Overview

Durango House Rental Photos and Description

City of Durango Permit #11-183

Situated on a huge lot, in the heart of Downtown Durango, the Wild Horse Guesthouse is only five blocks from the Durango & Silverton Train Station.

This two bedroom one bath house is uber comfy. Full of light, and decorated in what we call Modern Cowboy style. All the luxuries of a boutique hotel await: claw foot tub, tile shower, new memory foam beds, fine linens, and an American Leather Comfort Sleeper couch in the living room. There is a king sized bed in the master bedroom, and a queen in the second bedroom. Then the Queen Sleeper couch and a nice full sized futon in the living room. Four beds total.

The kitchen is complete with real knives, gas range, full sized refrigerator, island, and all the dishes and pans you could want. Open floor plan lends itself to family gatherings. There is A/C in the summer and a beautiful gas fire place in the winter.

The front yard is fully landscaped with a nice cool lawn to play on and a covered porch with furnishings. The porch is new and with post and beam construction under a rusty metal roof is is super stylish. Being on the north side of the house in the summer it is a great place to eat al fresco.

The back yard is huge and surrounded by a privacy fence. There is even a doggy door to the side yard that leads to the back yard. Woof.

Location is where it is at: half a block from the River Walk trail to Santa Rita Park, a short walk to Durango Natural Foods Co-Op our great local grocery, Horse Gulch Trail System, the Train Station, coffee and breakfast places, and of corse all the downtown restaurants and shops just a short walk away.

The Wild Horse Guesthouse, a beautiful place for your family to explore Durango.

If you find the calendar booked, you might want to look at our other vacation rentals downtown: Garden Home Guesthouse (#320673), Saint Francis House (#393222), and Bucking Mule Studio (#166253) and Sun Mesa House (559866).

About Holly Jason

My husband Ben and I started doing Vacation Rentals so that I can stay home with our son Luca who is now 2 years old. I have a business degree from Fort Lewis College and have lived here in Durango for over 18 years. With a professional background in Design, I have had a ton of fun decorating the guesthouses in my own Modern Cowboy style. Clean and Beautiful. That is how I like it.

Holly Jason purchased this house in 2001

We loved the home almost as much as we loved our experience with the owner.

  • 5 of 5

The house is nicely furnished (super comfy bed with down pillows) and you can tell the owner has gone the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. We experienced this first had when we accidentally did some damage to their home. We were happy to cover the cost of the damage but were concerned about how the owner would react when we contacted them. To our pleasant surprise they were extremely understanding and a pleasure to deal with.

roomy

  • 4 of 5

If you are looking for a quite and roomy Guesthouse in Durango check out Wild Horse. Cute and clean with great beds. Fully equipped kitchen and nice covered juporch. We were there in late June and found that the one AC unit was barely enough but with the fans provided it was OK.

Great Home!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for the night, going through Durango on our way home to Denver. It is a very nice home, close to downtown too. Very comfortable, quite and Holly was a gem to work with. We will definitely be back!

Perfect for Honeymooners!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Wild Horse Guesthouse for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! The house is a great size and there was plenty of room for the two of us and our two dogs. It is a pleasant walk to town and there is a ton of stuff to do! It is also close to hiking trails which is great for dog owners! We loved Durango and the wild horse guest house and would absolutely recommend it to anyone!

Great place, best Beds ever!

  • 5 of 5

Nicely remodeled home. Great location. We walked to town about a mile. It was a great way to walk off the dinner we had in town.

Front proch was a wonderful gathering area for coffee and drinks. Lots of room for a dog firendly vist, we will bring ours the next time.

Spartan outside, comfy inside

  • 5 of 5

I liked the fact that it looks like a rather plain cottage outside, but it is rather ingeniously furnished, secure and roomy enough inside. This place pretty much covered everything our family of 4 needed (we brought a travel crib for the little one). Beds & couches super comfy. The little furnace heating system kicks on flawlessly, as does the TV, kitchen, internet access and everything else. Gravel driveway is right there by the front door. Neighborhood is mostly older cottages and small bungalows - seemed quiet and friendly, and near enough to everything. My only nit was that I could not figure out if there were shades in the house, so napping on a sunny day may be the only difficulty we encountered.

Map

Only five blocks to the Train Station. One block from the River Trail that leads to Santa Rita Park and the River. Seven blocks to our Local Food Co-Op Grocery store. Easy walk to tons of great restaurants and shops. This house is on the last street in town so there is not a lot of traffic.
