Alles Super

  • 5 of 5
Thank you Francoise &Terry for a beautiful week in La Tour!

Turm mit wunderschönem Ambiente

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic property and beautiful area

  • 5 of 5
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Aimargues (23.7.2011 to 6.8.2011). We used both the tower and adjoining cabanon. Our 20 year old daughter and boyfriend enjoyed the independence of having the cabanon to stay in. The owners Francoise and Terry and their family (and cats!) were extremely welcoming and generous hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We were very grateful for the kind gifts of tomatoes, herbs and vegetables from their garden.

The tower and cabanon had everything we needed. The garden offers a wonderful mixture of sun and shade in an informal setting with the added bonus of a ping pong table and boules piste. The swimming pool is a very short walk away across the garden and offers a welcome opportunity to cool off and relax.

The area itself is wonderful and the tower is a perfect base for exploring the Carmague and seaside resorts as well as towns and cities like Nimes and Arles. Even in a two week stay we really felt we needed more time to do and visit everything which the area had to offer. We were sad to have to leave! One word of warning is that the roads to Grau du Roi get very very busy in July/August so our tip is to go early or go late!

We can't thank Terry and Francoise enough for their hospitality and wonderful opportunity to stay in this lovely place.

Romain Chevalier de la Tour

  • 5 of 5

Rapunzels Tower - modern, elegant & relaxing

Rapunzels Tower - modern, elegant & relaxing
  • 5 of 5
We stayd at the tower in Aimargues for 2 weeks in June. Unfortunately the weather was unlikely bad for the first 4 days but therefore the house and ground was superb.
We (4 adults and 3 children at the age of 1-3) enjoyed the time in the tower very much. The elegant and very tasteful decor made it easy to relax and the HUGE and closed garden was perfect for the children to run around without watching them the whole time. The equipment was great: sunchairs in all sizes, an open fireplace, an induction - oven in the kitchen, toys and books for the kids, a barbecue with wine-woods for heating, a washingmachine and very cool and nice landlords!! We will definetely come back!!
Thanks again to Terry & Francoise for the wonderful weeks at Aimargues.

We loved it - and our kids, too!

  • 5 of 5
We spent two weeks in the tower and had a fantastic time. We came with our daughters, aged 1 and 2, and friends who brought their son, aged 2. Even for the seven (!) of us, the tower and cabanon are comfortable and spacy enough.
The tower itself has two large bedrooms, a bathroom and the living room and is simply beautiful. The cabanon has two more bedrooms (one large, one small) and a bathroom. Everything is freshly renovated and in fabulous condition.
The garden is huge and fully fenced - which is helpful when travelling with children. There is a separate BBQ area, which was frequently used.
The property is a charming and relaxed getaway slightly outside of Aimargues. We found it to be an excellent base for daytrips to Montpellier, Sete, Nimes, Arles, Aix, Avignon or even Marseille. The beaches in Grau-du-Roi are nice - and not even too packed during June. There is something for everyone - beach, culture, nature, shopping.
So, the setting is right for very enjoyable holidays. And then you have Francoise and Therry together with their children, who will do their best to make you feel at home. They are very open minded, international and helpful in every sense.

In brief: we had an exceptionally good time and the tower is highly recommended.

Half-way between the historic cities of Nîmes (22k) and Montpellier (29k),4k from motorway access and close to other Roman sites like Le Pont du Gard and Arles, close to Aigues - Mortes the superb medieval city, Aimargues is within easy reach of sandy Mediterranean beaches. The Camargue is renowned for its bird life and nature reserve as well as its characteristic bulls, horses and pink flamingoes. Sports and activities include various water sports, horse-riding, golf, tennis, hiking in the close-by Cévennes hills etc. Each village in the area has its week of 'fête votive' (festivities) and as a major wine-growing region visits and tasting in the numerous wine domains are always popular. In the summer, the region is gifted with a large number of art festivals : theatre, music, dance and fine Arts of world renown.(Avignon festival in July, Montpellier dance and music festivals in June and July etc...) Aimargues is a very good spot to get to these events easily due to its location.

Other Activities: Bird-watching, Wine tasting, Cultural festivals

It has large outbuildings one part is now used as an artist's studio . Visit welcomed !. Guests are also invited in Summer to use the owners' pool at guests' convenience . In case of cooler weather in early or late Summer season the tower has on the ground-floor living-room an insert wood-burning fire-place with heat distributed in all the rooms and some electric heaters can be provided if needed . ,Walks or horse riding on the wonderful wild Camargue beaches and marshes are stunning .
