It has a finished basement which includes large Family Room area, one Bedroom, Full Bath, washer/dryer. It is the perfect spot to vacation during any of our Minnesota seasons! It is secluded, yet you are only approximately 1 mile from the town of Crosslake. Why Christine Dalbec chose Crosslake

My family and I love staying at the cabin and have made so many wonderful memories there! Full time employment prevents us from using the cabin as much as we would like. Therefore, it made sense to offer it as a rental property. I placed an ad on this VRBO site mid June of 2012.

Great Place to Relax with Family

  • 5 of 5
12 family members recently finished a GREAT week at the lake home (7/19 – 7/26). Both young and old enjoyed themselves immensely. The house was absolutely beautiful. The view from the master bedroom was wonderful. The grounds of the home were well kept and reasonably private from neighboring homes. The huge deck and the fire pit were everyone’s favorite outdoor amenities of the home. A night did not pass without some family bonding around the fire. The home also offered plenty of lawn area to play yard games during the day time. The home was conveniently located near grocery, liquor and general hardware stores, gift shops, and local eateries.

While the water in front of the home wasn’t great for swimming it was excellent for catching little sunfish off the 2 small docks – our 5 year old grandson absolutely loved it. Having access to a boat greatly enhanced the daytime activities – fishing, touring, tubing, etc. – plus it helped keep the teenagers busy. The Whitefish Chain of Lakes offer lots and lots of shoreline to tour. We also found several fun spots on the lake to stop for cocktails and appetizers.

The one drawback of the house was not being able to use the lower level door(s) to the outside. The five people staying in the lower level had to travel up the stairs to the main/deck level to exit the house. I am not sure why we weren’t supposed to use the lower level doors. I am assuming that this must be an ongoing request because the rental handbook at the home indicated that renters were not to use the lower level doors to the outside unless it was an emergency.

Overall it was a great place to spend a relaxing week of vacation. I would definitely like to return in the future. I would also highly recommend the property to other family members and friends.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much Mark for submitting such a nice review. I am very pleased you and your family/friends enjoyed your stay! I am sorry about the inconvenience of not using the lower level doors. The reason I request guests not use these doors is because my carpet was getting very dirty from guests coming in from the lake soaking wet and/or with dirty feet. Even though I put a rug outside the doors and right inside the doors. There are wood and tile floors inside the other two entrances, so it is much easier to clean. Thank you again! You are welcomed back anytime!

Fun for the whole family

  • 5 of 5
What a wonderful Labor Day weekend we had on Dagget Lake. Christine was so generous, kind, and quick to return my phone calls and messages. I stayed there with my husband's family and all twelve of us slept very comfortably. If you have kids, this is definitely the cabin to be at. There are three floors and so the babies and little ones can soundly sleep while the adults hang out on the main level after bedtime. We actually used the closet in the master bedroom for my daughter's pack-n-play...it was that spacious. The cabin was stocked with everything we could possibly need, including a crock pot! The Crosslake town center was a three minute drive which made grocery shopping trips and liquor store runs really convenient. There isn't a boat for renters to use, but we rented one in town and spent the day on the Whitefish chain for a very reasonable rate and had a blast. We had four cars and all four fit easily in the driveway. There is plenty of space for lawn games and the deck is perfect. Another reviewer mentioned the lack of blinds as a negative, but we didn't have a problem at all with the sun shining in too bright, but then again, we were all early risers and eager to greet the day:) Another plus was that dogs were allowed on the property. That was definitely a selling point for our group. With a cleaning service included in the cost of the rental, packing to leave was a breeze. Chris' place on Dagget Lake was exactly the getaway we all needed. Thank you!

Fabulous rental!

  • 5 of 5
We have rented on the whitefish chain in Cross Lake for many years. Chris's rental property by far surpasses all other ones. The cabin was fully stocked with things you needed such as; crock pots, utensils, towels, cleaning supplies, laundry, etc. The cabin was very well maintained and clean. The dock was in great shape for our boat, in addition the fire pit was great for fires. Being close to he grocery store was a huge plus too! Chris has been great to work with and we look forward to renting again in 2014!!

Annual Crosslake Vacation

  • 5 of 5
Every summer my family rent a cabin in the Crosslake area. This year we wanted to try something close to town as we had grown tired of long treks into town for groceries, ice, gas, etc. I would say that this cabin rates as one of the best overall cabins that we have rented so far. We loved the rustic look and feel of the cabin, but also the modern ammenities such as jacuzzi tubs, gas fireplace, stainless appliances, leather furniture, etc. This cabin is very clean, with no real visible signs of wear. The landscaping is immaculate. Our English Bulldog wanted to eat the flowers down by the water, so we had to keep her on the deck most of the time. Located on a nice quiet bay, you won't have to put up with boats speeding by. We brought our jet ski and kept it docked on one of two available docks. It was a bit shallow and weedy on the way out of the bay, but not a problem as long as I took it slow and easy. Every morning my father in-law is up early and heading into town for the newspaper. He LOVED the short trip into town. We were a bit surprised that there were no blinds on the windows, but that turned out to not be an issue. The cabin is fairly secluded, so privacy is not much of an issue, and the sun really does not come bursting in to any of the bedrooms in the morning, so it really didn't bother us. Overall, the cabin is a great value. You really do get a lot of bang for your buck with this rental. We'll definetely be back next summer!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to submit this review. I am so glad you all enjoyed your stay. I have to admit, when we bought the cabin in 2005, I wanted to put blinds/shades on the windows as well. My husband didn't feel it was necessary. He said maybe we will do it in a year or two. Well it has been longer than a year or two obviously. I am so used to not having window coverings there and because it is so secluded, I honestly haven't even thought about covering the windows now. But now that you have mentioned it, I can think of 2 windows that I might get blinds for. Thanks again for such a nice review.

50th anniversary

  • 5 of 5
Our family had a wonderful time on our vacation. The children had a great time in the water with the sandy beach. So did the dogs. Weather was good for boating, fishing, and water skiing. The lake home was very clean and very comfortable for our family. I think that the kitchen could be stocked with a few larger cooking pans, also a few more utensils in the drawers. Otherwise the lake home was great!

Owner's Response: Thank you, Diane, for your very nice review. I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay and I am glad you and your family have already picked a date to stay again next summer.
I will look in to possibly purchasing some additional larger pans. Currently, the kitchen is stocked with three large frying pans. As well as a large electric skillet and cover, a smaller multi-use slow cooker that can be used as a regular skillet but also includes pot with lid, a crockpot, 4 pots and 2 very large pots and lids (one which includes strainer which is great for preparing sweet corn or pasta). As far as utensils.....there are at least 14 each of butter knives, regular spoons, larger spoons, and forks. There are at least 12 steak knives and 4-5 regular knives, measuring cups/spoons, ice cream scooper, cheese grater, serving spoons, spatulas, rubber spatulas, etc.
Thank you, again, for taking the time to submit your review. I really appreciate it!!

Up North Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5
Every summer, my friends and I pack up our cars and head to a rental up north for a weekend away. This year we came across Dagget Lake and kept our fingers crossed everything would work out. Not only was Chris such a great owner to work with getting everything arranged, but the house is amazing! All the bedrooms are generously sized and there's tons of family room space to hang out in. The deck and back yard look out onto the lake make you feel so secluded even though you're just a few miles away from all the action of Crosslake. We will surely be back in years to come!
