arrival and they were waiting for us. The condo was equipped with the amenities that were listed. The photos online gave a fairly accurate view of the accommodations. The starter coffee and tea packs as well as having some spices in the kitchen were appreciated. The two parking spots were ideal and important. The staff at Globe Homes and condos were courteous and helpful with all my questions and concerns. We were even able to secure a late check out to help coincide with our return flight home.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
