This magnificent six-bedroom holiday villa offers first-class child-friendly luxury in the heart of Andalucia. Perfect for an unforgettable family holiday in the Andalucian sunshine, the 4000 ft² of space provided by Casa La Sierrecilla enables large families or friends to relax in this beautiful rural location. We warmly welcome children, and the sparkling pool is heated, fenced and gated for parents' peace of mind. Toys, books and DVD's (plus many baby essentials) are provided in the playroom so that our younger guests will be entertained while parents enjoy a well-earned break! This is a villa in which to experience the real Andalucia. Casa La Sierrecilla is set in olive-growing countryside, just 10 minutes easy stroll from a charming village where wonderful meals can be enjoyed in its tapas bars and restaurants. The world-famous treasures of Granada, Cordoba and Seville are easily visited and the vibrant coastal city of Malaga and the Mediterranean sea are only 25 minutes by train.

We bought Casa La Sierrecilla in 2001 and have been renting this lovely holiday villa since 2002. As we have 4 children of our own we have devoted ourselves to creating the perfect child-friendly country retreat! This is first and foremost a luxury family home, with a fully enclosed garden and fenced pool area for children’s safety. The one acre garden is a wonderful place for children to explore, with an orchard of olive, almond, pomegranate and fig trees, lawns for playing on and a Little Tikes playhouse for the little ones! Andalucians live outside during the summer and Casa La Sierrecilla encapsulates this outdoor lifestyle. The poolside bar (with fridge to keep drinks cool!) is ideal for preparing al fresco meals to eat on the covered dining area next to the pool terrace. Ample sunbathing terraces (with non-slip tiles) and lawns surround the pool. The pool dimensions are 8m x 5m and from 1m to 2m deep. The large veranda is also ideal for relaxing and for dining on warm summer evenings.

The charming whitewashed village of Humilladero is only 1 km away (10 minutes level stroll or one minute in the car!) and all basic necessities can be bought in its small supermarkets and grocery stores. Quiet and sleepy during the day, the village comes to life on warm summer evenings as the locals wander through the streets, sampling tapas in the bars and restaurants and children play outside till the early hours! Tapas are still included in the price of your drink here! Only 15 minutes’ drive is the historic and beautiful town of Antequera, with its atmospheric old centre and Moorish castle, not to mention excellent shops and many good restaurants and bars. Golfers will enjoy the 18-hole golf course at Antequera Golf.

For most of our guests no holiday would be complete without visiting one of the great cities of Andalucia – Seville, Cordoba or Granada. Casa La Sierrecilla occupies a privileged position in the heart of Andalucia, ideally situated for trips to these world-famous cities. Only five minutes’ drive away is the new high-speed (AVE) station at Antequera-Santa Ana. From here you can reach Cordoba with its stunning Mezquita in only 30 minutes, the vibrant coastal city of Malaga in about 25 minutes and Seville in about 90 minutes. From Antequera’s other station Granada can also be reached in less than 90 minutes. Casa La Sierrecilla has a fantastic location just one kilometre from the charming village of Humilladero with its restaurants and tapas bars. It is an easy ten-minute level walk into the village, although for those who wish to drive, parking is very easy!

Fifteen minutes drive brings you to the historic Roman city of Antequera, always a favourite with our guests for its beautiful churches, Moorish castle, excellent shops and new 18 hole golf course!

Antequera's excellent communications mean that guests have an endless choice of destinations for days out. The El Torcal National Park and the sparkling blue waters of the Chorro gorge are only twenty minutes away. Stroll through the beautiful orange-scented gardens of Seville, marvel at the intricate Moorish architecture of the world-famous Alhambra in Granada or wander through the stunning Mezquita (the Great Mosque') in Cordoba, considered the eighth wonder of the world in its day. Casa La Sierrecilla is also perfectly placed for those who wish to discover the vibrant coastal city of Malaga (only 25 minutes away by train) and the beaches of the Costa del Sol.

  • Discounts available for smaller groups (8 people or fewer) - please enquire.
    The changeover day is Saturday.
    A deposit of 25% is payable at the time of booking with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival. A £300 breakages deposit is payable with the final balance payment, and is refunded within 3 weeks of departure less any deductions for breakages or unreasonable cleaning costs. Secure online payment available.
    The house is available from 5 p.m on arrival day and guests are requested to vacate by 10 a.m on the day of departure so the cleaning staff can begin.
    All prices include heating oil and electricity and pool heating is included in the villa rental.
    We also provide a welcome pack of wine, tea, coffee, bread, butter, sugar, etc.
    Two cots and two high chairs are available at no extra charge. There are also stairgates for young children's safety. Baby equipment includes a baby bath, microwave sterilizer, baby monitor, hand blender, bed guard, bottle warmer and potties.

One of the double bedrooms is on the ground floor and this, together with the downstairs bathroom, make Casa La Sierrecilla ideal for groups with elderly relatives who do not wish to use the stairs. There are also two good quality double sofa beds, one in an upstairs twin room and the other in the downstairs playroom. These are ideal for children or teenagers. We have two wooden cots for which we provide linen. Cots can be placed in any bedroom. We provide electric fans in the bedrooms for guests who wish to use them.

    This is the perfect villa for groups with young children, as the heated pool is fenced and gated. The one acre garden is also totally enclosed. There are two superbly-equipped kitchens, one containing a restaurant quality range cooker so that guests can make the most of the delicious fresh produce in local markets. The one acre garden is planted with olive, fig, pomegranate, loquat and walnut trees - a wonderful place to play and explore! There is also a Little Tikes playhouse for our younger guests. The outdoor bar and shady dining area at the pool is perfect for an al fresco meal. There is also a fridge to keep your poolside drinks cool! Ample sunbathing terraces surround the pool. The shady veranda is perfect for meals on warm summer nights, or just relaxing with a glass of wine while watching the children play!
