The perfect holiday house for romantic couples, who can rent the 2 bedroomed upper part or the whole house as a family getaway with plenty of space for everyone. Casa Roca is a lovingly restored Ibiza style house at the edge of the village of Benaojan, in the foothills of the Grazalema natural park. It is the perfect base to explore all aspects of Andalucia with a large peaceful garden, planted with olive, fruits trees and scented shrubs, on several levels, with 100msq roof terrace furnished with a pergola, intergrated seating and plenty of sunbeds to enjoy the fabulous views. The interior is stylishly designed, to a very high spec and comfortably furnished with a spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area and seating for 8 people, leading out to a private 30msq terrace. An additonal open plan living, dining and kitchen area is a great snug. All the bedrooms are large and luxurious, two with en-suite shower rooms and two additional bathrooms with marble surrouded baths.

The Benaojan valley in on your doorstep, with fabulous walking, birdwatching & climbing opportunitites, with historic Ronda boasting the oldest bullring in Spain a 20 min drive. This is the ideal base to visit the wonderfully cultural cities of Seville, Granada, Jerez and Cadiz. Cueva De La Pileta is a 5 min drive with neolithic cave paintings. Tarifa and Costa De La Luz beaches are perfect for wind sports, whilst San Pedro offers a more relaxing experience. The village has a bank, post office, chemist, health centre & plenty of small supermarkets, bakers, butchers and a fishmonger. There are various bars, some serving tapas, along with the romantic Hotel Molino Del Santo, which serves delicious organic food. Bar Stop in Estacion serves typical Andaluz fare for breakfast, lunch & dinner at reasonable prices. There is a very good community pool, with lifeguard, lawns, parasols, bar & restaurant which is a 10 min walk away. Train & bus services are available for most of these palces.

  • There are four luxurious bathrooms, furnished with lovely porcelain and taps, all thermostatically operated and plenty of hot water. Two of the bathrooms have baths, showers and have Ibizencan marble surrounds, and are furnished with wc, basin and towels. The en-suite shower rooms also have wc, basin and towels. All the fixtures and fittings are of a high quality and design, again with the comfort of the guest in mind.

  • Each bedroom has been designed with style and most importantly the comfort of the guest in mind. There are French windows leading either to the garden, or balconies overlooking the quite village street. The lined curtains shut out the light and ceiling fans jkeep the air cool. The master bedroom has a wet room en-suite with an Ibizencan marble basin surround and the second master bedroom has a small and equally stylish shower en-suite. The rooms are of a good size, well proportioned with plenty of storage for clothes, toiletries and luggage.

Notes: Casa Roca was restored by the owners who are interior designers, as a home, with style and comfort as a priority. It is designed with rest, play and relaxation in mind, the opportunity to get away from it all and recharge. The upper living area has large, oversized doors opening out to the private terrace and wonderful views over the valley. There are lots of places for socialising, taking some quite time, privacy and of course sunbathing.

Walking: Benaojan and the surrounding area offers some of the most beautiful walking in Spain, from the easy to the most challenging. On the doorstep there in the famous Henderson walk, which follows the Victorian railway line to Jimera De Libar, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch in the restaurant, which occupies the old station house and either walk the 2 - 3 hour path back, or take the train back to Benaojan just in time for an aperitif at Bar Stop. This is just one example of the many walks described in Guy Hunter Watts book of walking in Andalucia.
