Guestbook comments from the owner
Your cabin is so well appointed and had everything and more that we could have ever needed. We felt so comfortable & really appreciated the memory foam on the bed. I think I slept my first 8 hours in a very long time.

I am already scheming on how & when we can make it back.

A Washington State native, I am. I grew up in Grays Harbor County the daughter of a logger. Many of my early years were spent in the woods and along the creeks in the area. Husband Jim, was a transplant from North Dakota, at the age of 10, finally settling in Southwest WA, on a farm on Cedar Creek. Lake Cushman and the surrounding pristine forests met our criteria for a 'Home Away From Home'- We are choosing to share our 'CAMP WOLF' so you too can enjoy it, with your family & friends.

Carol purchased this cabin in 1997

We stumbled upon this unique mountain property in the Summer of 1997. A handshake over the phone, helped us secure the deal.

Our family has enjoyed many memorable experiences, as we have explored beautiful Lake Cushman by boat, snorkel and water sport activities.

Go ahead, come to camp. Forget your troubles and step into a carefree time you have only dreamed of experiencing lately, in this fast paced life.

Go ahead, lay back in the comfy hammock and listen to the tumbling waters just below in the ravine.

Go ahead, grab a cozy sweater and ask someone to join you on the glider swing as you look down into the canyon below and take in the beauty of your surroundings.

Go ahead, enjoy making S'mores as the glowing embers of the campfire keep you toasty. Be sure and glance up at the heavens to see the brightly lit stars as they glisten in the nighttime sky. Night has come the evening invites you inside to play one last game together, before you get into your beds and ponder the day while planning your tomorrows.

Good Night, Jon Boy.

Grandma, is that big bear really dead?

Yes, it is - Go to sleep now.

QUAINT AND FUN CABIN IN THE WOODS

  • 4 of 5
The cabin is just as described, quaint and quiet! The only issue we had was a dripping shower upstairs and the fireplace doesn't work but we didn't need it. Great location across from the lake too. Be aware if you're not from the area you have to buy 3 separate passes to use the parks nearby: a National Park pass, a Northwest Forest pass and a Discovery pass. We had an excellent time and would certainly recommend for anyone who enjoys the peace and quiet.

Owner's Response: Thank You for your review Cristine. We are aware of the shower dripping problem, and the fireplace needing a new part to get it up and running again, these repairs are scheduled for the first week in July. I choose not to have the gas and water turned off while we had guests staying at Camp Wolf. The gas grill burner broke recently-so that is why we got the brand new Stainless Grill for our valued guests.
Hope you got to use the beautiful parks that Lake Cushman has to offer-Free to all our guests, by just using the hanging placard we provided for you. Div. 1 Park at mile marker 7 has swimming areas, children's play ground , great docks and trails to enjoy. Lake Kokanee Park near the Lake Cushman Grocery at about the 5 mile marker has large Rainbow Trout that are planted each Spring. We even have 3 fishing poles for your use at the cabin. Basketball and volleyball courts as well as horseshoe area make for a fun day for all. Again, we always try to take good care of our guests, and to make Camp Wolf fun for all ages.

FANTASTIC CABIN

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful time at Camp Wolf. The cabin was clean, in excellent condition, and well appointed with nice decor. The location is perfect right accross from the lake and the lake is very beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the front deck and on the swing and relaxing to the sound of the creek right next to the cabin. We could hear the sound of the creek at night with the windows open too. Olympic National Park Staircase area is just a few minutes up the road with excellent hiking and scenery.

Carol was an excellent host and called us at the cabin on the first day to make sure everything was great with the cabin.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for a few days or a few weeks. We only stayed a week but we wished we could have stayed a lot longer. Our 18 month old son had the time of his life and was always smiling and laughing.

Owner's Response: So happy that you could bring your family to Camp Wolf, and experience the beauty of the area. We enjoy sharing our little cabin with others. We love Lake Cushman, with it's crystal clear water and all other little lakes tucked away in the mountains. It is fun to hike the trails along the creeks and rivers in such splendid surroundings. Enjoy your pictures and remember to come back, to find even more new treasures.

GREAT CABIN. GREAT GETAWAY.

