'Wolf Glen' derived its name from the many Jack London novels that were about wolves. Jack London lived in Glen Ellen and the state park named after him is a short walk from our home. Also, dedicated to our dog Juneau (pictured) had 'wolf' characteristics and we decided (as most dog lovers do) that this was actually his house. :-)
As for the 'Glen' part, the trees are so beautiful that we had to use 'Glen' in the name. We do hope that Wolf Glen is all that you want it to be and more - enjoy!!
David Walker purchased this house in 2012
The creek, the trees, the tranquility and the location to restaurants, wineries and the Glen Ellen Market make this home ideal for visiting the wine country. We have looked for a home in Sonoma County for years and stayed in vacation rentals throughout the wine regions and finally settled on the town of Glen Ellen due to its central location in the Sonoma Wine Valley and its proximity to the Napa Valley. Once we settled into the town of Glen Ellen we fell in love with the heart of the community and everyone we have met.
We found Wolf Glen on a lark and fell in love with it immediately. The home feels elegant and sophisticated, and offers a unique balance of privacy and access to the heart of downtown Glen Ellen. We can walk to restaurants, winery tasting rooms, and a gourmet grocery store yet the home is on a private, quiet road and feels as if it in the middle of no where. The stars at night are amazing. Just short walk from the home we can enter into Sonoma Regional Park and hike up in the hills, or drive a short mile and be in Jack London State Park.
I just wanted to let you know that we throughly enjoied our weekend in Glen Ellen. The house was perfect for our group, allowing both privacy and plenty of room for gatherings. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances, pots and pans, and tableware. (Although a tea kettle would have been nice)
The decks offered a beautiful view of the creek below, and make a wonderful place for gathering in the evenings. It was a short walk to town for night life or the market. I would highly recommend your house to other groups as comfortable place to spend a fall weekend in wine country.
Beautiful home on a creek! Comfortable for 5 or 10 people depending on if you share beds! Great kitchen and deck overlooking the creek. Beds were very comfortable and updated bathrooms. Walking distance to great restaurants and wineries. HIghly recommend this property and would rent again!
I don't know about you, but when I read that a property has 27 reviews and all of them are five star... I'm looking for any reason to be the first to diverge. I cannot in good conscience do so. Everything about our stay was five star! Location, accommodations, amenities... you name it - Wolf Glen has it. The kitchen is fantastic. The back porch has a nice view of Sonoma creek. I loved having the windows open and listening to the creek at night. Anything and everything charming in and about Glen Ellen is a short walk. David could not have been more helpful and responsive. I hope to return next year to this FIVE STAR property. Thanks David!
The house is beautifully appointed. The rooms are large and the kitchen is great. The house is very quiet but in walking distance to town and very near Jack London State Park (worth a visit) and many wineries.
A few friends and family members (8 in total) stayed in this beautiful home while in the area for my son's wedding. We could not have picked a better place! The home is actually more beautiful than the pictures, which was quite the opposite of the place we stayed at prior to getting to Glen Ellen. My son and his wife live in San Francisco, so we arrived in SF from Chicago on June 28th and stayed at a home in the Alamo Square neighborhood for 6 days. The pictures of the SF home looked lovely, but when we arrived, the home was very disappointing and the pictures were deceiving. So we didn't know what to expect at the Glen Ellen home. We were ecstatic to find a home even better than the pictures and perfect in every way for our occasion. The only downside is that the neighbors don't approve of loud noises after 10, so most evenings, we enjoyed the beautiful decks until 10 and then came inside to continue our conversations! We all would highly recommend this beautiful home for your stay in wine country!
I couldn't have asked for a better home to stay in during our Girls weekend in Glen Ellen. Dave and Rob do an outstanding job of making you feel warm and welcome from the moment you step in the door. Since I had never been to the area, I had a few questions, and the homeowners made themselves very available for questions both before and during our stay.
Everyone in the party was consistently impressed with the comfort, amenities (that kitchen!), and beauty of Wolf Glen. Thank you!
We recently stayed at Wolf Glen for a small college reunion and birthday celebration. The house could not have been in a more perfect location allowing us to walk into Glen Ellen for dinner. The house was clean, the beds were very comfortable and the gourmet kitchen had everything we needed to prep meals. The lovely deck was a wonderful spot to sit and relax in the early morning or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Rob and Dave were incredibly helpful in the planning of our long weekend, sending tips for local activities and restaurants. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us - it exceeded our expectations! We can't wait to return!
Set in the heart of Glen Ellen featuring 4 outstanding restaurants, a gourmet grocery store, 2 winery tasting rooms and boutique shops all within a 2 - 5 minute walk from the house. Wolf Glen is just 10 miles to Sonoma Plaza, 12 miles to down town Santa Rosa, and a 30 minute drive to the Russian River, Napa, and Alexander Valley wine regions.
