This historic Federal house sits in the heart of Tribeca, adjacent to Soho, a half block from the Hudson River. Your garden apartment has private entrances to both the street and a lovely English garden in the rear. The bedroom has a king-sized bed, the living room has a working fireplace, and its sofa converts to a queen-sized bed. The kitchen, bath and laundry are all new. The linens and tableware are luxurious, and the furnishings are from my own collection, including pieces designed by George Nelson, Mies Van Der Rohe, Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, Raymond Loewy, Isamu Noguchi, Mathieu Mategot, Jens Quistgaard and Poul Henningsen. The apartment has central air conditioning and heat, wireless high speed Internet, 2 large LED tv's with Hulu and Netflix. I am a photographer, born and bred in NYC, I live in the the upstairs portion of the house with my wife and daughter. The apartment listed here is separate from our home and has it's own private entrances to the street and garden in the back.
Scott purchased this apartment in 1979
This garden apartment is within one of NYC's most historic homes, built in 1827. It is in the heart of Tribeca, the city's most exclusive neighborhood, and it sits a half block from the Hudson River. It has been beautifully and completely renovated, all kitchen and bath appliances are completely new, there is high-speed internet access, and the 2 large LED televisions include Netflix and Hulu movies. The mid-century furniture has been culled from my personal collection, and includes pieces designed by Eames, Nelson, Noguchi, Loewy, Saarinen, Van Der Rohe, Sonneman, Henningsen, Mategot, and Guariche. There is also a lovely private English garden in the rear for you to dine and barbecue in, or to just relax, restore, and enjoy your glass of wine.
A private English garden, wood burning fireplace, fine linens and china, and and the loveliest neighborhood in the NYC. Pets are most welcome to stay with you here. Please understand the rate schedule before making your inquiry, the quoted prices are not flexible, thank you for your understanding.
Fantastic apartment with all the home comforts. Scott was a great host patiently explaining all the apartment and neighbourhood had to offer. Would have no hesitation staying there again or recommending it to others.
This is a lovely, well appointed and very comfortable apartment. It is perfectly located and very quiet. We loved our stay and would definitely choose to stay here again. Scott was exceptionally gracious and easy to work with.
We can't imagine a better home base for spending a week in New York. My husband and I stayed here with our 12-year-old granddaughter and it was perfect for the three of us. The apartment was roomy, quiet, comfortable and conveniently located. Someone commented that the bathroom was small but it was fine for us. A big person might find the tub shower a bit narrow but we found all the amenities to be exemplary. The apartment is completely stocked; we moved right in! We walked to excellent restaurants and easily took the subway or a taxi to wherever we wanted to go. Thank you so much, Scott, for making this apartment available for visitors. It's a gem.
Great location and quite street! Nice decor and layout. Bathroom a bit small but nice. Very safe neighborhood. Owner was great to work with and was ready to solve any problem.
The apartment is a cute garden level apartment right in the center of Tribeca. It's a stone's throw to shops, restaurants, bars and a block to the Hudson River where we watched fireworks on July 4th without the huge crowd. We traveled with our 2.5 year old son and there were three playgrounds within a block or two. It's not too far of a walk to Chelsea, Soho, Greenwich Village or Wall Street and it's also a short walk to the subway. If you prefer a taxi, we had no trouble catching one. It's a quiet neighborhood with less hustle and bustle compared to other areas so it's perfect if you have kids. The inside of the apartment was exactly as shown in the pictures. It's modern, immaculate condition and had everything we needed for a stress-free vacation. Scott, the owner, was very communicative and ensured we had a great stay. Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed for eight nights with my husband and our five year old son. This is truly a perfect and quiet apartment and, compared to hotels nearby, very reasonably priced as well. Not exaggerating when I say it's just steps to waiting cabs, cafes, restaurants, grocery store(s), a park, and so much more. A few short blocks to the subway, and so much nearby for kids. It's the bottom floor of one of a handful of darling red brick row homes on a cobblestone street, one block from the river. There is a little backyard too...I wasn't even aware those were available in the city! Impeccably clean and so perfectly decorated, you will feel like you're getting away with something! Scott was a great host too, making sure we knew the best places to eat and the easiest ways to get from points A to B, and beyond. Sad to leave, but we will definitely be back!
You will be in the heart of TriBeCa, New York's most desirable neighborhood. All of train lines are in walking distance, and finding a cab is quite easy. The area has become one of the city's great restaurant destinations, including Nobu, Mr. Chow's and Wolfgangs steakhouse. It is a short walk to soho, the west village, the meat packing district, the high line and Wall Street. This is a new VRBO listing, so please google AirBnb TriBeCa 1 BR Garden Apartment to read guest review about the apartment.