  • 5 of 5
Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin with us. It had absolutely everything we needed and more! We took the crab/oyster bucket and went down to Eagle Creek (just outside of Lilliwaup) and got oysters. The tools were in the bucket. Great time. Thanks again.

Owner's Response: We are glad that you found those marvelous oyster beds, across from the Eagle Creek Tavern. It always amazes me when I see all of those oysters lying on the beach, at low tide. That's the secret-be sure and watch the tides or you will not get those wonderful oysters, free for the picking.
PS- Don't forget your shellfish licenses.

IT WAS ALL GOOD!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I enjoyed a three day mini-vacation, and we couldn't have picked a better spot.

Our only regret is that we didn't have a bunch of kids to share this with! The upstairs loft could have slept 10-12 people alone, with all the beds and cushions they had up there! That would be a cousins haven for sure. And a bathroom up there too, with shower.

Betty is as friendly as can be, and made it easy for us to feel welcome and at home. After we paid, she sent the key and community tag, and directions/instructions, so we were all set to go.

The cabin is so adorable and cozy, with all the comforts of home. We loved all the animals skins and fishing decor, and the master bed was very comfortable.

We especially liked the seclusion of it. There was a small house on one side, but it didn't seem like the people were there, and on the other side was a creek down a ravine. We enjoyed a campfire, grilled some steaks on the nice BBQ on the back porch, and made a Nutella S'more--yummy! The private beach and dock was very close, and we took their canoe out on the Lake, on a calm morning, and I just can't describe how incredibly peaceful and wonderful that was. We fished a bit, but didn't try very hard, and preferred paddling back after the wind picked up a bit. The mountain surrounding the lake are just breathtaking. A great spot for prayer and meditation for sure.

We LOVED the hike near the Staircase Entrance, in Olympic National Park, and the new suspension bridge near the Ranger Station. Don't miss that! The two mile hike was just perfect for us non-athlete types. If you are planning to scale Mt. Elinor, this is pretty close to that trailhead, I believe.

We enjoyed exploring the neighborhoods by car, and nearby Hoodsport, with all it's charm. There's many gift shops, and IGA, restaurants and a wine tasting room.

My husband and I even made our own "reality show" video one night. He likes the "Finding Bigfoot" show, but mostly because it seems so silly. So we acted out our own episode out back. We just might have to post it on YouTube. Doing that reminded me of summer camp as a kid--so fun! (we never do stuff like that at home.)

We didn't try out the hammock, the bikes, the tub or the old-time stovetop popcorn popper. We'll have to do that next time!

Even though the weather wasn't the best, we had the BEST time, and the Wolf cabin made it possible. We thank God, and the Wolf family. God bless you, and happy trails.

FAMILY LAKE VACATION

  • 5 of 5
I took my family to this cabin for a little weekend getaway at the lake and it was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay than Camp Wolf. I spoke with the Owner of the cabin ( Carol) several times before our trip and she was so hospitable and told us that we were welcome to make ourselves at home. Carol called us the evening that we arrived to make sure that we got settled in ok and we did....We actually felt right at home there. The inside of the cabin is so inviting with the warmth of the lodge decor and the kitchen was stocked to the brim with everything anyone would need to cook or bake. It was nice to have access to a washer and dryer as well. We packed light because we knew we could do a load of laundry and I was even able to wash all our laundry before we came home so
I didn't have to do it when I got home.We enjoyed the private park at the lake that only residents with a pass can use, which was another nice bonus. Carol also let us use all their lake toys such as their kayak, life jackets, floating chairs, etc. The residents were very friendly and the park was very clean and maintained and had a play area for children. We loved staying here and we didn't want to leave. We will be back soon! Thanks from the McNall's

A HIDDEN TREASURE!

  • 5 of 5
Do not hesitate booking this wonderful cabin. Both inside & out we found it to be clean, comfortable & well stocked. Lots of room with the loft & plenty of parking space too. If anything the photos do not show how lovely this is.With a ravene next to cabin it provides peaceful privacy, we fell asleep listening to a stream. It's also very close to the lake and hiking trails in old growth forest. We were delighted with this beautiful log hideaway and the owners could not have been more helpful & accommodating! Great place for kids too. Thanks for sharing Camp Wolf!! We'll be back.
