Great Place To Stay!!!
My sisters and I loved the house. It was updated, the rooms were good size, and very clean. Matt checked in on us and gave us tips about what to do. The restaurants on the corner were great! Our favorite place after a long day of sightseeing was the porch. This is definitely a place I would stay again.

Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway

Spacious comfort!

As a traveling family with young children we appreciated the having separate bedrooms with bathrooms, closets, washer and dryer, and full kitchen. Compared to Inns down by the Market that other members of the extended family stayed at, the square footage here was much appreciated (and envied by visitors)! We did have a car to travel around and the off-street parking was nice, but could be tight if other guests also had cars parked. The neighborhood offers a number of good restaurants for eat-in or carry-out. The Sugar Bake Shop just a few blocks away is excellent for desserts, and for a quick breakfast the Hominy Grill is right across the street. The public trolley stops just up the street and can take you to the Visitors Center/Children's Museum where you can connect with other trolleys to take you down in the heart of Charleston. So you can leave the car parked at the Rutledge Inn if you want. It would be a bit of a hike though to walk down to the Market and Waterfront Park. Had a chance to meet Matt during our stay and he is a great resource if you need anything. I highly recommend a stay!

Our stay at Rutledge Avenue Inn was fantastic! We had 5 women for my bachelorette party and everyone was amazed at how gorgeous and well equipped the place was. Matt was so accommodating and always available should we need anything. Our favorite part was the huge porch that overlooked Rutledge Avenue, it was so relaxing! We will definitely be back- you can't get a better location and more beautiful vacation rental! Thanks again Matt!!

Comfortable, charming, affordable, clean, within walking distance of outstanding restaurants and shopping....couldn't ask for much more.

Charleston with the kids

Stayed for four nights with two young kids. Superb apartment. High quality furnishings, spacious and bright. Great location for anyone wanting to explore this little city on foot. Kids loved eating their ice cream on the porch and watching the world pass by. The place had everything we needed. For those with a car Whole Foods and Trader Joes are just 8 mins away for those essential groceries.

Hominy Grill across the road was great for local dinner and very accommodating with the kids. Kudu further downtown for craft beers and coffee is a must. Kids loved the pedi-cab ride around the historic downtown area, the large fountain at the waterfront and the East Bay playground.

Loved Charleston. Will definitely come back and stay at the Rutledge Inn.
