'Wolf Glen' derived its name from the many Jack London novels that were about wolves. Jack London lived in Glen Ellen and the state park named after him is a short walk from our home. Also, dedicated to our dog Juneau (pictured) had 'wolf' characteristics and we decided (as most dog lovers do) that this was actually his house. :-)

As for the 'Glen' part, the trees are so beautiful that we had to use 'Glen' in the name. We do hope that Wolf Glen is all that you want it to be and more - enjoy!!

David Walker purchased this house in 2012

The creek, the trees, the tranquility and the location to restaurants, wineries and the Glen Ellen Market make this home ideal for visiting the wine country. We have looked for a home in Sonoma County for years and stayed in vacation rentals throughout the wine regions and finally settled on the town of Glen Ellen due to its central location in the Sonoma Wine Valley and its proximity to the Napa Valley. Once we settled into the town of Glen Ellen we fell in love with the heart of the community and everyone we have met.

We found Wolf Glen on a lark and fell in love with it immediately. The home feels elegant and sophisticated, and offers a unique balance of privacy and access to the heart of downtown Glen Ellen. We can walk to restaurants, winery tasting rooms, and a gourmet grocery store yet the home is on a private, quiet road and feels as if it in the middle of no where. The stars at night are amazing. Just short walk from the home we can enter into Sonoma Regional Park and hike up in the hills, or drive a short mile and be in Jack London State Park.

Beautiful Home!

We rented Wolf Glen for the weekend for a group of 12 women. Everything from start to finish was perfect. David replied promptly to my emails, called to make sure I had received the information he sent, and sent additional information and recommendations for local wineries and restaurants. He and Rob even left us a nice welcome bottle of wine.

The house was beautifully furnished and immaculate. I consider myself to be a picky person when it comes to rentals and there's nothing worse than renting a home and feeling like you have to scrub everything before you can use it. This was certainly not the case here. This was the cleanest rental home I have ever stayed in. Really!

The chef's kitchen was well stocked and every utensil and appliance was top notch. The knives were sharp, the pots and pans sparkling clean with liners between each pan to avoid scratches, and the pantry was well-stocked for guests who forget things like butter, sugar etc. The bedding was luxurious! We felt like we were staying in an upscale hotel. I don't often encounter private home rentals with 618 thread count sheets and thick fluffy towels. There were even hotel size soaps and shampoos in the bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable. The bedrooms were spacious and allowed for a couple of extra mattresses on the floor.

The surroundings are beautiful. There is a beautiful creek behind the house and the neighborhood is lovely. It was an easy walk into Glen Ellen Village. At David and Rob's recommendation, we dined at The Girl and The Fig in Sonoma, which was a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious. The next day, we walked to The Fig Cafe in the village (the sister restaurant to The Girl and The Fig) and had brunch. I highly recommend this restaurant, not only for the food, but for the fact that they do not charge corkage. The food was excellent!

We visited a few wineries that David and Rob had suggested. Note: if you have a large group, you should make reservations for tastings. A couple of wineries would not honor the Visa Signature discounts that David mentioned or allow us to use discount coupons. This is not a reflection on David or Rob, just something to note about Sonoma wineries. One winery waived the tasting fee since we bought a case of wine and gave us a 25% discount! Thank you Paradise Ridge Winery. Others would not.

It will be difficult to rent a home anywhere else, as we will forever be comparing it to Wolf Glen.

We were a family of 7, attending our daughter's wedding. We enjoyed using the kitchen that had every imaginable cooking pan, or utensils need, which we used cooking a family diner on Friday night and brunch on Saturday. Enough dishes, silverware for at least 20! House was clean, location was great in Glen Ellen, and would highly recommend to anyone considering. David was available for any concerns, of which we had none!

Wolf Glen at Glen Ellen

What a fantastic vacation! Our three couples took our first trip to Wine Country together and not only picked what we feel was the best town to stay at in the Sonoma region with Glen Ellen, but also the best house to stay in with Wolf Glen as well. The coziness and charm of the house fits the coziness and charm of the town perfectly. It is great to be secluded and quiet at home, yet only a short walk away from the corner market (which is fabulous BTW) and the 3 fantastic restaurants in town. After a busy day of sightseeing and wine tasting it was great coming home to comfortable house and walking to town for dinner and\or drinks. Couldn't have picked any better location.

The house is just as described, very comfortable, great kitchen, plenty of gathering areas as well as places to get away and just enjoy the quiet scenery. Everything worked as it should, and was over equipped to handle all of the needs of the guests. House was clean upon arrival and communication with the owners was great, from start to finish...even though they were out of the Country on their own vacation while we were there.

Do you know how it feels when you go to stay at a friend's or family member's house and you just feel at home? You walk into the kitchen and make yourself a snack or get a drink and you can find whatever you are looking for and don't want for anything...as it's all right there already? That is the feeling you will get here at Wolf Glen. The house just works... Highly recommend...

Awesome Girls Weekend!

Stayed at Wolf Glen for a Bachelorette/Girls Weekend with 7 Ladies from all over the states. First we arrived to the home with a hand written card from the owners along with many wonderful suggestions on places to go for tastings, food, and things to do in the area. The lay out of the house was perfect with all 4 bedrooms having queen beds and lot of space, multiple bathrooms, and sitting areas. The back deck was lovely and it was such a plus to have a fully equipped kitchen with spices and food available to help us prepare meals. Rob & Dave really go the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay and you can tell that they love their home and the area immensely. This was my fourth trip to Wine Country but my first time staying in Glen Ellen. I highly recommend it! You can walk to the market, tasting rooms, and restaurants in the village. As well, the area is great for running and one of the ladies and I found Sonoma Park not far down 12 just past Jack London Village and it had a great path and some hiking trails. Truly an amazing location and you can't ask for better hosts. We would love to come back again soon!

I cannot say enough good things about our Glen Ellen vacation rental, Wolf Glen. This gorgeous home, set along a lovely creek and on a quiet, private street, was even more than we expected. It's elegance did not at all take away from it's 'comfy' feel.....it was a totally relaxing place to stay. The decks, upper and lower, were where we spent most of our time. The beauty and privacy were so wonderful. Besides the house itself being so wonderful, it's location was perfect. We were fortunate to meet one of the owners, Dave, and he recommended several places within a short walk or drive of the home, including a great market right down the road. We enjoyed visiting many wineries in Glen Ellen, Sonoma and Napa, and even a zipline in a nearby town. Thank you, Dave and Rob, for making our stay in California wine country such an enjoyable one! We'll be back!!
