Overview

Glen Ellen House Rental Photos and Description

Kiss of Country

Our home welcomes those travelers in search of something simple. This home has been our family’s refuge since 1968. Nestled in the small town of Glen Ellen, our home is near the ranch where well-renowned author Jack London chose to settle. Jack London State Park offers many activities, such as hiking or horseback riding among giant redwoods, picnicking in a

meadow or by the lake (we recommend picking up picnic supplies at the upscale Glen Ellen Village Market, which is a couple blocks from our home) or exploring the ruins and museums that were once Jack London’s houses. There are also opportunities for hiking or biking at the Sonoma Valley Regional Park, which is a short walk from our home.

If you’re not the outdoorsy type, there are a multitude of world-class wineries and spas a short drive away. Glen Ellen is the perfect staging place for enjoying all that the Sonoma and Napa valleys have to offer. Within a 45-minute drive, you could get a massage in Calistoga, go wine tasting in the Dry Creek Valley appellation near Healdsburg, or have dinner at a celebrity chef’s restaurant in Yountville. Within a 15-minute drive, you could explore downtown Sonoma’s historic plaza, spend the day at Morton’s Warm Springs Resort and go wine tasting in Kenwood on your way back to the house, or tour the biodynamic Benziger Winery. The heart of Glen Ellen is merely a block away, and there you will find fine dining at restaurants such as The Glen Ellen Inn, Glen Ellen Star and The Fig Café. Or simply stay in and relax by the pool and hot tub, fire up the gas grill, play croquet, badminton or a game of pool. These are just a few ideas out of the myriad of possibilities afforded by our central location in the wine country.

Our 1700-square-foot, ranch-style home offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms, large picture windows, a gas fire place insert, and a game room with a pool table. A 2000-square-foot outdoor entertainment area with a pool, hot tub, redwood decks, flagstone patio, lawn area, and view of the surrounding mountains. We hope you will enjoy creating lasting memories with friends and family as we have for over 40 years!

Lovely Glen Ellen retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a Ladies' Weekend Out in this absolutely charming house. The house is roomy and comfortable, with a terrific kitchen. Although it was March, the California drought handed us perfect weather to enjoy the backyard. The view from the back yard is wonderful. We will definitely be back. Lori is a terrific homeowner and host.

Great rental property. Fully stocked kitchen, lots of extra blankets and pillows, everything was nice, neat and clean when we arrived. Back yard is a great place to hang out with the pool and hot tub. Would go back!

Lovely home in wine country

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this lovely home for two nights during the BR Cohn concert and had a fabulous stay. It is nicely decorated and has every amenity needed. The hot tub was like soaking in a warm bath, and the backyard was perfect for hanging out. It was walking distance to town and very quiet at night. Only drawback was the pool was rather cold, but would be refreshing on a 100 degree day. We would definitely like to stay again when we visit wine county.

Perfect Location

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I, along with another couple, rented this house for a 9 day vacation. Since our trip was to include wine tasting, relaxing and attending a wedding, this turned out to be the perfect location. Glen Ellen is mid Sonoma Valley making it easy to get to wine tasting and even easily go to the beach. We also found it convient to get to the Napa Valley, where the wedding was. What we really appreciated was the comfortable, clean, well maintained home that we were able to make out our home away from home. Several evenings we cooked at the house eating out on the patio enjoying the peace and quiet neighborhood. Lori was wonderful to work with and when a problem came up she quickly responded to fix the problem. Unfortunately the week we were there it was quite warm and this house has no air conditioning. There are ceiling fans in most of the rooms and it did cool down at night but afternoons were a little warm - that was when we went in the pool. We made good use of the pool and patio area, it was a wonderful compliment to the house. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to be centrally located and in a peaceful, quiet area.

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

My mother and I stayed here for 3 nights. The house was perfect. There were 3 nice large bedrooms and the outdoor space was superb. Everything inside was kept immaculate - every dish towel and bath towel was perfectly folded! It's only a short walk to town with excellent restaurants. You can also take a 5 minute walk to the Sonoma Valley Regional park (via a side entrance) that has beautiful walking and hiking trails (I went running through here each morning). Can't beat it for the price!
