Outside, the beautiful terrace and patio are ideal spots for lazy afternoon, where you can read of contemplate the panorama on a hammock, rocked by the refreshing sea breeze. And of course we have the panoramic swimming pool, completely private as the closest neighbours are quite a way. By the pool there is a little pool house with sunbeds, sunshades and other useful equipment inside.
There is safe shaded parking for 2 cars in the 16 hectare property, which is fully fenced. There is plenty more parking around the house.
The house is set in in a garden of 16 hectares. Its spectacular views of the coast are everchanging with light and natural scenery surrounding you. Wonderful walks can be taken along the sea shore.
The area is covered in wild scented herbs, bringing many aromas and delicious when used in meal preparation. Further, the villa has an extensive biological vegetable garden; help yourself to delicious strawberries, other fruit or vegetables.
Beaches & Nautical sports:
'Praia da Foz' is a fine sand beach, only 3km away, which you can wak or drive to; it is a beautiful unspoilt beach surrounded by cliffs. Further, you can find the beach “Praia das Bicas”, popular for surfing, and 'Praia Rio da Prata'. To the north you'll discover the largest and main beach, “Praia do Meco”, with three miles of white sand and beautiful cliffs. This is the most uninhibited and naturist beach in Portugal. Praia do Meco is so long that if you walk long enough you will always find an uncrowded spot.
On the base of Arrábida mountain you can find various beaches of crystalline water and green hills. Most of these are small coves, with its fine white sand, tranquil waters and special microclimate.
Surfing is popular at “Praia das Bicas” close by. For diving, Portinho de Arrabida beach has of the most interesting diving in Portugal with its grottos and abundant marine life. Sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, rowing and can all be practiced in nearby Sesimbra.
Gastronomy, wine tasting and other activities:
In a country with such an extensive coastline, it is not surprising that the sea should be one of the main sources of its cuisine. In the many restaurants of Meco, Sesimbra or Setubal, sample all sorts of the most fresh and delicious grilled fish and the best seafood, such as clams, mussels or shrimps.
Portugal's climate and soil, its excellent varieties of traditional grapes and the wisdom and long experience of its vine-growers have all helped to make Portuguese wines amongst the most appreciated. The region of Setúbal, which has given its name to a sweet fortified wine, made from muscadet grape, also produces robust reds and light white wines.
Horses can be hired a few km away for beautiful ridese along the paths by the sea.
Apart from Lisbon, 40km away, Azeitão, Setubal, Palmela and Sesimbra are easily reached, making the self-catering villa an ideal base for unforgettable excursions.
The village of Azoia is 1km away for your daily necessities and local restaurants.
Golf:
Portugal is a paradise where the golfer can play almost every day of the year. Quinta do Peru Golf and Aroeira Gold are a short drive away and other courses are nearby.
