Coeur d'Alene Lake has neither the girth of Huron nor the glitz of Tahoe. But mile for mile, this sliver of a lake - with its own unique natural wonders and attractions - can hold its own among those more famous bodies of water. Tucked away in an inlet bay formed by Kid Island (which protrudes into the lake like a thumb) is this gorgeous four-bedroom home that faces Coeur d'Alene Lake. With multiple level decks and 2 private docks, this home is a gateway to the magic of the lake with room for up to eight people.
Looking inland from the water, this expansive home looks more like a hotel, with two huge piggy-backed decks spanning the length of the structure. Inside, however, the spacious living area with its floor to ceiling stone fireplace and plush furniture has a warmth accentuated by the beautiful hardwood floors. Upstairs and down, the home is loaded with big windows that flood the rooms with sunlight and offer great views of the lake beyond. On really hot days, flip on the central air. Outside, watch the activity on the water from your comfortable perch on the huge deck. Or, grab the marshmallows, a blanket, and head out to the outdoor fireplace/fire pit.
Since you're right on the water in this home, distances are reckoned by both boat and by car. So, when you're ready to go out for a meal, there are at least 5 reputable places not too far away, all of them under 10 minutes by boat. By car, however, they range in distance from 10 to 25 minutes away. If you're staying in, this uniquely designed kitchen flows seamlessly from the living area and has everything your chef will need to whip up a great meal. Cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and a long marble counter punctuated with plenty of outlets are tucked into one long wall, allowing ample space for prep work and clean up. A large island with 4 stools allows the busy cook to converse with friends and family while they sip a drink or munch on appetizers.
This custom lakefront home has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, plenty of room for everyone to get ready without competing for space. In the morning, step through the French doors of the master bedroom with its king bed out onto the deck and savor a great view of the lake with your morning coffee. There are 3 other bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with a full/double, another with 2 twins, and, finally, 1 sofabed, so there's plenty of flexible sleeping arrangements for your group of up to eight guests.
The City of Coeur d'Alene is about 12 miles (about 22 minutes by car) from this property. By boat, it's about half the time. Within a hundred miles of Coeur d'Alene you'll find 50 lakes and 3 national forests. With that comes plenty of boating, waterskiing, hiking, kayaking and fishing. There are 3 theme water parks nearby. Golfers: tee-up at one of 8 golf courses in the Coeur d'Alene area. Shoppers: choose from 125 retail shops by the lake. This home has everything from spectacular views, water and dock access, twenty minutes to town and plenty of room for everyone. We had eight adults and never once felt crowded. Well worth the price!
Excellent stay. The photos don't do justice to the serene and beautiful surroundings!
Lovely place. Ample room. Gorgeous location, huge deck on two levels. It's on an inlet so you don't have much in terms of traffic from cars or boats. Beds were comfortable. Lots of cupboard space, clean towels, linens, condiments. Definitely worth the money. If you want an amazing stay, stay here! Also, it's only about a 15 or 20 mon scenic drive for groceries.
The drive up to the property is very beautiful too. We can't say enough amazing things about it.
We stayed at the house for a week and loved every minute of it. the photos are VERY representative of the house and surroundings. The house offers family gathering opportunities but also a chance for some private time if you wish.
The supplies provided met or exceeded our expectations. As much as I wanted to, I could not get the wonderful appliances in the kitchen into my suitcase. I love to cook and having fully functional and sizable appliances was great.
The firepit down near the dock was always how we ended our day. It was great.
We rented a boat so having the dock space was wonderful.
And finally, working with Vacasa was a breeze.
We will be back.
Beautiful house with a beautiful view with plenty of space but sadly for our family we missed not having a dining table where we could all sit and eat together and play games together. The drive in and out of the property to go into town wasn't terribly long but the windy road back up to highway 95 did get to some of the kids. If we were to do it again we would definitely plan it later in the summer when the water is warmer or the days are hotter to make the water more enjoyable. When we booked the place the stairs to the waterfront had not been built which was a concern but before we arrived we were very happy with the access down to the waterfront. We made good use of the fire pit but carrying deck chairs up down was a little extra work. Some log benches or camp chairs would have been a nice touch. In spite of a few inconveniences we did have a great time and very much enjoyed our stay.
Just a side note: this is not a place for the disabled. You can get your work out going up and down a lot of stairs.
