We left France to live in Captain Cook because we think, this is the best place of all Big Island. Our organic farm is located few minutes of Kealakekua Bay, Captain Cook Monument, Honaunau Bay .... known sites for hawaiian spinner dolphins.

The South Kona offers beautiful sites for snorkeling, Kayak, Scuba diving, Surf .... the underwater wildlife and flora are fantastic and unlike anything else in the word

Myriam purchased this cottage in 2010

We like to live on the top of Captain Cook, this is a quiet place, far away from the noise (no rooster, no frogs that singing all nights, no road traffic).

Organic farm

Free Oranges, lemons & avocados

Good place for children who can play with the pets of the farm

Near of the best places for snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, ....

Staying at this cottage was far better than expected. The hosts are extremely welcoming and accommodating, and the environment is lovely. Our two-year-old loved the goats, sheep, peacocks, and cats, and we loved everything about the place!

We had such a wonderful stay in the cottage in the trees. Lots of avocado, orange and lemon trees right on the property. The property was cool and peaceful - we had friendly visits from cats and peacocks, and we were even able to pet the goats. Myriam and Alain were excellent hosts - we had complete privacy - except when we had a question about the area - they knew the answer to the best snorkelling, best turtle viewing - best dolphin viewing - and they took us to see the manta rays at night and made us an amazing video! The cottage is simple but spacious - the king bed was very comfortable. And we so wanted to take home one if the cats! Thank you Myriam and Alain! Also - the drive up to the cottage was narrow but easy in our rented mini van.

I use to live on a small secluded farm in Captain Cook and was looking for a similar atmosphere for vacation... This was it! It was such a wonderful place to come "home" to after sight-seeing all day. There are an abundance of citrus and avocado trees for you to enjoy. If you are not a fan of the outdoors, animals, or wildlife, this may not be the place for you as there are peacocks, cats, wild pigs, etc. that roam the property day and night, but we felt the animals added to our experience! My only recommendation is to try to arrive before nightfall on your first night, as it's a LONG and unusual driveway up to the top, (you wouldn't want to miss the speed bumps and ruts)! The cottage was spacious and clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The owners have a knack for creative interior design and added really nice small touches, (they even brought us a high chair for our baby to use!). I will definitely stay here again if on the Big Island.

First time at the big Island, the cottage was everything that we needed. My kids loved the animals, especially the very friendly cat, who was a constant welcomed presence, my mom loved to sit with him on her lap in the morning, on the deck with a cup of coffee. It was nice to hear the birds in the morning...very quiet, very peaceful. The drive up to the cottage was a blast! For a family on a budget, this was the perfect solution. Myriam was very accomodating to our needs..we felt very welcome there. The fresh fruit was a added bonus. We will be coming again thats for sure...hopefully not too long from now. All i can say is Mahalo for a vacation i wont soon forget.

Owner's Response: I had a very great pleasure to meet Carmen and her family, they are very friendly people, with a very good contact with everyone, I appreciated to discuss with them.
They were easy going and respectful of the house. They left the cottage neat and clean.
I would definitely recommend them as guests, I would welcome have them back anytime. I keep very good memories of them.

If you want peace and quiet and a chance to relax and get away from the tourist crowd this is the place for you. The rental is exactly as described. Not fancy but way more then adequate. I suggest you stock up on food at Costco in Kailua if you plan on doing your own cooking. The location is great if you want to dive and snorkel. It's directly above Kealakakua Bay. You will need a car though as it's at the top of a long drive. I particularly like this area of the island. The cabin is on the edge of the rain forest. The owners are close by and have goats, sheep, peacocks, geese, and free range hens about. Also avocado, lemon and fruit trees one can help themselves to. We saw many local species of birds and even a little pig or two running around while drinking our morning coffee on the deck.. We would be happy to stay again.
