NSW South Coast Vacation Rental house: Berry, two-hours south of Sydney

Beaches closest to the house are Seven Mile Beach (a 15-minute drive along empty rural roads) and Gerringong. A little further afield to the south lies the national park of Jervis Bay full of stunning white sand beaches including still lagoons ideal for young children (eg Green Patch). There is also a quiet lagoon at Gerringong - as well as crashing waves along the beach. (Book the surfing lessons which are held here in Gerringong town.) There is an outdoor swimming pool (and toddler pool) in Berry itself. Berry is a thriving town with many craft shops and cafes. On the first Sunday of each month (except February) the Berry markets are held in town. At nearby Kangaroo Valley you can hire canoes (by Hampden Bridge) and boat down the Kangaroo River. Also in Kangaroo Valley is the Pioneer Museum Park and, for golfers, the Kangaroo Valley Golf and Country Resort. This small rural town also has an outdoor pool which is open from October to April.

Within easy driving distance from Berry are the magnificent Fitzroy Falls at Morton National Park - which affords plenty of bushwalking opportunities. This is also close to the historic town of Robertson, where 'Babe' was filmed. But walkers need not take to the car for a trek. A recently cleared walking path adjoins our boundary. Follow this and you will walk alongside one of our regenerating creekbanks up into remnant rainforest and a waterfall. For a less energetic stroll you can't beat Bundewallah Road itself. Each Sunday, the Bundanon properties near Nowra, Arthur and Yvonne Boyd's gift to the nation, are open. For winetasting and acclaimed restaurant food there is the Silos Estate Winery, ten minutes drive south along the Princes Highway. For an informal lunch you could try Jaspers Brush Winery and also enjoy drinking in the view.
